  1. I did the wind tunnel before doing my tandem. It took some of the ''surprise'' out for the tandem. The jump was cool, but not mind-blowing. Not 300$ worth. But where the tunnel really shine is when you do it on your own. Rather than taking the THRILL away (as what happened in the tandem), it instead gives you the CONFIDENCE to do AFF jumps. You get to apply what you learned from the tunnel in the real sky and that`s when you will go ''holy crap, the tunnel was SO worth it!''. While you're riding the plane up, you'l be ''OK, I can do this.. I did well in the tunnel so I think I can do well in the sky''. Tandem is only ''roller-coaster fun'' while AFF-solo-RW jumps feels a lot more ''inspiring-fun''. My guess is that you had SUCH HIGH expectations of the tandem that it was kind of a let-down. It was the same for me. But once you start AFF, and you've done a few jump, you'l end up saying: ''this...sport...is...made for me'' . So definitely definitely try at least a few more jumps (no more tandems!) because they are so much more fun.
  2. haha pretty funny. Though I don't think DZ.com is that extremely religious à la lettre to get offended
  3. http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/worldnews/northamerica/usa/9806921/Computer-programmer-outsourced-job-to-China.html Hahaha. Had to share this story. Cheers! Shc
  4. People have been predicting Facebook`s death since 2007. Probably going to live on until at least 2025-2030 (after that, then there`s a possibility it will just be a Yahoo).
  5. Till the parts show up on site and ground is broken, it's nothing but a wish list I've been to Skyventure Montreal and they seemed pretty re-assurant that Skyventure Toronto will happen. Not sure if its going be in 2013 though. Cheers! Shc
  6. You have to look WHO influenced these decisions. This is where you get things terribly wrong. Its about HOW the decisions were made and WHO helped make these final decisions. who influenced... I did look at HP closely and Whitman was very much part of these decisions. Just because she did her own version of a "big bath" doesn't take away that she too was at fault for HP's many catastrophic decisions. --- I'l give you an example: Let's say tomorrow the Taliban overruns the U.S bases and defeats the Americans. Complete defeat for the U.S Would the President be at fault? Yes obviously. and would the Generals in command of U.S forces in Afghanistan also be at fault too? Of course. Its as if you're telling me that the Generals weren't at fault at all because they weren't the President. The people who advised and influenced the bad decisions should also take their share of responsibility. Anyway, hope you understand better. Cheers!
  7. There is such a thing where you can REVERSE a decision. All of this is well documented and can easily be found in any noteworthy newspaper (even the WSJ). Look at their meetings in 2011. What was a major topic of conversation during 2011? Should Palm divison be sold and how to utilize Palm's software. What was her decision? let's keep the Palm and try to find a way to use it. Who influenced HP the most in keeping Palm? Whitman. This is all well documented. It failed catastrophically and Palm's division valuation went down under her leadership. Its the same thing with the computer division. She was all for selling off the computer division until the media backlash. You have to look at the details more often instead of media headliners/titles. The key thing to look at are the F/S notes. Cheers! Shc
  8. So she because she wasn't able to perform a miracle her first year, she shouldn't receive any bonus money? Did you bother to do any research to see what policies she might have put in place that might just take a while to produce some measurable results? Do you expect someone to turn a huge company like HP around in one year? If this had been a male, would you have the same attitude? More left wing war on women. Maybe she should have just stayed at home where she belongs. Oh and HP also bought Palm at 1.2 billion $ for its softwares which aren't being utilized at all. The Palm division had a valuation of approximately 22 million $ back in November. Cheers! Shc
  9. I've actually followed HP quite often and I think it can unanimously be said that her performance was pretty disastrous. HP was about to close their most profitable division (PCs and Laptops) and turn it into a pretty piss-poor software company. They went on to purchase software companies at a hefty premiums and are going now suing accounting company KPMG because they "overpaid a software company by 85%". HP, last year, was a joke in the business world. Its as if Microsoft stop selling Windows product and focused on selling their Zune MP3 products. Cheers! Shc
  10. Then do not do the interview; it really is very easy to say No. I caught Q.T. on Charlie Rose a week or so ago; that made me decide to skip his movie. What a dufus. JerryBaumchen Lol- Usually an interviewer/network will go on and say ''let's have an interview' and we'l talk about your film/foundation/charity only''. And when they are on the actual interview, they try to deviate from the subject. See interviews with Clinton and FoxNews; George Bush Sr and Jr; Reagan, Carter, etc... And continuously avoiding interviews will either lead up to a Romney-like secretive persona or a missed opportunity of advertising your organization/product/whatever. Lose-lose situation Cheers! Shc
  11. I don`t think he really lost it lol. Its just a firm ''lets change convo''
  12. This is just the beginning. You and your left wing buddies have no idea what you have unleashed on this country. It's not even worth debating it. We will just wait and the remind you we told you so. lol. You can look at Massachusetts' record now instead of predicting the usual doom & gloom. ... I don't understand how people were/are so compliant on paying 19% GDP to healthcare (double than any other Western countries) while the insurance stated goals (see the F/S mission statements) is to ''minimize expenditures''. Just another way of saying thank you while wiping your chin.
  13. ...or you can go back to the old system where America pays 19% of its GDP on healthcare then complain that ''taxes are too high''
  14. I`m pretty neutral on the gun debate but it amazes me that people are putting this much energy to save... assaults rifles. considering it seems to be the most popular rifle in North america, what is so amazing? Didn't you see the picture of Cary Price hunting coyotes in BC last week? Not really the point and no idea what was the point of bringing Carey Price lol. I love guns and hunting, but we seem quite desperate to keep them to the extent where we are using bogus arguments and we're not really discussing in good-faith. Its about ''what arguments can I bring up from my arse to sway the public opinion'' rather than ''Is it really the right thing to do?''. hey, got a few knocks on my door too from quite a few people who wanted me to join 2nd amendment protection. Its ''odd' that we are expanding so much energy on .... this?

  16. Tunnels are the best. Personally, I don't find tunnels all that "fun" (per cost) but it makes the actual skydiving jumps (esp AFF) MUCH more fun because of the confidence/skills you get from the tunnels. Cheers! Shc
  17. Do you know if there's any financial statements released? Anyway, it depends what they open at. For example Facebook is a great investment at 20B$-25B$ but a terrible one at anything over 45B$ valuation. They don't really have that many viable competitors that matches in terms of popularity (except maybe the the contour). Maybe Canon and Nikon could in the mid to long-term but doesn't seem to fit their niche at all. As long as the economy is better, action sport popularity goes up and sales for these "non-necessities" would inevitably go up too. So they are a very interesting company and should have be worth a look. Cheers! Shc
  18. From a purely business/industry perspective, if we base on historical studies, a flat tax has proven to be pretty damaging in the past bc of factors such as externality and industries which normal capitalism is inapplicable. There are some writings by Milton Friedman that explains this in-depth Cheers! Shc
  19. I find it hilarious that you want the Government to be more efficient yet right after that line, you end up blaming one side. Maybe Just maybe we are in this situation because we keep putting the blame on one another. Cheers!
  20. There was almost a gun shooting in Norway today. except the gunman had no gun. I wonder why the media isin't covering that.
  21. well that was due to the drought caused by irregular climate in this year's harvest. Cheers! Shc
  22. Its weird that we keep calling the "fiscal cliff". Its not really a cliff. Last year's debt ceiling was a real cliff due to legal implications/contractual obligations. Most spending cuts and tax increase would only affect the economy 6-8 months from now. And if something can be done around January and February, it could be applied retro-actively with minimal economic collateral damages. The stock market might however be affected because investors' expectation is that it would be solved on "December 31st". What's going to happen: -No deal over the "fiscal cliff". -The house and congress gets a deal done in January and both Democrats and Republicans can claim they "cut taxes". -Nothing else much happens until the next debt ceiling debate Cheers! 23. I like Piers- makes the CNN interviews much more entertaining.
