  1. I'm holding out for the new version....... http://www.rochmalnuit.com/course.php?L=en&Id=413 LOL Edited to add that when I last saw this, it was gripperless but very big! www.gathhelmets.co.uk www.flyyourbody.com
  2. Thanks to FLB et al.! Goodbye WWWN. www.gathhelmets.co.uk www.flyyourbody.com
  3. Cheers, Lurch! You answered my question. Kudos to you and Keith for going public as odds on others have the same question. Ross www.gathhelmets.co.uk www.flyyourbody.com
  4. Keith, Have you actually had bad hesitations on all your suits? Do you have a "weak throw" - Have you seen it on video? How old is you pilot chute? To each there own.... Of course, I have the metalwork for life too! However, I feel compelled to bite for which I apologise to everyone else. Please just think about: 1) Impact on work, friends and family if injured (to any extent)? 2) Being grounded for a while for one too many low pulls etc. (assuming hesitations are that bad)? 3) Why deliberately use up your luck bucket to fill up your experience bucket (to paraphrase Jeb, I think? 4) Earning wingsuiters a bad reputation at your DZ or further a field and/or contributing to them being band, potentially? 5) People not wanting to fly with you? 6) Not being able to prove your experience at other DZs with no log book? Fly in different parts of the world, making new friends is one of the best things ever! 7) Running the risk of extra paperwork for staff at your local DZ? 5. A few questions: Is this a fun demonstration team or a more serious competition team? Is this to fly together in Finland or travel for camps/projects abroad etc.? Cheers, Ross www.gathhelmets.co.uk www.flyyourbody.com
  6. Many thanks for putting these guides out there! Ross www.gathhelmets.co.uk www.flyyourbody.com
  7. Wicked! I definately live in the wrong country....lol. www.gathhelmets.co.uk www.flyyourbody.com
  8. On the basis that you're most likely to be influenced by what you see around you, what you can learn with or buy secondhand....... I learnt in France where you have: S-Fly Access http://www.flyyourbody.com/fr/boutique/wingsuits/s-fly-access.html I have flown it and taught with it, although only skydiving and not BASE. The wing stops at the elbows leaving the sleeve to ride up over your shoulder as you reach up. S-Fly Indy http://www.flyyourbody.com/fr/boutique/wingsuits/s-fly-indy.html I have not flown it but have taught with it, again only skydiving. The sleeve/cuff is quite wide allowing you to reach out and upwards, past the simple elestaic hand loop. There is a large chunky/robust zip to undo the wings. You don't have to do anything with leg wings on the Access, Indy or Prodigy for landing. With ANY wingsuit lifting up your leg, whilst hanging in the harness should give you a bit of extra reach, in my opinion, but I wouldn't rely on this on its own. The PF Prodigy 2 is a well made suit with strong metal quick release buckles that connect the arm wings to the hips. The reach is very good from what I have heard. I have not flown it myself by have taught with it in terms of skydiving. The only thing to watch with the Prodigy and the Access/Indy might be not having your legs too far apart (as not held together by the longer leg wing or booties) causing the wing to flatten. However, this comes down to the detail of your initial briefing and feedback on your body position, including arching and arm position, as with ANY suit or instructor/coach. A wingsuit First Flight Course could be in another suit all together. I have seen the Tony Suits Intro in the air, which I'm guessing was a model before the iBird, but don't know much more. Longest leg wing of the begineer suits, I think, so potential for a lot of forward speed. However, you need to unzip these leg wings before landing, I believe, but happy to be corrected. 9. That's got to be the NEXT suit up from the Elite but in an "integrated version", which I know is Zun's priority at the moment. Just standing on the ground it a skydiving version it felt a lot bigger than a Stealth 2 or Venom, which I have jumped. www.gathhelmets.co.uk www.flyyourbody.com
  10. Nice! Which centre? www.gathhelmets.co.uk www.flyyourbody.com
  11. You do that anyway! However, that's the time to be a wanna-be movie star glory hound (if you're flying BASE above at break-off). No idea what speed or glide ratio I fly BASE at but I'll let Jarno and Butters comment, from last FnD. Being solid and even paced has seemed to be important. 12. You'll find a photo of it in action on the Soul Flyers facebook page. http://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=248063821903758&set=a.159011740808967.32741.116804331696375&type=1&theater Work is ongoing! www.gathhelmets.co.uk www.flyyourbody.com
  13. James, +1 on everying DSE has said. I have sent you a PM. If I can be of any help flying in the UK just shout. Regards, Ross www.gathhelmets.co.uk www.flyyourbody.com
  14. Fair point well made, Mr J! Thanks, Ross www.gathhelmets.co.uk www.flyyourbody.com
  15. Cheers, Yeyo. And to answer the other question: Yes, it was Black Knights in the UK with the tower of Blackpool pleasure beach to the south and Heysham 1 & 2 Nuclear Power Stations in the north - . My camera set-up is a bit better now and fly a Verso inseatd of an Expert so hope to get some closer footage next time. www.gathhelmets.co.uk www.flyyourbody.com
  16. Very nice! Is it wrong to dream about docking on an aeroplane?!! My attempt from earlier in the season... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hiBv7EpgAzU www.gathhelmets.co.uk www.flyyourbody.com
  17. In that case nope! At least my diving heading first without looking at the ground is improving. www.gathhelmets.co.uk www.flyyourbody.com
  18. P.S. As Jarno said, your welcome to PM me as I'm a BPA WS Coach if you don't know one already?! Ross www.gathhelmets.co.uk www.flyyourbody.com
  19. Hi Skylark, The answer to "how many" depends on you're own level of ability and comfort, the way in which you learn/progess let alone what the CCI is happy with and, maybe, your local WS Coach (or experienced wingsuiter). Where are you jumping? Do you have any evidence of your previous flights, such as a signed logbook briefing and flight de-brief? If so, speak to that person. Ross www.gathhelmets.co.uk www.flyyourbody.com
  20. Looks brilliant! Congrats to everyone. www.gathhelmets.co.uk www.flyyourbody.com
  21. Hi Steve, As Pat said! I have about 300 jumps on a 2009 Expert (with just the slit material behind the mesh) and never needed to modify the inlet. To get more drive forward, say, think about a line up through your spine and out of the top of your head being pulled tight. You then end up tensioning the suit more from the toes to shoulders and upper arms (keeping a good position) but flattening out the suit. You can then play with pushing up with your chest or rolling your shoulders forward a bit, to change the whole profile of your body (the wing), to further change your glide angle. Legs always remain straight - toes pointed, knees locked and also pushing out sideways with your calves. An example being trying to fly "back up" to a formation having gone low on exit etc. From my very limited experience suits like the PhoeniX Fly Shadow and Tony Suits T-Bird have better inflation, which I think helps with responsiveness of the suits, but you can fly your body (and use anticipation/instinctiveness) to compensate. Anticipation being that you're flying closer in formation so you can see what's happing, knowing what's coming next in the dive and getting to a stage where you don't have to "see, process, do" but just "see and do" saving time. I have found a point where I cannot float (i.e. slow vertical & slow forward) with the some of the other intermediate suits in my Expert; I need a bit more forward speed. I just tell myself to improve my skills and get them to go quicker forward next time...lol. All that said, newer models of the Expert and Verso do have small cups on the leg wing inlets to catch more air! I'm sure Jarno has mentioned to me in the past about knowing someone who has done this modification, so he might chip in. Regards, Ross Edited for typos. www.gathhelmets.co.uk www.flyyourbody.com
  22. The answer is "Oh YES!" Shiny snickers to match wingsuit plus model being called "Sky Speed 2" New container (for me) yet to be jumped to match wingsuit Starting to a bit more consistent in wearing my brand T-Shirt or one to match the wingsuit colors And hoping Santa will get me a suitably colored canopy let alone dreaming about a new WS model possibly on the horizon in Electric Blue & White!! 23. Sky-Pimp, Found this for you.... http://www.fly4fun.com.ar/archivos/Birdman.pdf Cheers, Ross www.gathhelmets.co.uk www.flyyourbody.com
  24. Sky-Pimp, See below, Lou Diamond maybe able to help http://www.dropzone.com/cgi-bin/forum/gforum.cgi?post=3784317&mh=25&t=search_engine www.gathhelmets.co.uk www.flyyourbody.com
  25. Macca, The issue is how the cutaway handles are stowed on the suit. The handle has a stiffened tuck tab and slot/pocket on the suit body and it was MY query about tucking the tab in from the top or the bottom. Hence, my suggestion to Sky-Pimp to see if there was a manual out there somewhere. When tucked in from the top, you then need to do an upward movement to free the handle before pulling down to cut-a-way the wings. When tucked in from the bottom, the handle was already starting to slip out whilst moving around on the ground and the cables starting to also slip down. Ross www.gathhelmets.co.uk www.flyyourbody.com
