If you prove that you are professional and are competent in what youre doing (safety checks. walk them thru them, Explaining things kind of detailed even if they dont know what youre talking about they figger you must know since youre using these foreign words) and also be a bit goofy. Make it fun. I have one instructor that makes me smile all the time. Not like shes funny makes me smile but like "youre smiling or else Im not giving you the go ahead to do your manuvers) and she makes sure she says "SMILE! ENJOY THIS! TAKE CONTROL OF YOUR SKYDIVE!" when dirtdiving the jump. She always is telling me that were going to have a great time. And you know what, it really helps a lot. hope this helps ya. kellly

hey guys.. some bad news moms boyfriend got laid off today so that means less money coming in the house. which means no jumping for a while cause the money is needed elsewhere. But im not upset~at least not yet. because i know that i have priorities and jumping cant take preferance to paying the rent and all.. But ive got it figured out. I pay the bills. i help with them all. when we get okay, when he goes back to work i start keeping my money again. but i dont spend it right away. Im going to wait until i can afford to finish AFF PLUS my A license requirements in a short period of time. Id rather go uncurrent and have money to help w/ the bills then struggle to pay the bills and make one jump a month to stay current. No worries. So i go uncurrent and i make it up. NO big deal. I can live with that. THen when its time, i finish the student program and get my A. its just that simple. It'll be okay. kel

hey guys. just got home from the dz. did my level 5 jump. and i will be doing my level 5 jump again. Body position was bad. arms were to far out in front of me. couldnt get stable. didnt do any manuvers. So i just sort of flopped around for the entire skydive. Canopy ride was my best one yet though. Lots of people complemented me on the fine job that i did :) hehe. Winds 13mph out of the west. started coming out of the south west while i was under canopy. Did a left rear riser turn for the feel of it. Started downwind a little early but i compensated on my base leg. This time i made sure to give myself lots of extra area to my right because i was crabbing that way... So i was at a really good spot over the landing area. no worries of being blown over the trees cause I was far enough away. Turned final and low and behold... No "OH SHIT! FLARE!! SHIT FLARE!!" feelings. Flared perfectly. Nice soft landing. STOOD IT UP! whoo hee. i kick ass. lol And a friend of mine videoed the landing so ive got it on tape. All in all, i was worried about the winds before i even geared up. worried about them continuously. that took away from my skydive. Screwed the actual jump up but learned that i can handle the winds. I just got to work them to my advantage. A lesson learned so no money wasted ya know? froggie

kris, sorry to disapoint you but rumor has it that Franki might be getting a paint job. Nothings gaurenteed, in fact, i dont even remember where i heard that from. But if we do paint him then I think we should all roll around in paint and throw ourselves against the sides of Franki. Can you imagine? We could hold eachother upside down and press against him. Dont know why i have this big wish to brand Franki, but if hes going to get painted, it might as well be by his most adoring dropzone. froggie

oh yeah, speedracer, if you need some more detailed directions (landmarks etc etc) just lemme know. Ive been in the area for 20 years now, i know it pretty well.

ow! geeze. thank god nobody was seriously injured. That wouldnt have been good for that dz's publicity, besides being bad for the hurt person. Another lesson in safety and gear checks.

hehe. good try there tiger. but the real answer is: Silent Laugh Cant Breath. its one of those laughs when you hear something so funny all you can do is make that high pitched squel occasionally and the whole breathing thing is hindered. Elisa should come down too, its the same distance to her regular dz. so there was a girl from philly that didnt work out huh? is she a skydiver? okay, when you get there just look for me! have you ever been to Xkeys before? in any case, when you park youre gonna prolly walk around the side and go in thru the hanger.. my office is right across from the window that says "student manifest" My little window looks over the porch :) but im hardley ever in there. You can find me running around, scaring first time tandem students :) lol. And stacy will be working manifest. So make sure you find one of us early! I can just imagine the debriefing Jacko gave ya.. with his accent and all. Hes a riot. But hes kinda mean :) .. always pushes me over when im bent down packing. Did that this past weekend and i hit my head on a weight. Got a lot of pleasure out of giving him that guilt trip :) lol. i love the people at Xkeys. their great. even if they do stick me in the middle of a tandem canopy, roll me end cell to end cell, turn me sideways and roll me down the lines :) That was a moment worthy of some video. wheres the camera flyers when ya need them?
