amychmelecki 0 #1 March 27, 2007 Last I have heard the largest completed Hybrid formation was built at Skydive Chicago in 2001. Has anyone heard of a bigger one since then? If so are there any photos out there. What ever the biggest one is I think it is time to build a bigger one.
turtlespeed 212 #2 March 27, 2007 I think a pretty big one was built in Eloy . . . but I don't remember how big.I'm not usually into the whole 3-way thing, but you got me a little excited with that. - Skymama BTR #1 / OTB^5 Official #2 / Hellfish #408 / VSCR #108/Tortuga/Orfun
amychmelecki 0 #3 March 27, 2007 Not since I have been here (9 years). But I am thinking about making an attempt this June.

stitch 0 #7 March 27, 2007 We completed a 4-way hybrid out of the 182 at Skydive Chicago in 2006. It was a Monday, me thinks."No cookies for you"- GFD "I don't think I like the sound of that" ~ MB65 Don't be a "Racer Hater"
Brains 2 #8 March 27, 2007 Amy, I think Trent and the boys built a 16 way hybrid in spaceland, I do know they were throwing out some really nice big hybrids a while back. I will look for some pics. . . Never look down on someone, unless they are going down on you.
bob.dino 0 #9 March 27, 2007 I've been on a 14-16-way hybrid*. We turned points as well. The record has to be significantly bigger than that.... * can't remember the exact size.
guppie01 0 #10 March 27, 2007 Tried to find something on the USPA site.... if something has been built larger it's not noted. Looks like you and Missy still hold the record. Quote Saturday's schedule included the Hybrid Challenge to unite belly-flyers and freeflyers. Nelson and Chmelecki organized a successful 21-way hybrid, which they hope sets a new mark for hybrid jumps BTW, you are sooo cute when you're determined... gia"Let's do something romantic this Saturday... how bout we bust out the restraints?" ACMESkydiver 0 #13 March 28, 2007 This one was awesome. Pic attached. I can say, in all honestly, that it's the biggest hybrid I've ever seen. Shoot, it was 267KB. Blown up it's like a poster size, but with complete shite quality.~Jaye Do not believe that possibly you can escape the reward of your action.
gemini 0 #14 March 28, 2007 Here is the Anomaly 16-way completed on March 7, 2006. A 20-way was attempted, but not successful. We use the maximum 50% belly flyer definition of a hybrid. Blue skies, Jim
HeadLicker 0 #15 March 28, 2007 Amy, I will be in Eloy in June (18, 19 and 20). If that is when you are thinking of trying it, I would love to be on the team. I am a much better belly flyer, so gladly be in belly position."Political change which ran ahead of social and psychological development was at best useless and at worst dangerous." --George Eliot
livendive 8 #16 March 28, 2007 QuoteHow many points? Seriously. Think hybrid & V-RW... multiple 2-way w/ hanger pieces turning points to build with solo FF's docking to build new formations.....voila! The coolest hybrids I've done have been kind of along those lines. 4-way base, sits & bellies. Bellies docked on the base sit's hands, sits on those bellie's feet, bellies on those sit's hands, etc...spiralling up and out from the center like multi-level weedwhackers. I'll now only belly fly on a hybrid if I actually get to fly, be it to a tough slot or between points.
