Well whats the fun in that?
  3. Ain't that a bitch.. Does your NVertigo use a dytter mounting bracket? I believe I've heard of people losing audibles b/c the bracket didn't hold them well enough.. But I haven't used one yet, so I really don't know.

    ...Is it a para-tent?
  5. Where in FL are you looking to move?
  6. Welcome to the darkside Jack... :)
  7. 0:4:2 Got my new Wings on Wednesday, rigger got back into town Friday morning, assembled everything Saturday evening, and I jumped Sunday.. would have jumped more, but was having packing issues early in the day. 2nd beer owed is for my first successful sustained and stable sit-fly. Not sure if I was back/forward tracking, I was solo and haven't had any instruction on it, but it felt awesome. Overall, a satisfying weekend :)
  8. AFF would probably be fun to have to go through again... do all the PPCT's and maneuvers and still have plenty of time left to work on your headdown.
  9. No kidding, I never even thought of the possibilty of that happening.
  10. Wierd, had the same thing happen to me today, opened canopy, and noticed that it wanted to turn, headed for the DZ using rear risers and then went into troubleshoot mode.. ok, both toggles still stowed, what else could be wrong, so I looked at my leg straps and noticed one was about two inches looser. I think it happened because I was rushing to make a load, so I just pulled the loose strap tight, and all was well. But I was under new gear so I pulled at 5 and had ample time to figure out what was wrong.
  11. "art" Obviously you haven't seen my packings. I've been trying to learn to pack off and on, usually on borrowed (different) gear, finally got to try on my own rig today and was about to give up and go home, then I started talking to the packer who has been packing for me previous weekends. She took the time to do a slow pack and explain a bunch of tricks to me, and now I can do it, and the thing even opens
  12. I did, uhm, kindof.. I didn't know anybody at the DZ when I got there (except the jump pilot), but they all quickly became friends, so I guess I started out alone, but that didn't last long. Met some awesome people, I did. Now a bunch of us take one skip day per month during the work week to go visit different DZ's around the state.
  13. = "Hey y'all, watch this..." Also make sure you consider the presentation of this example to students so you don't scare them away.
  14. That sounds good, I was wondering if I had been tipping appropriately. I have been averaging 4-5 jumps per day (yeah, pathetic I know) and usually tip minimum $5 per day, depending on how happy I am with the packer. Finally got my *own* rig assembled/packed tonight and tipped my rigger dinner/drinks for his family and kids for letting me sit there and watch/help/askabunchofmoronicquestions for a few hours. I feel that it was money well spent. Hopefully I won't have to tip with a bottle tomorrow for the reserve working.
  15. Congrats on your first AFF! BTW, when you say you did your 'first' whatever in skydiving, you owe beer.
  16. Did you hear the one about the 4-way RW team that had 5 cutaways on one jump yet? It's posted somewhere around here..
  17. Can't get that link to work, is headdown.net down?
