NWFlyer 2 #2 February 15, 2010 Whew! I thought this was going to be another Scott Lutz thread. Given how crappy life seems to turn out for a lot of lottery winners, I'm not sure I'd say they're "lucky" just yet. Hopefully they can manage their money well so they can assure a good life for themselves and their kids. But quotes like this one make me think "uh-oh." But I think that when you accept the money you sign away the ability to be private about it ... I may be wrong, but it seems like the lottery boards require winners to do at least a very small amount of publicity b/c it gives them positive press."There is only one basic human right, the right to do as you damn well please. andreeb77 0 #16 February 15, 2010 I definitely wouldn't think so. All I know from our national lottery is that they explicitly advise you to not go public and think very hard about who to tell about your win. Although, all this his strictly second hand info.... of course

Bingo that's why I said in the other "what would you do" post set up a trust and claim it through that. This should be anyone's firat step when they win for more reasons than just the public knowing.Life is all about ass....either you're kicking it, kissing it, working it off, or trying to get a piece of it. Bolas 5 #20 February 15, 2010 If I won the lottery I'd offer to give it all to various charities if they'd pay out the full amount as a non taxed lump sum.
