promise5 17 #51 September 28, 2013 Just for fun I asked my twin what smells reminded her of home. She actually said burnt food. I remember our mom always forgetting stuff in the oven but I really didn't think she burnt that much. She's the quirky twin anyway. No matter how slowly you say oranges it never sounds like gullible. Believe me I tried.
LuckyMcSwervy 0 #52 September 28, 2013 LuckyMcSwervy Ahhhhh..... - The inside of a police car. The smell of the electronics is very distinct and still makes me smile to this day! - Freshly cut grass - A horse stable - Atlantic City Boardwalk has a very distinctive smell. Roasting peanuts, salt air... my heart smiles when I smell AC. - Margate and Longport beaches on a breezy day - Sex Wax - Leather conditioner and brass polish (my Dad taking care of his police uniform gear) - Aviation exhaust is one of my all time favorite smells from childhood I know there's more... More: - Gunpowder residue on the back of my hands - Vick's VapoRub - Burning plastic (my brother lighting his model airplanes on fire to simulate getting shot down) - Polo by Ralph Lauren (green bottle)Always be kinder than you feel. Quote - Polo by Ralph Lauren (green bottle) That reminds me of high school, and wearing that stuff. Something you mentioned about electronics. One smell that reminds me of Christmas, more than pine scent and cinnamon, is the smell of new electronics packed in styrofoam, freshly unwrapped under the tree. It's a lot of the things I did with my dear Dad. I miss him sooooo much. I love threads like these because they make me remember things I hadn't thought of in yearssss. Newly opened electronics really do have a certain smell, don't they? I never thought about that but they do!! The Polo thing is probably from 7th or 8th grade when it first came on my radar. The boys were learning to smell good for the girls and us girlies were learning about boys and perfumes. My first high school boyfriend wore it and my most recent boyfriend wore it for me too. I know the police car electronics thing is weird but anyone who frequents one knows what smell I'm talking about, I think!!
