How cold is too cold????

Recommended Posts

When do you draw the line and say "it's just too damn cold and it's taking away from the fun?" It's 37 degrees on the ground, the landing are is flooded and where it's not flooded is deep slushy snow. There's Tandems that are coming the want to jump (crazy). There's no good place to land that the gear isn't gonna get soaked. What do other people think. Would you jump?

I probably wouldn't jump, just because of the landing area. As for the temperature...you won't really feel the cold until you land.... B|

So I try and I scream and I beg and I sigh
Just to prove I'm alive, and it's alright
'Cause tonight there's a way I'll make light of my treacherous life
Make light!

Once it gets into negative degrees celsius at altitude, I know that it's generally going to be so cold that even with my good gloves my fingers will go numb in freefall.

That is when it is too cold.

My rule is if the temp is less than my age then I don't leave the house, hell I don't even get dressed. Freaks the hell out of the kids;):):P

I'd say anything below 70 is too cold B|

Agreed... Without looking I'm assuming you live in California, right?

EDIT: Crap, wrong. Ok, well I guess Florida is somewhat warm too... At least when you don't have huge hurricanes smashing through your DZ. All we have to deal with is earthquakes, and we don't have to worry about those till we get back on the ground...B|
