  1. Steve: I have loops on my Bev suit and they do work well. Like anything, you need to practice with them a few times. After practice, they really halp me and my exit weight is 225 #. good luck
  2. I agree, they should be allowed to compete. Plus, they are the PR unit for the Army. Having just jumped with them two weeks ago, I found them to be professional on camera and off. After all, they are just people like all of us. Sure they cut up and have fun out of the public's eye, but what profession doesn't? Above all off camera, they were fun, helpful and of the utmost safety minded. Just my .02$

    Kiss pass

It is a real RW drill. But I will uphold the motto of the rest of you. Plus, some things are better left with only those involved! Stay Safe
  5. It is easier to stay up then to get back up. I gained wieght, suit got a bit tight and I was frequently low. Got a bigger (right size) suit and try to stop above the formation. Hang in there, eventually it will work! Remember : have fun!
  6. Thanks for the link. Always fun to read another's perspective of things.
  7. Congrats, job well done and you learned more stuff.
  8. I still remember what the tandem master told me on my first tandem. "You will love this sport, from now on, all you have to do is take your paycheck and have direct deposit to the DZO" Turns out, he was right! What you don't spend on "stuff", you spend on lift tickets! Stay Safe . . . Bill
  9. Hi Dave; You don't have to be in Texas to defend your castle! Here in Ohio, they would face the same fate in my home as they would in yours. Okay, maybe a Louisville slugger instead of an ax handle, but the same end result. "Gun control = firm two handed grip and good sight picture"
  10. Good words for everyone. Often, a license is not an indication of quality. A license reflects number of jumps and filling a form. Skydiving is great fun, but always more fun with someone. When I first started, I was elated to be invited on anything and learned from all jumps. Then, began lots of solo on my belly. Got bored. Tried the dark side. People then offered to help/coach, jump free fly and I learned a lot. Now, looking back = I try to always say an encouraging word to the first time tandem person. Build them up, and encourage them. I look for the solo jumper and ask to jump with them either RW or sit. It is all about fun, and what is more fun then freely giving back what others before us gave to us? The look of acceptance and accomplishment on the newer jumper is reward enough. Sometimes when people freely jumped with me and helped me, I would secretly go to manifest and pay for one of their jumps. Then I could see them smile. Thanks to all that helped me, it is never forgotten. Stay Safe . . . . Bill
  11. I agree, get a coach, preferable with video. 40 seconds of video on the ground is worth 10 minutes in the air. Practice lots of 2 ways, after all, a 20 way is just 10 - 2 ways. Hang in there, it gets better. Stay Safe. . . . Bill

  20. Greetings: I went to Tecumseh with Aerohio's Super Twin Otter. We spent the day jumping and meeting the local jumpers. It was a great place with even greater jumpers. I can't speak for the corn fields! It was a great place and I look forward to our return trip. Stay Safe. . . . . . Bill

Yes, Bobby has the Westwind and a pilot full time for the rest of the summer. He will even fly it during the week if enough jumpers are there.

    Cobra Canopy

Thanks for the information (with hesitation) I will jump it this week end. At least now with the information I can plan for no plane out and a hard landing. Thanks . . Bill
  24. I have a Sabre II - 170 wing loaded at 1.3 and I love it. I don't really roll the nose to pack it. I give the noe one roll (light) and roll the tail about 6 - 7 times. Opens nice, soft, on heading. Snivel is about 500 ft and quite acceptable for me. Flies really nice also. Happy Trails. . . . Bill
