diablopilot 2 #1 March 28, 2007 For me it was Taco Bell. They did their jobs. After walking into a StarShmucks and having 4, that's right 4 employees behind the counter make eye contact with me, but say nothing nor even smile, I was finaly served. Won't be making the visit to StarShmucks again. Anywhere. Same thing happened at Carl's Jr., more than once in the last couple weeks, so yesterday I walked out. I'm not putting up with service like this anymore. I don't ask for anything other than what I am paying for. Fed up with businesse treating me like they don't need me there. Anyone else?---------------------------------------------- You're not as good as you think you are. Seriously.

downwardspiral 0 #4 March 28, 2007 A long time ago when I was living on nothing but cash (no credit cards, no atm card) my girlfriend's car broke down about 30 minutes from me on a Sunday when I had no cash and no gas in my jeep. So I rummaged around and found $5 in quarters. I rolled em up and went to the gas station. I went to hand the attendant the roll and he just looks at me and says,"we have enough of those already." " You have enough of what", I asked. "Quarter rolls." Rather than argue with the guy I just turned around and walked out. To this day I haven't returned to that gas station (nor have any of my friends) which is one of four in a little town I visit once per month.www.FourWheelerHB.com

Most of the stuff that makes the expensive hotels so expensive is the service, the intangibles. We are required to say hello and greet any guest we make eye contact with, and suggest assistance to any that appear lost or confused. Note taken you guys even notice a failure in attitude in taco bell, we MUST be under a microscope here! Just because I liked their rewards program and they seemed to almost always have a decent hotel near the Airports I flew into. However.........I had some AWFUL experiences in Baltimore, Chicago, and Philly to name a few. You are completely right though. Something like walking the customer where they want to go makes them feel like someone gives a shit. And I've actually taken the time to write letters of praise and speak with restaurant managers when I've received very good service. The way I look at it is this... If the employees are slacking off and don't give a shit, it is probably, at least in part, due to the case that the owner doesn't know what's going on. So, I'm happy to take free food as compensation for both having to deal with asshats AND spending the time to let them know what's going on in their store. It may seem like too much work to bother, but if you consider that it takes only 5 minutes of your time to complain and you're going to be compensated around $10 for those 5 minutes, it's actually a very good deal. Especially considering that the employees will hopefully be on top for their game the next time you visit. The process is pretty anonymous too, so there's really not any risk of having your foods tampered with. Then again, I think I might be a tad more patient than you...Gravity Waits for No One.
