  1. USPA membership is quite inexpensive compared to BPA. In the US, it will be either $65/yr or $20 for a 3mo temporary. Regarding travel, unless you live in either New York or Chicago, life is very difficult without a car. On one hand, you'll fill out a roughly 12-page legal waiver at most dropzones, but then they don't do flightline checks as you are probably used to. 2. New York - London flight "Pain is the best instructor, but no one wants to attend his classes"
  3. It can occasionally work. I was a passenger and met my wife on the plane – been married 17 years now with two children. In the conversation: me: “I’d guess you flight attendants get asked out all the time” hostie: “No, not really” me: “so if we go out to dinner, it will be the first time?” hostie: blushes me: “I’m serious, we should go out to dinner” "Pain is the best instructor, but no one wants to attend his classes"
  4. Closest to the coast would be Washington, NC. Small Cessna dropzone with air conditioned packing room. "Pain is the best instructor, but no one wants to attend his classes"
  5. A general note on news sources to those not living in the UK: The Daily Mail is to Britain what the National Enquirer is to the US. "Pain is the best instructor, but no one wants to attend his classes"
  6. Yes, that is what I meant. Sorry, I was trying to keep to a low number of iterations. "Pain is the best instructor, but no one wants to attend his classes"
  7. Place your bets. ...I say 2 years 9 months. "Pain is the best instructor, but no one wants to attend his classes"
  8. From my childhood in the US - buttermilk biscuits When I'm visiting the US, I always have to stop for a Bojangles, KFC or Popeyes. "Pain is the best instructor, but no one wants to attend his classes"
  9. Coincidentally I’ve met and spoken with George Soros before; I also have two friends who worked for him directly for several years. Maybe my “Satanic Radar” is not well tuned, but what I experienced first-person was a very intelligent and articulate man. "Pain is the best instructor, but no one wants to attend his classes"
  10. I missed this one in Vacation Bible School as a child. So we’ve got the most powerful force in the universe (created it in seven days as you posit) and the manifestation is a talking donkey? "Pain is the best instructor, but no one wants to attend his classes"

This may have been on here before, but you have to smile while watching. Love the pilots surprised expression. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J_8mdH20qTQ "Pain is the best instructor, but no one wants to attend his classes"
  12. Only a "Trump-like" level of perception and intellect could see more on the Trump day photo. "Pain is the best instructor, but no one wants to attend his classes"
  13. How are you going to explain to small children that Trump got rid of Elmo and Cookie Monster? 14. I expected when the Antichrist came that he would have a better haircut. Don't recall anything in the book of Revelations about orange faces or bad comb overs. Where's Ron with the Bible knowledge? "Pain is the best instructor, but no one wants to attend his classes"
  15. … to get grabbed by the pussy. The dark day is upon you. (crude statement, but using your new president’s vernacular). "Pain is the best instructor, but no one wants to attend his classes"
  16. Music at the inauguration seems to be a problem. No "real" or noteworthy musicians have accepted invitations to play. Just some game show participants and a few country crooners. Even DJs have declined. He's mates with the NJ Governor, possibly Chris Chirstie can get Pauly D to back his car onto the capital lawn and blast some tunes on his stereo. 17. I watched it also. What an absolute "shit show". The rest of the world has already lost respect for the US Presidency thanks to Trump. "Pain is the best instructor, but no one wants to attend his classes"
  18. I'd also add a Pitts Biplane jump to your list (see below): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tnVmFXNFkRk There is usually one around FLA this time of year; it's been at ZHills prior. It was around $80 if I remember correctly. "Pain is the best instructor, but no one wants to attend his classes"
  19. White Ford Transit Vans. The UK collectively refers to them as "white van men" "Pain is the best instructor, but no one wants to attend his classes"
  20. Just once …on my first wingsuit jump from 30K. After landing and laying my rig/suit out on the floor, I noticed I never turned the ADD on. It gave me a sinking feeling; damn disappointed in myself. Story: Driving from my hotel to the DZ that morning at crazy o’clock (something like 5am), the off-ramp I needed to get there had an overnight road crew still working and was closed. In the end, after rerouting without a map or knowledge of the local area, I arrived to the DZ late and stressed to get ready in time. Fearing I’d miss the jump, I even tried bribing the road crew $100/$200 to just let me drive through, but no joy. "Pain is the best instructor, but no one wants to attend his classes"
  21. On a side note, I've always been bemused my North Carolina's claim/pride in the first flight (such as their "First in Flight" license plates). The Wright brothers were from Ohio. "Pain is the best instructor, but no one wants to attend his classes"
  22. That's pretty cool. "Pain is the best instructor, but no one wants to attend his classes"
  23. After a group wingsuit jump, you see a twenty-something arch back both legs (and with both hands) unzip both sides of his leg wing at the same time (in 2 seconds). You look on and think “that’s not happening” before you spend more like 60 seconds grunting/wheezing while sorting out your own leg zips one at a time. "Pain is the best instructor, but no one wants to attend his classes"
  24. Good move on not using any big words in your post. As this was directed at Trump voters, it would have just confused them. "Pain is the best instructor, but no one wants to attend his classes"
  25. I lived in Chicago for 5 years out of university; lots of Cubs game memories. One afternoon I was in the “bleachers” in the outfield when a home run hit came my way. I was drinking a beer and turned backwards so didn’t see it coming, but my friend did who fumbled it but missed (spilling my beer) then went down to scramble for it. He popped up victorious holding the ball and with both hands in the air. I then notice that his competition, for the ball, was two young 16yr old girls. I joking say “good job, you beat two small girls”. As none of us were paying much attention to the game (Cubs games are fun even if you don’t watch baseball), he had caught a home run fly ball hit by the opposing team. It is Wrigley tradition the throw opponent’s home run balls back and the whole ballpark (30 – 40,000 in the stands) start chanting “THROW IT BACK, THROW IT BACK”. My friend said “fuck that, I’m keeping it” after which the chants only got louder. I said to him “Dude, I think you better throw it back” – to which he reluctantly threw it back on the field.
