It doesn't feel like Christmas. Wife has gone to church, and I'm off to go snorkeling with one of the kids (38C today!)

We had bought a family present earlier in the year, during a sale. We decided that as everyone in the family is over 12 we wouldn't waste money on cheap crap thwt ends up costing a large total.

Just a little bit, but I know I am getting my first altimeter tomorrow :)

My son's getting his ProTrack audible in the morning. B|

Christmas Blues? Naw, just the incessant dissatisfaction that I can never find a really "oh WoW!" gift for my wife. We both have everything we need and most of everything we want.

I'm tired of the world saying you don't love someone unless you get them the perfect gift once a year. Shouldn't how we treat them every day be the most important? It is to me. I love Christmas and its message of peace, and the gathering of friends and families, but I think the gift thing is overdone. I don't need nuttin'.:)

LOL, yep I was sanding doors earlier.

I was deburring/dimpling some skins a wing on the airplane I'm building.

That sounds pretty cool.

You could be working Christmas like me!>:(

Actually I worked Christmas for years, in A&E (ER), I loved it as the only people that came in were the ones that really needed to, even the drunks didn't want to spend Christmas in a hospital. Then I volunteered in a homeless shelter for alcoholics in central London for a few years. It kind of detracted from the commercialism of Christmas and was also enjoyable doing something for other people who thought the world didn't give a shit about them.
Today its Christmas and for the first Christmas ever on my lap as I'm typing this lies my sleeping 2 month old baby daughter, wearing a little knitted red dress with a white snowflake on the front, I'm in my home which my beautiful wife and I purchased this year and today I couldn't be happier.
So Merry Christmas to you all wherever you are reading this. :)

(I can't fit into the jeans from three years ago (Christel) I will be able to in a month or so! );)

Building the plane is pretty cool.

Deburring and dimpling all of the parts, not so much. :D

Today I'm hopefully going to get some much needed work on my truck done.

It was a fun Christmas we had when you and Karen were visiting. But it's about family and friends and maybe even Peace on Earth, not about presents (even though there were plenty of those).

I have to say that too many Christmas gifts, esp. the ones you have to get for acquaintances, bosses, etc. are just overpriced junk that will go out in the trash. Then some I know spend the next 6 months trying to pay off their credit cards. Asinine, if you ask me. :S

it was fun with your family John.:)Family and friends should be important all the time. That why Kas and I dont really do Xmas, but being with you guys at that time with all the snow was and still is special to us :)

I used to *love* Christmas as a kid... We didn't get much in the way of presents, but it was the one time per year we got to see uncles and aunts and cousins and grandparents... We'd play board-games and card-games and exchange jokes - it was great fun.

Now that people have stopped "hiding" all the family tensions "for the kids" the whole thing is a lot more of a chore [:/] Would be really great if the cycle could start again when (if) we all start to have kids... Some of my best childhood memories are of Christmas spent with family.
