I have started getting in to video editing recently. I was using the AVS 6 video editor and just recently got Sony Vegas Pro 10. Is there any good sites out there that offer advice on how to do a little bit more of the advanced type editing? I got a lot of the basics down. Just ready to start taking it a bit further. You will get a ton of different answers to this question. You will hear that some people prefer the Javelin over Wings or Infinity over Mirage. All of the container systems great quality and offer there own unique features. Best thing for you to do is to go each manufacturers website and read up on each one. Make a list of the pros and cons of each one. Then start narrowing it down to what you can afford and what discipline you would eventually end up working on. But no matter what container you end up with, new or used, you will end up with a decent container that will suit your needs. If you know anyone at your DZ that would be willing to let you try on or maybe even jump their rig, given that it fits properly and the canopy size is proper for your skill level. It takes me about 10-15 minutes to get out to Lodi depending on traffic, 25-30 minutes to get out to Byron and about an hour if I want to go to either Skydive Sac or Skydance. I have a pair of EG freefly pants and wondered if there is a specific way to wash them so they do not shrink? Finish up with your training and the talk with your instructors and rigger to determine what gear would be best suited for your skill level. I am playing back video through the USB cable straight from the camera. I tried using different media players and found that my windows media player can not playback settings 1-4, but can play back setting 5. With the VLC media player, I can playback video on each setting, but it kinda pauses as the camera moves. When I playback on Quicktime, it will playback without any issues. So I figure the issue is with the windows media player, but dont understand why it will play the highest resolution setting and not the lower resolution settings. Dont worry, I am not using for skydiving. My wife bought it for me as a birthday gift not knowing that there is a 200 jump minimum for jumping with a camera. So I figure since I have it, might as well use it while doing other things. Here is my issue. I bought a Lexar 16GB SDHC Class 4 card for it and get real choppy video footage and settings 1-4. Video quality on 5 is just fine. Also, I have no issues with stills on settings 1-5. I formatted the card in the camera and the video is still choppy. I contacted GoPro and their response was that my card is probably not compatible with the camera and I should use a Kingston or a Patriot. So I got a Kingston 16GB SDHC Class 6 card and I still get the video choppiness on settings 1-4. I did format this card in the camera before using also. I contacted GoPro and have not received a response as of yet. Has anyone else experienced this same issue? Speedracer~I predict that Michael Jackson will rise from the dead.
