  1. Well...yeah of course. It was like that happened...then this happened...and 3 guys walked into a bar...yadda yadda
  2. Please do not EVER get advice from secound example.......He is ignorant at best! Having a good arch will in no way harm your FFlying! You still have to pull every jump.....there is only one good position i can think of to do that in, belly! I know what most will say....you can do that good enought after AFF or after your A lic...... But you should have a more stable belly position before you move on... You might want to stick with getting advise from first example! I took the 2nd guys advice because he is the DZO and has a D license. The first guy was just a 100 jump wonder. They need to do away with the coaches rating, go to another dropzone and people will jump with you. If i was you i would find a new DZ to jump at if that is the type of "ADVISE" that your DZO gives out to new comers Funny story....I eventually did stop jumping there.

  4. I've heard two answers to the same question. Both came from experienced jumpers. The first guy said to wait until you have 200 or 300 jumps before you freefly. The second guy said its better to start earlier than that because you don't quite have the habit to arch yet, so in turn you won't have to break that habit. But whatever, they aren't my words. I started attempting to sitfly at about jump 50. I wouldn't think of doing it with 12 jumps, just plain belly freefalling is still fun at 12 jumps.
  5. TV commercial for Motorstorm 2:Pacific Rift http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gCY8lo6D-8k
  6. Learned to pack for myself when I got off the static line....about jump 5 or so. Packed for myself every jump since then.
  7. My experiences with Honda's has been great, I restored a 1990 Honda Civic hatchback that had been wrecked and was just left sitting in a field for years and years. Has about 200,000 miles on it and runs great, doesn't tick or burn a drop of oil. Currently building a 220hp B16 for it, which will bring it into the low 13's on the drag strip. Faster than a brand new SRT8 Charger, with better fuel economy and lower insurance rates! The Weight/Horsepower ratio will be around the same of a late 90's Corvette. Now my first car was a 1974 Plymouth Valiant with the famous 225 slant six. The slant six is famous for being practically indestructible, and it definitely held its title for me. Not a very peppy car, but no matter what that slant six would not break. It currently has 160,000 miles and still runs strong.
  8. I think I can kindof relate to this. When I first started jumping (not very long ago) I remember the ride to altitude being much "faster" than it is now. Thinking to myself I hope clouds come in so I won't have to jump....oh no we're at 8,000 feet we're almost there, what the heck am I doing?? Now the ride to altitude feels way slower and I'm thinking are we there yet? are we there yet? Come on this thing can climb faster than this!! But I still get butterflies when I'm putting my goggles and helmet on, checking handles, etc...Knowing that I'm only a couple minutes away from jumping.
  9. I've had a ton of skydiving dreams, all of them involve some kind of malfunction, but I always get a clean reserve out. Just the other night I dreamed that one of my risers broke on opening so the main was streaming above me by one riser. Went for the cutaway handle but it wouldn't budge, kept yanking on it until it finally released and I was instantly under a yellow reserve. Which is also strange because in ALL of my dreams I have a yellow reserve, but in my rig my reserve is white.
  10. I tried a rear riser landing a few weeks ago, I was so focused on flaring at the right time that I didn't notice I was holding the rear risers halfway below the top. So when I went to flare....I only got about half as much flare as I wanted, causing me to have a somewhat hard landing. Luckily my wingloading is only about .75 so my descent rate is already pretty slow, but not slow enough to stand up a landing without flaring.
  11. I was kindof wondering this too, I sweat like a pig when I pack and I always pour sweat on my canopy. I've never really thought much of it.
  12. What operating system are you running? Windows XP only supports a maximum of 3gb of RAM, but Vista supports more. About the CPU, I don't know why its listing it as an AMD Opteron but there may be a jumper on the motherboard that needs to be set. Could be running too hot also.
  13. Does anyone know about this place? Its in Davis, West Virginia, I came across it a little while ago and I'd like to check it out. Is the place even in business or is it long gone? Their website doesn't work, I haven't tried calling yet.
  14. Well I'm not very experienced, but hard openings do happen. If you are consistently getting hard openings, find a new packer or learn to pack your own. I don't like the openings I get with paid packers, which is why I've packed my own since about jump number 9 or 10. Body position could also result in a hard opening.
  15. Well that makes this a win/win situation then! A job you can do in your garage...and save money while your at it. But you need a way to grind off the excess glue....I think theres a dremel attachment that might do the job
  16. Well, i had braces and thats basically just how the orthodontist will remove them. Feels like they're breaking your teeth....so whether you do it...or some orthodontist...I don't think it will make any difference!
  17. Also, overheating can ruin a good thermostat. As far as the fan goes, that will usually only cause overheating if the engine is idling for awhile. If driving at cruising speeds and not working the engine too hard, and the engine still overheats then most likely it is not the fan. Have you changed the radiator cap? When coolant is under pressure the boiling temperature is increased. If the cap is letting pressure out, the boiling temperature will lower. That could potentially cause a boilover.
  18. Just out of curiosity, how many miles is on your expedition? My mother drives a 99 expedition with the triton 5.4 and I've heard quite a few occasions where one of the sparkplugs would blow out of one of the heads. I think her expedition as about 120k miles on it, also has a nice tick when it idles.
  19. I'm 18, I earn minimum wage etc. If you have a job, work 50 - 60 hours a week. If you don't, get one. Also start selling all your junk on ebay, don't eat out anymore. Matter of fact, your diet will become a combination of water and ramen noodles. Don't drive anywhere except work and the dropzone. Save all your pocket change, I paid for my FJC in change I had saved (of course I cashed it for paper money first). Buy used gear, I just bought a 95 dolphin complete with a main, reserve, and a 2 year old Vigil for 2 grand. Was just washed, had a bridle cover installed, and all brand new velcro installed. I don't even have a jumpsuit. Blue jeans + shirt tucked in and belt as tight as it will go works fine.
  20. I had my jetski stored outside over the winter, I stored it with a full tank of gas and when I went to get it running here recently I found out every last drop of fuel was gone. And it has a 13 gallon fuel tank. There was also a lot of fuel siphoned out of my ford f150, the first fuel tank was completely empty and the second was about 3/4 gone. I heard Uhaul and other companies like that are having problems with people stealing the fuel out of their company trucks too.
  21. Lower it, put HUGE chrome rims on it, then sell it on ebay. It will be a top item for some of those buyers.
  22. Give it to me so I can try calling someone while in freefall!
  23. Oh, I thought it took about 1000 feet to reach terminal no matter if you started at 0mph or 80mph.
  24. Why did they want you to have a B license to jump out of a helicopter? Just out of curiosity.
