So the new episode of Entourage aired last night and at the end of the show "Vince" does a solo jump from the Perris Skyvan. It's an uncut scene where he stands up and dive's out of the skyvan, did he really do this jump? Anyone have anymore info on this?

Normally I would agree that Hollywood usually ruins movies like this but David Fincher is a genius and has an extreme attention to detail and accuracy so I have no doubt that his version will be amazing.

The book is great, I haven't seen the movie yet but I have it in my Netflix queue. David Fincher is directing the American film for this movie which I'm really excited about, currently in pre-production.

I know you said skydiving aside but in L.A. you can goto the beach, go skydiving, and go snowboarding all in the same day, though the close snow is pretty pathetic. As for driving from L.A. to elsinore/perris, if you only jump on the weekends the drive is only about 1-1.5 hours of clear driving, if you jump during the week though it's a whole 'nother story.

I got mine already and I love it. The screen is absoutely gorgeous, best looking cellphone screen I've seen. I used to have an iphone and this phone is better in almost every way for me, but then again I am a technical person and enjoy the amount of customization Android phones have, and despise Apple's "everyone's phone looks and works exactly the same way."

I'm currently going through aff at Perris and I'd recommend waiting til after your FJC to get tunnel time. All the training you'll do in your FJC will help you alot for flying in the tunnel after. Also keep in mind that if you do your FJC at Perris it will include 2-minutes in the tunnel. They also have a deal at the tunnel: $240 for 10-minutes of coached tunnel time and if you fail your next aff jump they'll pay for the repeat. Have Fun!

Yes, you can. You'll just need to format the external drive as Fat32 filesystem. Which to keep it easy for you means plug it into your Windows box first. I used to use Scottrade. Overall it's pretty good and they have great customer service, and lots of local branches to go in and talk to someone face-to-face if you want to. The site can be a bit confusing but there's lots of resources available. Scottrade or Etrade are good if you just wanna mess around with some stocks, they both have low minimum deposits to get started and relatively cheap trades. I use Fidelity now because they seem a bit more professional/higher end and offer better managed accounts, and well they're Fidelity so they're huge. Fidelity requires a $2500 minimum deposit to start trading and the trades are more expensive than others at $20 a trade unless you do 36+ trades a year then it gets cheaper.

I want to get some indoor plants to spruce up the house and help clean the air so I start browsing the internets for suggestions on good low maintenance indoor plants only to discover .....Holy Shit!! Plants are expensive Anyone know how to get some good free/cheap plants? Besides stealing them or getting them from a friend.

In your opinion then do you feel that a skyhook equipped rig is not ideal for someone's first rig? Being a student I've been doing lots of research on rigs beofre I buy one and I've been reading up on skyhook systems alot. Because of the complexity it adds is it more suited for experienced divers?

Can anyone recommend a decent hotel/motel close by to stumble to on Saturday night. I'm gonna be in Perris doing some aff jumps and wanna goto the party after and don't wanna have to drive all the way back to L.A. There's a Best Western about a mile away that I found that looks ok, but about $85 a night, anyone know some better spots to stay?

I'll be in perris saturday morning doing a couple of my aff jumps, will I be able to buy some raffle tickets in the morning?

I've been pondering this same question. What I decided I'm going to do is get a Galaxy and a Neptune. That way I will always have a reliable mechanical altimeter and I'll also have the Neptune as a backup visual alti, plus an electronic logbook, and can also use it as an audible for later on when I start freeflying. It's a little more money this way but then you'll always have a backup visual altimeter also, and if you opt to buy an Altitrack now, then if you decide to start freeflying you'll probably want to get an audible so now you're really spending more money. Galaxy + Neptune gives you: 1 Mechanical Altimeter 1 Digital Altimeter (backup) An Electronic Logbook An Audible Like you I was going to just get an Altitrack, but then if you add the cost of an audible and/or a backup altimeter then cost becomes much more.

I've never failed an aff jump and I don't plan to either :) I just thought it might be a good opportunity to get some tunnel time with a coach.
