  1. It's probably similar here. I bet people in Bavaria (our Texas so to say ;-) are usually quite firm in their beliefs and, that is why, more tolerant if others do not share these beliefs. And yes, people there are usually more polite than folks in the more "Pruzzian" northern states. There are many exceptions from the "rule", though - I myself come from the state of Brandenburg, the most "Pruzzian" state but was raised to always be polite just like an American Southerner (lift hat when entering a building, hold doors open, greet everybody that approaches you, comes into your room, offer seat to elderly etc pp) The sky is not the limit. 2. Sigh. Laws as in "judicial" are made by parliaments. Religions may call it "laws" but they are, in fact, just rules to the followers of that very religion. Speaking of which: If you observe the rules of the Bible in a very strict way you have the harshest "laws" to inflict upon homosexuals. And the Catholic Church in the medieval times happily used their power to have state laws (if necessary at all) follow suit. Ah, the good ol' times, where them fags who refuse to behave in a fashionable way and are not willing to explain what they want could be burnt on a stake! (IRONY/SARCASM!!!) So, there must be other reasons than the rules put up by a religion towards homosexuals for this religion to spread successfully. BTW: Transitioning is not only NOT FORBIDDEN in the Islamic Republic of Iran*, but also paid for. OTOH, homosexuality is severely punishable. Kinda weird, kinda inconsistent. Things that happen when there's no separation between Church/Religion and State/legal laws. * A country I'd never ever go to, just to say. The sky is not the limit. The ground is. 3. This gem needed to be cited. Even a short googling around the net should provide you with useful insight. Open-minded talk to LGBT persons also should suffice to enlarge your knowledge. But it needs to be open-minded as in unbiased, non-prejudiced or simply liberal. The sky is not the limit. The ground is. The Society of Skydiving Ducks
  4. You know shit about what you are talking. What you call "transgender male (end state)" is referred to as transman. Or maybe it's a clumsy try to refer to transwomen (such as Jennifer Finney Boylan or Chris Tina Bruce) Just go and do some proper research to come up with proper terms. And hell yes, trans people can be gay just as cis people can. Who cares? The sky is not the limit. The ground is. The Society of Skydiving Ducks
  5. Of course they should. The only facts that matter is whether the kids can grow up in a loving and caring environment. This is not a question of sexual organs this is a question of the heart, as this surprising video shows. Be ashamed by common Texas people and their truly Souther manners (and big hearts) when it comes to "and YOU raise kids like this?" The sky is not the limit. The ground is. 6. Or watch this short but impressive video at youtube. It addresses all questions the OP has asked though I seriously doubt they might reach his ratio not to talk about his heart... Me, too. Just an interesting question: Couple raises kids. Kids grow up, some day leave the nest and live straight, happy and successful lives. Hubbie finally admits to himself and transitions; wife stays with her partner. It has happened and it will happen again and again. Does this, in the eyes of the religious zealots, still put the children in danger? The sky is not the limit. The ground is. The Society of Skydiving Ducks
  7. That was hilarious. Thanks for sharing. The sky is not the limit. The ground is. The Society of Skydiving Ducks
  8. "they found that women from households with more traditional divisions of labor felt no less happy with their sex lives than women in more gender-neutral ones." That's what really counts to me. 9. And the students who suffer a myocardial infarction (and die subsequently) hopefully also donate their bodies... Aren't I sarcastic today, heh? The sky is not the limit. The ground is. The Society of Skydiving Ducks
  10. Unfortunately not, it's Ausfahrt. But nevertheless, I like the word above ;-) I also like the Dutch word "Uitrit" which - to someone speaking German - sounds like "Ausritt", which means to have a ride on a horse. The sky is not the limit. The ground is. The Society of Skydiving Ducks
  11. You just lost 3/4 of the people here.... I 'member the 2006 championships in Gera. There was this special woman roaming the premises thumping a set of rules demanding to get unlimited access to all video material for her own documentary. I was send to negotiate with her as I was the only guy around to be speaking English in a sufficient way. Well, speaking English was not really the challenge, so to say... The old farts who I complained to later had a good laugh about me... The sky is not the limit. The ground is. The Society of Skydiving Ducks
  12. Then there's "Bad Kissingen" (http://goo.gl/maps/v4zT2) The word "Bad" means "Bath" - a place where people can go to cure or alleviate ailments, quite often by bathing in warm water ;-) Near my town, there is a small town called "Lederhose". Tourists are usually fascinated. No leather trousers are made there, though ;-) The sky is not the limit. The ground is. The Society of Skydiving Ducks
  13. I am an organ donor. We need to fill in an organ donor card here in Germany. Result, along with several scandals (arising from greed and the shortage of organs available) is a huge need. AFAIK Austria has a - at least to my mind - much better system: If you do not want to be a donor you have to state it. (Opt-out solution, IIRC) If anyone chooses not to be a donor, for whatever reasons, that's OK with me; I do not judge. But I think if you do not want to be a donor you should state this expressis verbim. BTW: I will organise for my body to be totally donated, not only the organs. I mean, doctors-to-be need bodies to work with / practise with. But that's another topic, I suppose... The sky is not the limit. The ground is. The Society of Skydiving Ducks
  14. Check out the shirts: http://beaverliquors.com/beaver-apparel-for-men-and-women/apparel.html The beaver fucking the rabbit shirt... The 10 way T-shirt was also kinda funny, though a little too direct, but hey it's related to heavy spirits... The sky is not the limit. The ground is. The Society of Skydiving Ducks

  16. I like the Master Bait shop best. And as for Curl up and Dye - Hair salons here are notorious for their "phunny" names. Things like: Hair2O - that really funny? The sky is not the limit. The ground is. The Society of Skydiving Ducks
  17. Somehow this telling name is kinda unintentionally funny, or is it just me thinking so? The sky is not the limit. The ground is. The Society of Skydiving Ducks

  19. That's a great site, discovered it today on FB. Funny thing is, you really need to be in the game to get the puns/jokes The sky is not the limit. The ground is. The Society of Skydiving Ducks
  20. What you wrote sounds absolutely OK to me. I do appreciate other skydiver's cheering up students in an unobtrusive way. I do object if other skydivers interfere with my students, especially if they touch 'em even when well-intended. The sky is not the limit. The ground is. The Society of Skydiving Ducks
  21. That's fucking unjust. Found this chart which puts it pretty neat. If more money is spent on prisoners than on students (or hard-working employees) something is very wrong! The sky is not the limit. The ground is. The Society of Skydiving Ducks
  22. Or you might ask for cross-country skier's "undergloves". They are usually made of a silk-like fabric, are really thin and keep your hands really warm. Even when you go XC skiing at -15°C for 3 hours! Ask for ODLO, they're the best, best, best! The sky is not the limit. The ground is. The Society of Skydiving Ducks
  23. Pic looks like a human stick of roll-on deodorant! As we say in Germany: Scheiße aussehen, gut fliegen. (Look like shit, fly well. - Loses much when translated.) The sky is not the limit. The ground is. The Society of Skydiving Ducks

  25. Oh this is so great. I suppose skydivers prone to passing gas should also have their jumpsuits lined with charcoal and be seated next to the lavatory... wait, that shall only be a bucket far aft? Well, place them next to the door but take care they do not roll it up under 1500 ft The sky is not the limit. The ground is. The Society of Skydiving Ducks
