Permanent would be considerd a bit excessive I think. Warnings, suspension and banning should be the correct order to do things. Not just warnings and then, thats it, you are gone. Actually, I am a parent of 3. And no, I have never been a mod. But I have been managing people for 11yrs now and have learned how people should be diciplined for their actions. I have not once let anyone go without going through the process of warnings, suspensions and in the end, termination. I am not saying that the mods have an easy job keeping people in-line on the forums, being that there are just so many people. I just want to know if it is fair to only give someone xxx amount of warnings and then tell them they will be permanently banned if they even talk about it? Does not seem fair to me. Private site or not, it still seems a bit harsh. Giving someone warnings is like slapping a kid on the hand and telling him NO!! Does it stop them from repeating themselves, No. You dont ground them for life do you? You dont take away their favorite toy permanently do you? No, you dont. You start off with a lighter punishment and then work your way up from there. It is a new year, give the guy a month long suspension and then let him back in the community. Awesome write up on stalling your canopy. I will definately use that as a reference along with any advice a canopy coach has to offer me before I do any jumps to work on canopy control. I wouldnt say that I am bitching about how they moderate the forums. I could really care less. But I would like to know if it was justfiable and fair for their reasoning to banning him permanently. There are a lot of other people on this forum that would probably like to know so that in the future, they to might not make the same mistakes. I dont think that is to much to ask of.....right? Yes, getting banned permanently is a bit far fetched.....dont you think? Has he ever been banned for certain time frames (15,30,60 days...etc)? Or did someone have a hair up their ass or have it out for him for whatever reason just because? Can someone just be banned from a certain thread or does it have to be the whole sub-forum they were posting in? If he has never had a suspension from "The Bonfire" it would be more sensible to start there instead of going straight to permanent banning. Just a little curious and would like to know. So when I try to stall my canopy using toggles, I am pulling them both down to the point of where I can not go any more and holding them till my canopy buckles in to a horseshoe shape and then release? Ok, so now that I have my own rig, I really want to put a huge focus on canopy control. I have no intentions on down sizing anytime soon and really want to learn everything that my canopy can do (sabre2 210). I did a search for canopy control drills and found nothing useful really. I did read Billvons write up on things to be able to do with your canopy before you should consider down sizing. So I plan on spending a few days doing nothing but H&P soon and would like to know what other canopy control drills you guys do to really get the most out of your canopy. I normally do H&P at 3k, but do not feel that is a suitable amount of altitude. What altitude would you suggest getting out at? I just got my first rig back in October and the feeling of knowing that it is all mine, is great!! It is nice going to the DZ and knowing that I dont have get there really early just to snag up one of the only 2 rigs that have the size canopy suited for my experience level. Well I dont know about any suits yet, but I do have a Cookie Ozone. It is very comfy, has two pockets for audibles and has really good forehead protection.
