  1. I had bought a 1st gen venom second hand, it fits pretty well it might be a hair too tall(can still get fabric tight)... 200+ jumps on my r bird (my everyday flier) and a 100 or so split between an s bird and x bird... When I fly the venom it feels very loose (handling wise). It seems like the suit constantly wants to rotate on me. I'm covering a lot more distance compared to the r bird, while maintaining similar fall rates (longer for venom). Think I'm flying it to slow forward ? Suit length affecting me ? Any tips ?
  2. Some friends wanted to see one and the best way I knew to get into one is repeat the mistakes I made while learning barrel rolls, which was to keep the leg wing open as I twisted for the roll .... I'll change the name to "intentionally putting myself into a non controllable orbit and recovering" ... Or maybe "recover from an unwanted position" ... But that sounds dirty
  3. i never had much luck with the collapsed wings deep arch by itself i prefer to kill the wings by balling up, stop the spin, then arch to get back to belly to earth... done it a bunch of times with my rbird but thats not a huge suit, trying to not flat spin the venom video showing my friend a flat spin and recovery www.youtube.com/watch?v=stKOwHBSVwM
  4. Randy and I were thinking about going down there for a halo jump, should see if we can time it when you are there and break another record lol
  5. yea im a screamer lol video from it all http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rjhNtzLdwLY&hd=1
  6. don't you remember when they glued them together ? my rbird has not done damage to my mirage or my icon ... if that helps you
  7. wish i could man i just got back from a base trip, my funds are um low .. lol :) thanks for the offer though .. any tips ? suggestions ? should i use my intro instead of my rbird or just quit crying and try the jump lol
  8. when i went to the rbird i did it from an intro and for the first 10 jumps i felt very unstable and it also felt like it wanted to do a diving turn first r-bird jump http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NYReyX0aSCw in fact you can see in the video, when i do turn i dive pretty hard after a couple jumps i got used to how it flew and what needed to be done now im getting 3 minute flights (solo) and have no stability problems http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2hiCN3l8Xl8
  9. first i tend to over think things ..lol i searched didn't find what i was looking for any hints on a good exit from skyvan ? just dirt dive timing on the ground ? i have an r bird and the arm wings come down pretty far (towards feet) i know i need to keep her off the arm wings but where else can she go ? lay down on top of me/rig resting legs on the leg wing ? seems like i should be most concerned with keeping her off the arm wings im confident in both of our skills just want to get some opinions from people that have been in the same boat any help would be appreciated .. i have about 100 wingsuit jumps 60ish of which are on the r bird
  10. i converted to a srt file with paralog though its relatively easy to write one if you know and programming languages .. i wrote one in vb but paralog is just more convenient lol
  11. up at skys the limit yesterday and did some wingsuit jumps got my longest time to date (2.5 minutes) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Jkc5EhuGQw8&hd=1 and some cloud fun http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2hiCN3l8Xl8&hd=1 jumping an r-bird flysight was set at 2:1 glide winds were less then 8 all the way up to 13.5 im shooting for a semi constant 3:1 glide think this is doable on the rbird ? (im 5'10" 195lb exit weight)
  12. any idea what the mod is ? couldn't find any info on there site thanks d
  13. i got lucky my friend who is the exact size of me had started with wingsuits earlier then me ... so when he went from his access to his intro .. i started the access lol then he got an r-bird and i got his intro .. now we both rock the r-bird and i only had to buy the r-bird
  14. i bought a benny helmet for my first helmet thinking that i would get some other fancy dancy helmet after more jumps ... nope i still have my benny have two camera mounts on it and a skysystems cutaway gps data still not too useful gonna try it with the wingsuit this weekend
  15. i managed to get my protrack to think i popped at 11k with my tx intro
  16. the assistnow just helps it on a cold startup... that being said i did have the 3 day data on the camera but i did try it on 4hz while skydiving and it didn't work too well as a gps altitude wasn't even close to being correct(600 ft) and it only changed +- 10 ft . i don't know if there was some other issue, it was really cold i would like to try it again with the wingsuit and see how it likes that.
  17. i actually did that on purpose i didn't want the negative value on there in freefall lol. i changed it to an absolute number in a later version so as to not have negative numbers anywhere but good catch. the gps data is actually embedded inside the .mov file, so when you look in the folder on the camera all you see is file1.mov, file2.mov etc. their storyteller software allows you to either upload the video to their webpage which then shows the gps data via google maps beside the video or i believe in the newest version rip the gps data out, but for the life of me i can't get the software to run on either of my computers (vista-32 laptop win7-64 desk) . so i wrote a program to do it for me . fyi easy edit is being dropped story teller is the newest program they have all that being said i still absolutely love the cameras
  18. still mode will take 1 picture every 3, 5, 10, 30, or 60 seconds i have them both the hd1080 and the gps version though i haven't been able to get out with the gps yet they did just provide a firmware upgrade which allows you to change the gps rate from 1hz up to 4hz i got it because im tired of videoing other people all the time lol and my friends original no hd gopro sucks so im going to let him "borrow" the hd1080p and the gps feature seemed cool if it works well enough i will say i had alot of problems with there software and the gps locks you into there software because thats the only way to get useable gps data ... which annoyed me ... so i found someone that made a program to export the data to a txt file and i wrote a program to write the txt file in to a subtitle file with all the calculations i want short clip of the results ( inside my car though) shows altitude (msl though with the newest revision it switches to agl) vertical speed horizontal speed and glide ratio (wingsuit) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5O2mu-W-ZNc&hd=1 this was at 1hz and i had the cruise control on for most of it (testing the recording more then the gps at the time)
  19. soo i started flying a wingsuit (s-fly access) have about 14 on that and 4 on a tonysuit intro i plan to try and get atleast 14 on the intro but whats next ? i was told by a proshop that a tonysuit r-bird would be perfect im 5'10" 200lb exit weight this seem like a natural progression ? i don't want to go too big to quick though i haven't had an issue with either suit ive found the best glide for me with them and all the areas of instability in between and even got taken out by another wingsuit who veered into my burble (i went head down but recovered right away) thanks for any guidance
  20. i have the droid incredible which is now rooted and overclocked (and undervolt at idle) and i love it great phone before but after rooting you have soo much more options reasons i will never go to anything apple 1. the app store and all the hoops you must jump through to get anything on there 2. no replaceable battery and no ext memory(might be different with the 4 haven't looked at it much) 3. Apples whole "its not our fault its yours" philosophy 4. Apple fan boys/girls that are so strung out on apple that if they sneeze one will pop out of there butt .. the whole death grip thing sealed the deal for me .. i know they are owning up to it now and giving out the bumpers but the fact that they waited this long to do so and still really did not accept responsibility ( even though your holding the phone wrong we will give out covers just to make up for your mistake)
  21. so i was looking at my friends AFF material and was a little confused when i got my A-license i was given an A-License Proficiency Card and i noticed his was a lot different then mine (different dz); then i saw it had a different title his says A-license progression card at the top . what gives ? lol might be a stupid question but just curious
  22. Ordered a custom suit (fully custom not a pre designed one ) took my own measurements sent them off to Angela and she hooked it up nicely suit flys great stitches look great will definitely order from them again.
  23. looks nice but im always hesitant on a bike with aftermarket paint ... fairings.. but if you go look at it just see how it was taken care of .. is the brake fluid black ?(shouldnt be) oil level where it should be? chain adjusted correctly; is it rusted ? .. simple maintenance items that alot of people are too lazy to do .. and if they are to lazy to do that what else are they not doing.. and while i do agree that 600cc's are more then enough for the road i could never go back to one after driving my liter bikes .. so nice to not have to rev the piss out them had a 95 kan-a-tuna (katana) 04 zx6r 06 zx10r now i rock the 09 ducati 1198
  24. yea im leaning towards freefly and wingsuits ... on my 8th aff jump (back/front loops) i was sit flying and fell in love lol .. and after i get alot of experience i wanna try a wing suit out
