Here are some obscure ones... does anyone else remember these?

Singing Science records ("Friction, what is friction, friction is the rub-a-dub-dub, rub-a-dub of objects that are moving....")

Songs from old 78's:
"Carrots Grow From Carrot Seeds,"
Groucho Marx singing about the zoo ("Laugh laugh laugh at the sight of the giraffe, whose neck is twice as long as it should be-ee-ee...")[I bet if I had that today it would fetch good $$ with some collector..]

TV show "Diver Dan" (might be Northeast regional)
"Wonderama" with Sonny Fox (definitely NY regional)

"The Man in the Moon" puppet musical and soundtrack LP

Cartoons: "Tom Terrific" (funnelhead, loved it), Farmer Alfalfa (hated it!)

and -- not obscure, just often forgotten -- Topo Gigio on Ed Sullivan! ("Eddie? Keess me goodnaaeeht?")

MC Hammer - Can't touch this

Some of us remember from our era Rick James's Superfreak, which he ripped off, sorry, sampled for that :P

I don't know too many people that don't know superfreak actually. It however was not from my generation and therefore not listed. ;)

I'm amazed by what the "younger generation" know. I mean, some people think Limp Bizkit wrote "Behind blue eyes"...:S

Be careful lumping everyone in together. Most of the things that have been listed in this thread with the exception of a few of the tv shows that haven't been on in syndication during my lifespan I have been exposed to and I am only 22.

DeLoreans! No.
Thriller! No.

...sh*t.
[Idea for thread: Is something actually cool just because we remember it fondly, or do we just nostalgically decide to deny how much it blew?]
