  1. I'm into horses. Medium rare please
  2. I agree that change should happen to achieve something better and not just to change, but usually change makes everything more interesting (at least to me). The whole thing gets pretty messy here (visually) so I kind of lost the overview, but I'd love to discuss what ever you want in PM's.
  3. You mean next to the whole god thing? Oh dam, nice job Great way to lighten up the thread!!!! Nice job
  4. Hm I suppose that makes it easier if you ever have to cut it away
  5. And I, personally have no problem with your choices or beliefs. Why do you (seem) to have so much of a problem with the US and my beliefs? (If I have misread you I am sorry.) First off I really like the US and I'm glad that I'm given the chance to live over here. I do not have a problem with you chosing to be religious but I still think you are wrong and since this is a discussion I try to show you why I think so.
  6. I have to agree that the sweet fuking jesus might have been miss placed. I am probably different because I'm coming from Switzerland with an atheistic background.
  7. In that respect, I agree with you in part. There are people on both sides of the religion issue that hold similar opinions on the subjects you list, that I will guarantee. With that said - I see the people being "offended by religion" to be much more militant and in-your-face about it than the people supposedly doing the offended. Christians, on the other hand, are much more restrained in the expression of their distaste at having their beliefs vilified. Hm I'm not so sure about me being militant. I agree that I am very direct and that I usually try to win my arguments, but I do not tell Christians that there is no heaven and that they are wasting their time (or at least not in their face on the street), while I was told that people hope that I'll burn in hell for my atheism (the best one was in a Chinese restaurant during dinner and the person was some random guy at the neighbor table). I know that not all Christians are like that and I know that there are militant atheist, but I try not to be.
  8. Yeah that was exactly what I meant!!! Anarchie!!! Seriously: Those are obvious rules to live together and are the same in pretty much every society no matter what religion. I was talking about things like abortion, same sex marriage, and so on which are strongly influenced by religion.
  9. Hehe just a little side note: This thread got hugely off topic
  10. Ooohhhhh, so you are saying lowering (changing) moral standards is good? First lowering is not equivalent to changing. Second, just because it seems to you that they get lowered does not necessarily mean it seems like that to everybody else. Third, most moral standards in effect in the US today are coming from the bible with which I disagree, so yes I think it is good that they change.
  11. Yeah serious. I disagree with all the people who say everything is going downhill. Just look at the progress humanity has made. Just because some people have different morals than you do that doesn't mean the world is going down, but just that it's changing and change is good.
  12. Yeah, 'cos when society was all devout and pious stuff there was no affairs, no spousal abuse, the gutters weren't full of prostitutes and the Pope almost never had illegitimate kids. Ah, yes, and everything is perfect and idyllic today...especially that divorce rate, right? Hardly unsurprising - with the 'me me me generation', they should change the vows to "until the next person comes along" What's wrong with that?
  13. I was just saying that believing in something that contradicts science and believing it is true is wrong. Monogamy doesn't really have anything to do with it.
  14. Wow looks absolutely awesome. Is the main camo too?
  15. I was talking about Christianity and that contradicts science and that makes fundamental Christians wrong. If we get more into spiritualism and I have never really thought about all those aspects so I won't argue around that, but as long as they don't think that carbon dating is wrong I at least say that there is a chance that they are right (altough I doubt it).
  16. Hey yeah i thought it was pretty interesting too when I thought about it. It really explains why people are so desperately clinging to their religion altough it seems pretty obvious that there is no god. No because conversion of matter has logic in it so it was just a theorie. Nothing shaky there. What is FSM? Monogamy has nothing to do with faith but with moral and standards set by society. Everybody can choose to live monogamous or not and it does not contradict any scientific facts so no problem there.
  17. Okey to make that clear: I'm a 20 year old student so I do not have the funds to do any serious experiments, and I would actually use my time in a different way if I had the money. I never said it is true or fact but that is what I believe and all that does not stop me from thinking (in a logic fashion). You still haven't grasped the proving thing. If you can prove that god exists, I'm gonna believe in it. Up to that point you have just a theorie (a pretty shaky one). And it's not my viewpoint, it's a scientific view point.
  18. No experiments, just thinking about why anyone would make up something that satisfies all those needs. It is impossible to prove that god does not exist. I personally like the unicorn comparison: It is impossible to prove that unicorns don't exist (unless you are omnipotent and can see every place on earth at the same time), but nobody actually believes in unicorns. That's also why you have to be proven guilty in court and not have to prove your innocence.

Isn't that what I said (altough I took the difference between the USD and the Euro)? To answer the initial question: The Forex in New York closes at 8 AM Saturday Sydney time, while Sydney starts trading 8 AM Monday so there are 48h where there is no trading so during that period the courses shouldn't change.

What might work: If you can get the money into a trading account, you would be able to use a stop-loss order to trade it. The problem with that would be though that most company's bill you for taking money out off of a trading account that would most probably spoil the advantage.

I have a live ticker of the Dollar but the changes (over a day) are usually not more than 0.5 cents (Dollar/Euro) so it just seems marginal even though I agree that losing 50$ each time sucks. I have the same problem since I have to transfer money regularly from Switzerland to the US, but I'm lucky because at the moment it's by far the preferable way so for me I'm just happy that it's not 2/1 like it used to be but more 1.2/1.
