Wow these soccer moms have the life!

So I just went to one of the local schools in one of the upscale neighborhoods.
WOW! In my next life I want to be one of these soccer moms.
I was sitting in the office waiting to see one of the science teachers so as to set up an agreement whereby engineers and scientists can act as mentors for their robotics and math teams and in walks a gaggle of soccer moms.
Looking at the key chains of their high end SUV's and the very high end clothes they were wearing and their nonstop talk about what spa they went to or what expensive lunch they had.....I had only two questions.
1) How much must their husband make to afford to have one of them? And can I get a job at that firm?
2) I know money won't buy you happiness but sitting there and just observing them....they sure looks happy to me!

But on the same token.....I can't help but wonder is this what life was like back in the 50's when all the guys worked and all the women stayed at home? And if so.....why on god's green earth did women ever want to go into the work place! Looks like a hell of a life if you ask me!

Well it was 11am and most people who work would be at work. Unless they work nights?
And they were too young to be retired and their kids were in highschool...

I don't know. I was just assuming that their husbands were pulling in the big $$$$$$$$$.

Oh yeah that could be a possibility.
Working at home.....but does working at home pay enough to drive the top of the line Landi? And live in the neighborhood they live in? (property tax is about $20k a year)
If it does I'm the wrong line of work! But yeah could be.

And no they were all rather very attractive. And I was just guessing on the income. It would be well north of $200k to live where they live and to dirve what they drive. It's NJ where $100k a year is nothing.

Well either way more power to them. Wish I had such a swanky life! I need a day at the spa!

Most people I know in relationships like that don’t really get treated as equals. The one making the money usually is the one in control.

Imagine being 30-40 years old and needing to ask your husband for money, or need his or her ok to get something. Fuck that I would feel like a useless whore. Maybe I have too much pride but I wouldn’t want a wife like that and would never want to be a wife like that.

What happens when and if I lose my income. All of a sudden you hear “ I am not HAPPY” and on to the next dick she goes. Or she gets old and the dude finds some new chick younger Version 2.0 ho to “love”. Point relationships based on materialistic things usually are hollow and not for me.

My guess would be that they had a kid with man #1, divorced and another kid with man #2 and another divorce. Child support and alimony from two men and they never need to work a day in their lives. Plus they get to keep the house and kids so they can use all the money on themselves.

Moms don't hang out at high schools at 11 am. High school administrators don't really want parents hanging around and the kids certainly don't.
Women put their keychains in their purses, usually when they step out of the car.
Women don't talk about how expensive their lunch was and if it was 11 am, they wouldn't have had lunch yet anyway.

You could have seen someone like Amy, who runs a rigging business.

You could have seen our next door neighbor. She does acupuncture on her own schedule. Has a pretty nice SUV, a daughter and a puppy.

You could have seen Reegan; she's a friend of ours who runs a yoga studio. Her hours are long but irregular (7am-10am, 5pm-9pm some days.)

You could have seen Gina. She owns a chain of restaurants/breweries around here. She spends most of her days taking care of the kids; when she does work at one of the restaurants it's generally at night.

Or you could see what you want to see.

So if the guy is bringing in 100% of the money at that level, what does she bring to the table?

I know when I was married one of the things that was a major issue with us was that I had no problem making more than my wife and I had no problem doing the majority of the house work since she was going to school at night and working in the day. I just wanted her to one day a week make dinner or just help me fold the clothes. And slowly it went from a little issue to a huge issue.

So I'm putting my self in the shoes of these guys. If I'm making that kind of money and working from say 6am to 8pm......what would I get in return?

Dinner would be nice! Amazing loving would be second.

But you are right they, there were 3 of them, could all be working from home making that kind of cash.

Hey I had a shirt a tie and a sports jacket on!
I even had a box of free stuff for the students and teachers. I think I looked ok. But looking at what the ladies were wearing my entire outfit cost less than the shoes one of them had on.
