Is Dating a Waitress a Bad Thing?

Continuing in the same vein as the other thread about whether degreed women are less likely to be drama queens, the same friend who told me that also warned me against ever daiting a woman who was a waitress.

Huh?!!!!!

Her reasoning is that many waitresses get higher tips by being somewhat manipulative and putting on an act, so they are more likely to be manipulative and "users" in their relationships.

I've never dated a waitress and it sounded kind of far-fetched to me.

What do you think?

Disclaimer: I am still clueless when it comes to women.

I dated three waitresses in college and they were all great. Most women know that they can manipulate men to do many things. If a woman chooses to exclusively rely on tears, flirting, etc. to get what she wants in a relationship it's probably an indication of how they were raised rather than their job. I suppose at a younger age a job that rewards manipulation could influence their behavior later on, though.

Can't help you on the strippers, even though they are real people too.

I had friends that made awesome money waitressing. I did it for a total of three months in my entire life--my only restaurant experience. Alas, I discovered, I'm not really one that likes to cater to people.

I got "yelled at" (except he was laughing too hard) by my manager for telling a completely unreasonable-about-everything-under-the-sun woman who also happened to find a ladybug in her salad she should be grateful for the luck that was just bestowed upon her.

It wasn't even what I might have said had I not been trying to be polite.

How do you like it served Walt? I was a waitress at one time and I serve it well. Waitresses are just as tired as anyone else and is a normal healthy human being. They get alot of health issues later but who doesnt? Give waitresses a good healthy helping just as you would any other lady silly.

We had lunch the other day at the local joint and our waitress was 6'1" taLL (we asked)

We gave the nice lady a 20% ($4) tip for good service and told her we wanted to tip her $1/ft, but were to careful with our money (cheap).

She laughed and said no problemo

When I was pursuing my higher education(read into that what you will) I had a friend that worked in a very high class restaurant. He was buying his home, had nice cars and his wife was able to stay at home and take care of their kids. So, if she's making that kind of money, grab on, it'll leave you more money for jumps.

It's a gift, I don't try to explain it.

Here in the south, it's common for a waitress that you've never seen before, to call you honey, darlling, baby, or sweetie. It makes me want to throw tip money at them just for being kind.
