Got this guy yesterday *PICS*

Recommended Posts

Picked up this young fawn Boxer dog from Boxer Rescue Los Angeles yesterday. He's 1.5 years old and full of life and energy, but is learning to listen. I've always wanted a Boxer and so far, he's great... and will only get better with training and discipline!

We haven't picked a name yet, but so far we are between Tucker, Duke, and Bear.

Here are some pics!

He is adorable! White boxers remind me so much of American Bulldogs. So cute. :D

Yes, they do, don't they!

Everytime I watch Homeward Bound, when Herc gives me those "looks" where he tilts his head to the side, I can hear Michael J Fox talking in my head! :D:D

Have fun with your little guy! You're gonna LOVE being a Boxer-mom! They are the BEST.

Speaking of Boxers, mine's looking at me now saying "Auntie, can we go to bed now?" So I gotta go!

Chelle, your new baby is adorable.

Shell, your baby makes me laugh to think you're afraid of chicken attacks. :P

More of my baby!

That's a big bastard. In that first picture was the person having trouble breathing?:D

Yes, he's a little large (around 85 lbs or so). I think Craig was okay for the first 10 minutes. After that I believe he lost all feeling in his arm so he didn't care.

Yes, I have an 85 lb lap dog. What I'd REALLY like to do with him is get a purse big enough to cart him around in and go where the girls with the little purse dogs hang out. :D:D

Surprised I got to this post before livendive. Calling Dave.

....must....resist....but....oh....so....difficult.....the.....temptation.....is.....toooo..............strongkirk voice>

I've already posted lots of pictures of Ally, and honestly, "adopting" Minka was mostly a step toward accepting that Ally is now my ex's dog. All I've had is a canine version of visitation rights for the last few years. :P

Which pictures of Minka have I not posted here yet? Maybe Muttley can post some new ones today. :D Attached are the two most recent I have on my work computer, but she's substantially bigger now. She graduated puppy obedience last week and is probably close to 35 lbs, and yes, she still thinks she's a lap dog. It's hilarious watching her try to get in my or Muttley's lap when we're on the computer...she gives this accusing look like "Hey, what did you do with my spot? I left it right here and now most of it is gone!" Then she'll rest her head, chest, and forelegs on our laps with her hind legs still on the ground and take a nap (after much huffing & puffing & letting us know how difficult we're making her life). If we do let her up on our laps, her butt & hind legs are all that'll fit, so it becomes a full body hug with her head resting on our shoulders.

Chelle - your dog looks very happy. :) If you get bored here or want more information on the breed, www.boxerworld.com is sometimes fun too (though over the top mushy). My name is the same there. ;)

Dave

The problem would be I'd probably throw my back out trying to lift him! He ain't small!

Maybe a purse on a set of wheels! Yeah, that's the ticket! B|B|

I wish folks would leave their ears alone:(

I totally agree with you on that... I actually think they look cuter without their ears clipped. On a side note - I thanked my best friend for not clipping the ears or cutting the tail on her pitbull pup. Foxy looks just fine the way she was born.

One more, just cuz I like this one, and the standard quote about boxers.
Quote

"He is the clown of the dog fraternity, canines answer to vaudeville. A laugh a minute, lives life to the fullest, a maximum velocity version of canine slapstick. But he is also a sympathetic soul, a shoulder to cry on, a confidante. He is all that is good in a dog. He is of course The Boxer." (from the article Canine Clowns by Matthew Cowley)
