After all the Mexican food I've eaten or tried to eat, nothing has ever topped the food I ate in a quaint old town in the Yucatan peninsula that has a Catholic cathedral built on top of an ancient Mayan pyramid or mound. There was this restaurant in town. Everything there was made from scratch and the food locally grown.

Out of the tour group of 30 people, I was the only one who ate every morsel offered. One dish was a chicken lime tortilla soup. Best soup ever.

I have been hoping to find its equal around here, but am still searching. Oh well, when the kids are older, we'll make a return trip to that area of Mexico.
