  1. Lucky bastard, Timmay! I guess working for Airbus out in Seville has some advantages.. "In the beginning the Universe was created. This has made a lot of people very angry and been widely regarded as a bad move."
  2. Bodyflight Bedford, over here in the UK. Think they shot that part in the tunnel too.. E "In the beginning the Universe was created. This has made a lot of people very angry and been widely regarded as a bad move."

    Struggling

I can't say it any better then Sarah. People go through bad and horrible times in their life, but no matter how hopeless you feel at the moment, it WILL get better! I live in Bristol, have sent you a PM. We're all here for you, and we want to help. Eugene "In the beginning the Universe was created. 5. The flag's Malaysian, there's something about the number of points that i really should remember Eugene "In the beginning the Universe was created. This has made a lot of people very angry and been widely regarded as a bad move."
  6. 1. Bloody chavs who are too stupid to use headphones, blaring out the rubbish-shite-noise they think is music from their mobile phones. 2. Seeing people making a judgement on something that they don't know the first thing about. 3. People not taking responsibilities for their own actions and blaming everyone and everything. 4. People who go through AFF only for the bragging rights, and never jump again. Then go around trying to impress girls with badly made up stories.. Eugene "In the beginning the Universe was created. This has made a lot of people very angry and been widely regarded as a bad move."
  7. Is there going to be an ash jump Sushi buffet? I would be what Sharky would have wanted. "In the beginning the Universe was created. This has made a lot of people very angry and been widely regarded as a bad move."
  8. So, when are you next coming to a social? *Puts 10 pounds on the table*
  9. I understand what you mean, for a digital display, it all depends on what it's programmed to do when it fails. It could hold and display the last proper value, or it could be programmed to display a warning when it fails. I'm just hoping that for an altimeter it would display a big warning when it does fail rather then display faulty data. Eugene "In the beginning the Universe was created. This has made a lot of people very angry and been widely regarded as a bad move."
  10. You got to keep in mind the failure modes of analog and digital altimeters. For example, digital fails, you get nothing on the screen and you realise that it is broken the next time you look at it. Analog fails, needle get's stuck and the next time you see it, you still see an altitude reading. Not that i'm saying that digital altimeters are more reliable then analogs, but it's just something a friend got me thinking about. Eugene "In the beginning the Universe was created. 11. Yeah. That way, the shooter wouldn't have had to chain the door shut to keep the intended victims in. On top of that, how practical would it to be to lockdown a town everytime someone got shot? Eugene "In the beginning the Universe was created. This has made a lot of people very angry and been widely regarded as a bad move."
  12. No worries, we're thinking along similar lines anyway.
  13. I don't think you read what i wrote, you quoted something i quoted from someone else. What i was saying was to remove the reason behind the attack. Eugene "In the beginning the Universe was created. This has made a lot of people very angry and been widely regarded as a bad move."
  14. I've been spending too much time thinking about it i think! Now, if i were to be really politically incorrect, i'll get a German WW2 88mm flak guns and put then near the DZ in Germany that the British militry jump at.. How wrong/right would that be? Now, if i can get it to fire confetti out of the barrels for extra realism... Yup, too much time on my hands Eugene "In the beginning the Universe was created. This has made a lot of people very angry and been widely regarded as a bad move."
  15. Looks like we both have the same view of the world, i was at speakers corner for a bit, a finding it a bit hard to change track quickly
  16. Don't think i can personally blame G.W. Bush for it, I've always taken what i hear with a pinch of salt, from all sides, i know i'm not getting the whole story. And aren't the Saudi's America's main ally in the region? I'm Malaysian born, Singapore bred, and British educated, i like to think that i can sift through the news and spot the bias and spin of the stories. For me it might be because i've long thought of getting a de-activated 40mm Bofors anti-aircraft gun and putting it at the dropzone as a joke..
  17. Just thinking out loud here... Carbon dioxide doesn't generate heat on it's own, It traps heat in atmosphere. And Solar forcing depends partly on the atmosphere to trap heat. Unless you're measuring the wattage absorbed on bare rock without an overlying atmosphere, what do they use as standard for measuring solar forcing? Blackbody absorption? Feel free to poke holes in my thinking... Eugene "In the beginning the Universe was created. This has made a lot of people very angry and been widely regarded as a bad move."
  18. I'll have to say, remove the cause. If the reason, according to their ideology, remains, they can always find another target. No matter how much the security is tightened, sooner or later, another one would go through. More troops would/might reduce the frequency of the attack, but won't stop it completely. Just my 2 cents, feel free to pick apart my argument, i'm here to learn. Eugene "In the beginning the Universe was created. This has made a lot of people very angry and been widely regarded as a bad move."
  19. Most birds do swoop landings anyway. They don't need to do 270s to get into a dive, though, as their wings can move independantly. For some reason, when I saw this thread title, i got this mental image in my head: "Man clad in traditional arabian clothes holding a bazooka and shooting down people who were swooping into traffic in the landing area at a DZ." Hmm, i got a similar mental image, but only with an anti-aircraft gun... Eugene "In the beginning the Universe was created. This has made a lot of people very angry and been widely regarded as a bad move."
  20. KL is a bit far from the coast, and the west coast is right along the strait or malacca, one of the busiest waterways in the world.. Anything between Singapore and Penang would be a mess. For good beaches best bet would be up in Penang island, or the Langkawi islands further north. The best beaches by far in West Malaysia would be off the east coast, the Redang and Perhentian islands. But it'll be a trek to get there. Eugene *edited because i can't spell properly past midnight* "In the beginning the Universe was created. This has made a lot of people very angry and been widely regarded as a bad move."
  21. Hey, though i'm from malaysia, there others here that knows KL far better then I do! If anything, you have to try the food! Satays are a must, as well as Roti Prata, Nasi lemak, Hinanese chicken rice, Steamboat... Jsut about the only thing i miss is the food. There's an old Dim Sum restaurant that opens in the mornings on Petaling Street, old school but best in the city. And the local fruits, Jackfruit, Mangosteen, Rambutans, and especially durians... It's an aquired taste but it tastes a lot better then it smells and it's a must when visiting the region. Around there... Batu caves are worth a visit, Malacca as well, as others have reccommended. Lots of history dating back from when the Dutch and Portugese where there. There's the Cameron Highlands, and old colonial hill station with a tea plantation, and Genting highland, which personally the main attraction being the wind tunnel there. If you got the time, the Taman Negara rainforest reserve is worth a look, but it's a bit of a trek. This is the best i can think of at the moment, i'll be more then glad to help with any questions there is. Oh, and watch out for the traffic there, the lights seems to be more of a suggestion sometimes! Hope you have fun. Eugene "In the beginning the Universe was created. This has made a lot of people very angry and been widely regarded as a bad move."
  22. ...How do you know? Experience? Funny enough.. yes At my home DZ they fence sheeps in parts of the LZ of it to trim the grass, landed among them a few times, they kind of give you a dirty look and go back to eating grass
  23. I'm sure you will find plenty who agree in this forum. Yeah...far to few DZ's are located close to cows anymore! Yeah, sheeps are just not the same... Eugene "In the beginning the Universe was created. This has made a lot of people very angry and been widely regarded as a bad move."
  24. Good luck with learning chinese, it's a challanging language to learn! Mandarin is the one to learn, it's the official dialect in China, especially in the big cities. The others are pretty much just different dialects. Eugene "In the beginning the Universe was created. This has made a lot of people very angry and been widely regarded as a bad move."
  25. It's getting to the next point that'll get trickier
