Icon134 0 #1 December 26, 2008 If you don't like spiders I suggest you avoid opening the pictures... I found this little guy crawling around on my parents Christmas Tree (by "little" I mean roughly 5-10mm across) I hope you enjoy them... http://scottgunshell.smugmug.com/photos/442811929_GUD78-L.jpg http://scottgunshell.smugmug.com/photos/442812000_AHazu-L.jpg ScottLivin' on the Edge... sleeping with my rigger's wife... gearless_chris 1 #4 December 26, 2008 I don't like spiders but I opened it anyway. It's a neat picture. Those really close pictures are cool."If it wasn't easy stupid people couldn't do it", Duane. skittles_of_SDC 0 #6 December 26, 2008 I agree with DSE. Excellent photos from a technical stand point. I'm too afraid of spiders to look at them much though.

RhondaLea 4 #8 December 26, 2008 Quotelooks like it could be a brown recluse Brown recluse spiders have six eyes, grouped in pairs. Most others, like this little guy, have eight eyes.If you don't know where you're going, you should know where you came from. Gullah Proverb

Gato 0 #10 December 26, 2008 Yep - I agree. If I'm not mistaken it's a wolf spider - not as badass as a brown recluse, but it can still fuck you up in a similar way.T.I.N.S.

lodestar 0 #19 December 26, 2008 I'm not exactly sure but i'd go with the wolf spider ident. They will grow to an amazing size but these looked like babies or young'uns. Cute little guys..... They eat cockroaches by the numbers...

JohnRich 4 #21 December 27, 2008 Here are a few critter photos that I took recently on a canoe trip down the Pecos River in Texas. The quality isn't as nice as Icon134's, but since we've got bug-lover's here, maybe you'll enjoy them. 1) Another spider. Look at those hairy legs! 2) Yellow bugs on yellow flowers. Good camouflage, so as not to be eaten by birds. 3) More bugs on flowers. 4) How about something a little prettier: From the annual monarch butterfly migration. 5) And ending with "cute": a baby lizard. pwln 0 #23 December 28, 2008 Maybe the spider came with the tree? I have seen tiny wolf spiders jump off the back of the momma spider I was stepping on. Unrelated, here is a St Andrews Cross that hung out on my porch for a few weeks.
