  1. http://nicedeb.wordpress.com/2009/10/06/confirmed-white-house-passed-out-white-coats-to-docs/ The government is obviously so trustworthy and honest as also demonstrated by the story of Otto Raddatz so caringly told by obama. I think its obvious we can trust the government to run healthcare. Obviously, the government officials put on the panels to determine care will obviously be concerned about what is best. Take Ezekiel Emanuel views: Or David Blumental: Thats right.....we need social justice and the more worthy need healthcare first! This is whats best! More for Emanuel: How about our Sceince Czar John Holdren: Sounds great doesn't it! Or how about the founder of planned parenthood: Ever hear of the great idea called Eugenics and how it started here in america? If not you are missing a lot! WIKI What else does Holdren want outside of healthcare? Well, he has some more great ideas! But this could never happen here (even though it has)......its the united states......
  2. But I thought glenn beck was a conspiracy theorist?
  3. Yea! If the cops are trained properly they can take you out with one shot so you feel no pain. With this new devise they inflict great pain. How do you not get that?
  4. Oh.....and don't forget to not actually read the articles or look at the facts......just incase you forgot.
  5. Anecdotal Average overall is 5 months. How long is the waiting time for children who don't have insurance in the US? That's a great idea. Antibiotics don't do anything for colds, and most coughs. Prescribing them is a waste of money. That's the argument that really made me reply. It has "I come from a stupid and shortsighted source" written all over it. Wendy P. First, none of these are a problem here. Second colds and coughs are caused by infections which antibiotics are used to fight!! Anecdotal? They cancelled her operation cause they didn't have a place to let her lay down! Where has that ever happened here? And about waiting on wheelchairs: The point is that if you work hard to make a good living and provide for your children you still have to wait 5 months for a wheel chair no matter what under the government where as here the is no waiting! If you don't have insurance there is still no waiting cause you can pay cash or get a loan for one if needed. Over there you have NO CHOICE but to wait.
  6. Lucky- What are you doing skydiving? You spend all this money just to go jump out of a plane and to add carbon to the atmosphere and destroy the planet when that money could be used for so many poor people! There are children that starve to death and families that could use that money to eat and yet you waiste it on a carbon dumping plane ride so you can get an adrenaline rush by foiling your own attempt at suicide! Where is the social justice?!?!
  7. How can you continue to make such obviously false statements? Compare the care in the US to countries like the UK! "Great Britain's National Health Service (NHS) was created on July 5, 1948. As with all government programs, bureaucrats underestimated initial cost projections. First-year operating costs of NHS were 52 million pounds higher than original estimates1 as Britons saturated the so-called free system. Many decades of shortages, misery and suffering followed until 1989, when some market-based health care competition was reintroduced to the British citizens2. Unfortunately for those requiring care, a mostly socialist health care system has problems. The articles and commentaries in this section identify some disasters caused by government intervention in the British health care system. " http://www.angelfire.com/pa/sergeman/issues/healthcare/socialized.html Read and educate yourself with the facts. Here is one such article listed in the link. It is an example of why less is spent: Kidney cancer patients denied life-saving drugs by NHS rationing body NICE http://www.liberty-page.com/issues/healthcare/ukkidney.html Girl, 3, has heart operation cancelled three times because of bed shortage http://www.liberty-page.com/issues/healthcare/ukheartop.html Disabled children wait up to two years for wheelchairs http://www.liberty-page.com/issues/healthcare/ukwheelchair.html Stop asking for antibiotics to cure coughs and colds, Government tells patients http://www.liberty-page.com/issues/healthcare/ukantibiotic.html
  8. And if you would have actually read the article about the drop in the 1920's you would see that you are completely wrong. Here are some more facts: Yet most economists seem to agree that tax cuts really do provide a stimulus. The real reason may be that they provide flexibility: people who want to consume more can use their tax cut for that purpose; people who want to save more can use theirs to buy up the new government bonds. This is the perfect scenario during a recession, when prior over-investment has resulted in bloated inventory levels and poor private investment opportunities. http://www.moneychimp.com/articles/econ/tax_cuts.htm More: But, some will ask, what about the deficit? This is a legitimate concern, but pro-growth tax cuts never reduce tax revenues nearly as much as the critics predict they will. That's because lower tax rates encourage taxpayers to work more, save more and invest more. As a result, national income increases and the tax base grows larger. One example: Tax revenues doubled during the 1980s because Ronald Reagan's tax cuts triggered an economic boom. http://www.heritage.org/Press/Commentary/ed042403a.cfm More about Reagan: Total federal revenues doubled from just over $517 billion in 1980 to more than $1 trillion in 1990. In constant inflation-adjusted dollars, this was a 28 percent increase in revenue.3 As a percentage of the gross domestic product (GDP), federal revenues declined only slightly from 18.9 percent in 1980 to 18 percent in 1990.4 Revenues from individual income taxes climbed from just over $244 billion in 1980 to nearly $467 billion in 1990.5 In inflation-adjusted dollars, this amounts to a 25 percent increase. http://www.heritage.org/research/taxes/bg1414.cfm The point is your statement is completely false and once again if you had actually read one of the earlier references you would see that such things as increasing taxes made the depression into a great one and extended it for years. Lets look at your country: The government of Zimbabwe faces a wide variety of difficult economic problems as it struggles with an unsustainable fiscal deficit, an overvalued official exchange rate, hyperinflation, and bare store shelves. Its 1998-2002 involvement in the war in the Democratic Republic of the Congo drained hundreds of millions of dollars from the economy. The government's land reform program, characterized by chaos and violence, has badly damaged the commercial farming sector, the traditional source of exports and foreign exchange and the provider of 400,000 jobs, turning Zimbabwe into a net importer of food products. The EU and the US provide food aid on humanitarian grounds. Badly needed support from the IMF has been suspended because of the government's arrears on past loans and the government's unwillingness to enact reforms that would stabilize the economy. The Reserve Bank of Zimbabwe routinely prints money to fund the budget deficit, causing the official annual inflation rate to rise from 32% in 1998, to 133% in 2004, 585% in 2005, passed 1000% in 2006, and 26000% in November 2007, and to 11.2 million percent in 2008. Meanwhile, the official exchange rate fell from approximately 1 (revalued) Zimbabwean dollar per US dollar in 2003 to 30,000 per US dollar in September 2007. http://www.theodora.com/wfbcurrent/zimbabwe/zimbabwe_economy.html This fact is particularly interesting: Unemployement: 80% (2005 est.) We are worried about a 10% unemployment rate. Here and once again the poor here still have cars. homes, TV's, dishwashers, microwaves, etc..... So how are all your ideas working for your country? Well, they are destroying it where as freedom and capitalism has made our country strong and have given the poor here more than the average and even "rich" in many countries! These are the facts....you can theories all you want but this is how things work and this is what works. There's no way around it.
  9. Given how many of us in the past few decades grew up as latchkey kids, it's clear that it takes more than Doom and parental neglect to turn out a violent person. I agree completely! Following this same train of thought you have to consider how many kids play violent video games and didn't become violent as well.
  10. Also, in the spirit of celebrating our diversity as americans and people:http://video.google.com/videosearch?q=russell+peters&hl=en&emb=0&aq=0&oq=russel# My favorite is the part about beating your kids!
  11. Thanks but I'm not going to test the waters on this issue. Yes I'm a naturalized citizen, I've lived here for well over 24 years of my 32 years of life, I have clearance levels and a few interesting ID cards. But all that aside, once I'm in the hands of customs none of that means a pile of beans. I know I've been there. Spent 4 hours being questioned by some Joe who thought that he "had one". As for the being American comment, look unless you have had the privilege of being the only foreign kid in an all Wonder Bread community you just won't get it. You are a walking target for all the ills of the world. And thus growing up I had to live an exemplary life. Stuff your average American got away with.....I wouldn't have even tried. As for how customs treated you there is no excuse to not respect and uphold the rights of citizens! As for the rest you talk as if only people who aren't white experience pregidous. I have and continue to be a "victim" of pregidous. Currently, it may be my age, what I wear, even my skin color (just as you have grouped all "white" people together with your wonderbread community and assuming that whites haven't experience pregidous like you), my job, my job title, the things I own, my hobbies,......serious, like ever kid wasn't made fun of and picked on for what he wore to school or something. You don't think that those who were classified as "nerd" and were beat up regularly at school can understand because they were white and not persian like you? Or what about the white kid who is outcast because he is the only white kid in a neighbor hood of blacks or hispanics? Oh.....wait....pregidous can only go one direction right? Seriously, you don't think the nerdy white kids weren't "a target for all the ills of the world?" Besides, how do you know that there is "stuff the average american got away with" that you couldn't? That is an assumption and nothing more which, once again, is pregidous on your part. Its no different that to say I don't like obama cause he's black and you know because if he was white I wouldn't be against his policies. How can you know that? The fact is you can't know that. Its impossible. If you could know that you could know the next winning lottery number and the reality is that such a statement is pregidous and racist against white people. And lets think about this, I have enough indian blood to be a register indian in oklahoma but I am not register so that suddenly groups me as a white person?.......because I didn't register as an american indian?.....so now my taxes goes to indians because I am the horrible white person that took thier land?.....even though I have a direct relative who was an indian who's stuff is in a museum cause they were famous?...... and my taxes must pay for blacks to go to college because I am white and I must have had a slave at some point.....even though I can prove no one anywhere in my heritage ever had a slave?.......In fact, I could use these things to be pregidous towards indians and black people, but I don't!! Because indians are not indians they are americans, and black people are not african they are americans and they are all people.....just people. I mean even blondes are treated differently and people have pregidous against them cause they think thier stupid......and beautiful blondes must be sluts too..... Pregidous is a part of life....and lets face it: freedom means we are free to be pregidous. It also means we are freed to educate ourselves and others to not be as well.
  12. Easy....if you resist then you just broke the law by resisting which basically makes the arrest lawful. If it is unlawful then you use the law which is to sue.
  13. Yes, it's quite clear that there is absolutely no link at all between TV/computer violence and violence in the real world. Sorry, Steve, your vision is false. The majority of violence continues to be felons killing felons. I need to see stronger evidence that this to convince me otherwise. The problem is it is hard to do exact research on this sort of thing. What did it take thirty years before we had conclusive evidence that smoking causes cancer and other problems. I think anyone who has any common sense can put two and two together and figure out if a kid watches little else but violence it is going to have an impact on his behavior. Anyone can put two and two together and realize that if a kid has uninvolved parents and they only get attention when they do violent things, such and beat up kids at school, and even then the parents will defend their kid, you have a violent kid! The reality is even if video games make kids violent its not the video games fault but the parent for buying it or not making sure the kid understands the difference between it and real life or just being a bad parent. That is the root at which it begins. Otherwise there would be not violent people until video games came along.....which obviously isn't true.
  14. "This is what the Republicans want you to do. If you get sick America, the republican health care plan is this: Die quickly!" -Alan Grayson So, they can call us racists, lie, compare us to Nazis, etc, but if we dare point out the fact they accuse us of lying, if we call one of them a communist (when he is and calls himself that) they go crazy and say we can't call name like that......if we use a term like "death panels" to describe something in the healthcare bill (something thats actually there, you can read it for yourself) say its a lie and how dare we say such a thing, but they can lie and say the above? They can have abortions and end of life counciling, some even advocate that you can kill children up to the age of two, they can offer to pay for assisted suicide with tax money instead of treatment, they can advocate for making people sterile without them knowing, and they want to destroy the best healthcare system in the world........... and it is the republicans who want people to die? I am not a republican but get real!
  15. Apsolutely not. The government has no right to make any such mandate and I don't trust the government to let them inject me with some untested product. Not to mention the admitted ineffectiveness of flu vaccines as, unlike small pox, the virus changes from person to person so by the time you get H1N1 it may be different than what you were given a vaccine for. In addition, the original vaccine required 3 treatments and now they claim, with no real proof, that one will work. Besides the vaccine can make you sick....a vaccine is litterly giving you the virus....if it doesn't make you sick your immune system is weakened so if you encounter the virus during that time you are extra susceptable to it. In addition, the regular flu is still worse by all measures than H1N1 so why are we so focused on H1N1....or should I say why is the government so focused on it?
  16. Shah269 It is not american to refuse to cooperate. or denying help. I to would "be civil" and help as best I could. I see this a being american. If they go outside the law and violate my rights then I will defend my rights but I will not stop being civil even when definding my rights. That is american! Also, I think you should decide if you want to be an american or a persian. If you want to be persian then go there (I am not just saying this to be a jerk so here me out)....otherwise why are you here? Why come here and be a citizen? Is that because you don't like the US? Is being persian so much better than being an american? If so, once again, why are you here? I could call myself several things - Indian (american indian), scottish, or a couple other things.....but I am a citizen of the United States of America so I am an american, not american indian, not scottish american, or anything else. The reality is these distictions actually feed predgidous. For example, people want to be seen as equals and a part of this country but you can't call them american or they become offended and must be called american indians! Why the distiction? Why can't we both just be americans together.... why must the indian seperate himself from me which infact he is the one being pregidous. All americans have the same rights and freedoms and we should all stand together to protect our rights and freedoms as we are all americans....not american indians, or scottish americans, or anything else.....we are all americans!
  17. Well, the first flaw is here: "In this climate, it is vital that members of our communities inform themselves about our rights as Americans." The video starts out asking how would you feel if you or your loved one who is innocent is interigated or deported as a result of these new tactics.......well if you are an american you can't be deported. People don't seem to understand that if you are not an american citizen you don't get the rights of a citizen. If they did then they could vote and everything else to....which they can't....and you couldn't be deported either. Also, what would be the point of becoming a citizen if you had all the rights of one anyways? Of course, if you are a citizen then the rights garanteed under the constitution should be protected no matter what!! That even include protecting them against the people in office who have and continue to ignore and destroy our rights and the rights of every american.
  18. Great exercise! I've got one as well. If the "wealth" is redistributed so everyone has 100,000 dollars how much is it worth? Let me help you out a little bit. What determines value? The answer is supply vs. demand. If there is an abondance of something like copper, even though there is actually a higher demand for copper than gold (its used in any electronic equipment, the supply is extremely high so its cheap compared to gold which the supply is very low and can't meet demand (gold actually makes a better conductor so if the supply was as high as copper it would be used instead of copper and would cost the same as copper does now). So what can we learn from this. If everyone has the same thing its not worth anything, basically the supply is higher than the demand for it. Because some people have a bunch of it and some don't have a lot that means the desire for the money increases even though the supply may be the same. Its gets harder to get (supply is low) because some people store it up or invest it so its not accessable to everyone making it more valueble! This is why raising the minimum wage causes inflation (devalues the money) which ultimately negates the effort to provide the poor with more. (example: if minimum wage is raised from 4 to 5 dollars 5 dollars is now only worth 4. This is seen through the raising of prices in groceries and particularly gold!) This is why some countries are refusing to accept the US dollar because its not worth near what it used to be thanks to the stimulus packages and such. Its not complicated!
  19. http://www.lewrockwell.com/orig7/lemieux1.html Statistics indicate gun control increases crime.
  20. Here is the long and short of it. It is simply unsustainable to tax the rich and give it to the poor. If you tax the rich to provide for the poor there is no reason for people to not be "poor" and have everything provided for them. Therefore, eventually there will be no rich to tax. Why should people work and educate themselves in order to become rich only to have the same standard of living as everyone else who doesn't work? There is no reason. This is why the soviet union didn't work. Its called communism. Pay everyone the same so everyone has the same standard of living. Take from the rich and give to the poor. Guess what, everyone basically stopped working because they got the same thing either way. Even in your own twisted views that the rich only get rich by inheriting it and such well.....If you tax the rich to provide so much to the poor they will have nothing for thier children to inherit....no more rich! It can't last.....its not possible! Desides, in what other country in the world do the "poor" have all this? Forty-six percent of all poor households actually own their own homes. The average home owned by persons classified as poor by the Census Bureau is a three-bedroom house with one-and-a-half baths, a garage, and a porch or patio. Seventy-six percent of poor households have air conditioning. By contrast, 30 years ago, only 36 percent of the entire U.S. population enjoyed air conditioning. Only 6 percent of poor households are overcrowded. More than two-thirds have more than two rooms per person. The average poor American has more living space than the average individual living in Paris, London, Vienna, Athens, and other cities throughout Europe. (These comparisons are to the average citizens in foreign countries, not to those classified as poor.) Nearly three-quarters of poor households own a car; 30 percent own two or more cars. Ninety-seven percent of poor households have a color television; over half own two or more color televisions. Seventy-eight percent have a VCR or DVD player; 62 percent have cable or satellite TV reception. Seventy-three percent own microwave ovens, more than half have a stereo, and a third have an automatic dishwasher. Nationwide, some 22,000 "poor" households have heated swimming pools or Jacuzzis. ......oh wait....i'm sorry I used facts again.....and I am going to do something even crazier! Cite information and actually assume that you will read it! I must be going insane! http://www.heritage.org/research/welfare/bg1713.cfm http://www.heritage.org/research/politicalphilosophy/bg791.cfm Obviously, our horrible capitalist system has provided so much for the "poor" that they have homes, cars, microwaves, TV's....even pools! How can we continue to let them live in such horrible condition!
  21. Which actions; be specific. More ambiguity? Are you affraid to specify which things I say, which countries, how they failed, etc? Come on, cite my ideas, specific countries that tried it when and the outcome. As for the baseline, you set that and demand gov spending if nec meets that, you're working this backwards saying the cuts, etc won't meet the baseline; diff deal. Wow! You didn't read the article at all did you? Just ignore the facts......
  22. Ever heard of the depression of 1920? Probably not..... did you know the crash then was worse than the one that resulted in the "great depression". http://www.meltingpotproject.com/mpp/2009/02/the-great-depression-of-1920.html Also, the reality is that such actions as you are advocating don't raise the "baseline" they bring everything down to a lower level. Look at the countries that do what you advocate or have in the past. They are failures! These are not new ideas! They have been tried before and they fail!
  23. But you can keep everyone uneducated so that everyone is equal........
  24. In order to gain more support I wanted to relay a sad story of how the current system is flawed. There was a man named Otto Raddatz who had sent in his AAD for it 8 year check. He was denied the check because he had not listed that the battery needed to be updated to, which he was unaware of. As a result he died!
  25. Okay! Everyone together now..... Get geared up! Jump out of a plane! Get geared up! Jump out of a plane! GET GEARED UP! JUMP OUT OF A PLANE! GET GEARED UP! JUMP OUT OF A PLANE!
