quade 3 #10 April 12, 2013 I have been doing research and mentally living in 1944 for about a year now in my spare time. Music I'm specifically interested in is Hoagy Carmichael, but others have a tendency to float through my speakers as well. What's interesting about him to me is he's one of the most covered writer/artists of all time, yet his voice is roughly that of a hound dog barking at the moon and he couldn't read a note (might be a slight exaggeration on that one, but that's the story "they" tell). Lots of interesting novelty stuff, some profoundly beautify stuff and some (by today's standards) holy shitballs racist stuff. Here's him playing one of his songs in the movie, To Have and Have Not. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SUn4DOGiY_A Check it out! Remember when jokes about a "colored man" in China being addicted to opium was funny? Dafuq? As I mentioned, other stuff is finding its way into the mix and if I was conspiracy minded I would swear some of what the Andrews Sisters was singing were coded messages to spies behind enemy lines because the lyrics just don't make any fuckin' sense. QuoteChoo choo to Broadway foo Cincinati, Don't get icky with the one, two, three, Life is just so fine, on the solid side of the line -- RIP. FlyingRhenquest 1 #11 April 12, 2013 I'll listen to damn near anything, though I burned out on country when my job involved driving around in the back woods of Alabama and Georgia. A little Muse Ghost Tub Ring Skrillix I was listening to a lot of Skrillix when I was in AFF, and it still takes me back. Rammstein Camper Van Beethoven A little something off the Beyond Good and Evil Soundtrack A LOT Of Frank Zappa Man... Or Astroman? Timothy Leary Tom Waits Jeff Buckley And a lot more!I'm trying to teach myself how to set things on fire with my mind. Hey... is it hot in here? BikerBabe 0 #12 April 12, 2013 I tend to gravitate toward music that makes me feel uplifted and happy...and for me that's been electronic dance music (for the past 10 years or so). Anything by BT is a perennial favorite of mine, because i think he's brilliant and never fails to push musical and creative boundaries. something trance-y, his most recent: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ibGQyM96BeQ to switch it up, more mood, watch the video all the way, if you aren't crying, you have no heart: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HuNaL74B5k4 and my favorite, absolute favorite song that i can listen to over and over: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sbj5i3E6ugo I love the harder-hitting stuff too, like https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7plpaPaitl8 and yes, i like dubstep. and Progressive house, and electro. so many to look for clips, but Skrillex, Avicii, Hardwell, Deadmau5, Afrojack, Daft Punk (god, the tron legacy soundrack was the best thing about that movie), even getting into the more hip/hop side of things like Freestylers, Gorillaz, etc. the funniest part about it is...i hate clubbing. Just love the way the music makes me feel Never meddle in the affairs of dragons, for you are crunchy and taste good with ketchup!

In all seriousness, there was some damn fine music that came out between about 1938 and 1945, some of my favorite. For me, I'm stuck on Macklemore (thanks Jon!) for the moment.--"When I die, may I be surrounded by scattered chrome and burning gasoline."
