Yoshi 0 #1 December 5, 2008 Here is one of mine... its got a really solid tempo...kinda like slam poetry.. lemme know what you think! Driving… with the dotted line, passing by That ticks away, unnoticed and unseen To everyone and anyone, but you and me. Will it burn and churn inside your stomach Like a meal that sits awkwardly? Will you walk with me, talk with me Learn with me, burn with me As the fire that scorns my finger tips, that miss your lips When thrown out with a carless reach into the deep abyss That we have accepted as a hit or miss relationship? Or has it just been said, with fear in our hearts and our heads Exploding from side to side, in my mind With no care for kind That the concept is understood, whether wanting to follow it Or break it if I could Ill just lay myself back to bed. Ill hope to dream, for what it seems Could possibly grace me, my life, my time On this earth In search Of what so many have found That lifts them up, yet keeps them earth bound. Grounded. With a positive and negative Co-existing in a working pair A circle perspective, or directive That gives balance and order To what insists to take over. A force to be reckoned with- Are you a fighter, a biter, a kicker, a scratcher Will you claw your way to make ends meet? Or will you subside inside yourself-beside yourself To ease the discomfort of a thousand nails Piercing and depressing, messing and compressing The best thing Your flesh that covers you and me Do you see the ties that bind a forbidden lie Yet bond the kindest of minds In a unity That definitely Could lead you and me To see and be Everything? Or will my drive, in good time Return my mind To where it started… a stop sign? The only answer to wait upon Has been so long Overdue For me and you In only a second or two And always falls back to the light in my head, or a chime.. …yes… time._________________________________________ this space for rent. cocheese 0 #7 December 5, 2008 Skybabe I love you Excuse me whuffo I have to go There's a brand new skybabe I must get to know Check out the way Her suit fits so well With thoughts like mine I'm going to hell Or maybe heaven If she smiles back Oh my God Now that's a rack But it's not the outside That makes me drool It's her lovely heart That i think is so cool She's so kind to everyone I want to take her home And treat her like a Queen Not talk on the phone Her hair , her smile And damn those thighs When we kissed in freefall We closed our eyes Good thing for audibles Because i was going in My heart skipped a few beats Like a lottery win A match made in heaven and this song has no Chorus Look at those angels They're so happy for us Glad i'm a jumper And glad she is too For we would never have met In the skies that were blue I Love you Skybabe Like a Sunset load The light in your eyes Never gets old. ................... Said Hamlet to Ophelia, I'll draw a sketch of thee, What kind of pencil shall I use? 2B or not 2B? Things that go 'bump' in the night Should not really give one a fright. jimmytavino 16 #13 December 5, 2008 as promised earlier..... it's called JUST ONE there was a voice inside me i'd hear it now and then when days were warm or skies were blue or i was with a friend it started soft with gentle urges but grew and grew , in leaps and surges. til from my mouth, as if a SHOUT !! one day i said, or blurted out.... "for sure, why not?" "it might be fun" "a parachute jump!! from a plane ! just One!" i'd heard about it once or twice, and always thought it would be nice, to look way down, and float around check out the ground, not make a sound. well the chance arose, one free Fall day. and some friends and i , we made our way through what it was, one had to do, to safely make a jump, or two.. I can tell you now, it was pretty hairy the time was near, my mind unclear, and things were looking scarey... "what are you doing," "Is it safe?" "are you sure"? said that little voice inside me.. but i reassured myself, and said, " I have my head, to guide me" "for just this once , I'll do this thing, and leave a plane in flight.... and make some friends and have some laughs, and it'll be Over , by tonight". So UP i went, and out the door and to my surprise, came back for more... well it's been a while since that Autumn Day and many jumps have gone their way.. The days of fear and aprehension, are GONE my friends, there IS no tension.. NOW, jumping's MORE than Lots of Fun !!! and think, it started with , Just One.. jt circa 1978
prodiver913 0 #14 December 5, 2008 ewwie gooie was a worm and what a worm was he! he sat upon a railroad track, a train he did not see! EWWIE GOOIE! -------------- Twas brillig, and the slithy toves Did gyre and gimble in the wabe; All mimsy were the borogoves, And the mome raths outgrabe. "Beware the Jabberwock, my son! The jaws that bite, the claws that catch! Beware the Jubjub bird, and shun The frumious Bandersnatch!" He took his vorpal sword in hand: Long time the manxome foe he sought— So rested he by the Tumtum tree, And stood awhile in thought. And as in uffish thought he stood, The Jabberwock, with eyes of flame, Came whiffling through the tulgey wood, And burbled as it came! One, two! One, two! and through and through The vorpal blade went snicker-snack! He left it dead, and with its head He went galumphing back. "And hast thou slain the Jabberwock? Come to my arms, my beamish boy! O frabjous day! Callooh! Callay!" He chortled in his joy. 'Twas brillig, and the slithy toves Did gyre and gimble in the wabe; All mimsy were the borogoves, And the mome raths outgrabe. I'm completely in favor of the separation of Church and State. My idea is that these two institutions screw us up enough on their own, so both of them together is certain death.
gonzalesna 0 #15 December 6, 2008 I liked it...Mine was written at the start of the Thanksgiving weekend. It's a bit bitter, but reflected my mood at the time. Here's mine: Screw your holiday... Gimme a beer The lights are all out, the music is on, Not holiday music, just regular songs, Jack Daniels whiskey, Budweiser beer, That's all the familiy that I have here, Pour me a brew, pour me a shot, It helps me sleep on this piece of crap cot, Null out the holidays, that is my goal, Screw all your carols, get away from my hole, That which I've dug is to bury the cheer, Surrounding this season you all hold so dear, Douse it with gas, light it afire, I'd rather be in Iraq outside the wire, So don't send your hope and don't send your cheer, Its all just bah humbug for the rest of this year, Don't cheer me up, just leave me alone, Don't send me cards, don't call my phone, Don't send me e-mail, don't try to chat, All this holiday crap? Yeah, I'm done with that. Some people refrain from beating a dead horse. Personally, I find a myriad of entertainment value when beating it until it becomes a horse-smoothie. gonzalesna 0 #16 December 6, 2008 I wrote this one about 4 and a half years ago when I was stationed in Florida for the first time. Time Slowly Speeds By The sands of the hourglass Fall at varying speeds Sometimes, as slow as the growth As the new sprouting seeds Time creeps on by Like the patient snail Or a boat in the ocean With a windless sail And yet at times, it blows on by You blink and an hour's passed It's as though someone put a hole In the side of the hourglass But either way, slow or fast Enjoy it while you can Because you never know when your time has come And you've run out of sandSome people refrain from beating a dead horse. Personally, I find a myriad of entertainment value when beating it until it becomes a horse-smoothie.

shropshire 0 #20 December 9, 2008 If I was a flower growing wild and free All I'd want is you to be my sweet honey bee. And if I was a tree growing tall and green All I'd want is you to shade me and be my leaves... If you were a river in the mountains tall, The rumble of your water would be my call. If you were the winter, I know I'd be the snow Just as long as you were with me, when the cold winds blow. If you were the wood, I'd be the fire. If you were the love, I'd be the desire. If you were a castle, I'd be your moat, And if you were an ocean, I'd learn to float. If you were a wink, I'd be a nod If you were a seed, well I'd be a pod. If you were the floor, I'd wanna be the rug And if you were a kiss, I know I'd be a hug. (.)Y(.) gonzalesna 0 #21 December 9, 2008 This one is about 29 Palms, CA. I wrote it about 3 years ago. If you don't know what 29 Palms looks like, read it and see if you can get a mental picture, then google a picture of it. You might be surprised... I sit atop my manmade perch Built of brick and stone The vastness of this barren view Will make one feel alone This endless view of nothingness Is nothing more than bland Consisting of a random bush And a beach's worth of sand A snowcapped peak is far and faint It taunts me day to day Knowing, though I want to leave, For years, here I will stay The summer heat relentlessly Beats down without remorse A heat lamp blatently left on By some unknown force Winter's cold takes you by surprise Chilling to the bone It's hard to see how anyone Could claim this land as home And yet, this all is overshadowed By what remains unsaid Because this manmade perch of mine Puts a roof over my head Three meals a day, He never fails To provide my daily bread And a rack and stiffened mattress For me to lay my head If I wished, I could spend all day Complaining of my ills And wishing that my view was made of beaches, not rocky hills But happy thoughts have always been A lifter of the spirits So take all that He's given you Inhale, and you will feel it.Some people refrain from beating a dead horse. Personally, I find a myriad of entertainment value when beating it until it becomes a horse-smoothie.
