And to be honest, we're finding stuff out there that knocks the stuff we imagined into a cocked hat. A few hundred years from now (assuming we aren't wiped off the planet by Mother Nature or ourselves) we'll have the technology to go check out all this cool stuff. But right now we're stuck in the middle: we have the technology to look around us and see all the super-cool stuff that is out there, but we don't yet have the technology to GO there and see it with our own eyes, so to speak.
