  1. Sweet sounds good. I think Jessica said something about coming too. Have you seen my message on facebook?
  2. Not very surprisingly I had another 0:0:0 because of a lot of schoolwork and no cash but next weekend will be better The weather'd be better awesome...
  3. That works out because we have far simpler words for the rest of the world. That's exactly the problem. You don't even have any words for "everything that does not belong to the US, a.k.a sucks" because you think you are so superior that that ain't necessary

    Radar Detector

Hey thanks for the tip with the cb. I think I'm gonna try that first since my host family has one I can take for free. Hope it works

    Radar Detector

I can't afford to spend $400 for a laser detector. I was more thinking about something in the $150 range. That's is anything good available for that kind of money? That's actually how I found the Wisthler Pro 78. Has anybody ever used one? It gets pretty good reviews.

    Radar Detector

Okey I'm fairly sure to get one. I just drive too much (more than 14'000 miles this year) and not always in the speed limits to go without one. I have been lucky several times this year... Now the most important question: Which one to get? I would like to invest as little as possible and still get one that detects everything reliably. So I'm looking for the one with the best price value amount.

    Radar Detector

Hm I think I'd rather go with a normal radar detector. That should be good enough for me. So who has one and actually uses it? Would you get another one? If you'd get another one would you go with a more expensive one?

So basically you could legally block X and K? But that ain't really helping. I'm not gonna get a license.

    Radar Detector

Thanks for all the advice. I agree that the Valentines are probably the best but I can't afford that. That's why I was going with the Whistler Pro 78 because it's just $150 and gets pretty good ratings. I don't think I need something very fancy since I never do more than 20 over and that just when there are a bunch of people going that fast. It really is just to make sure that I'm not the unlucky guy of the group who gets pulled over. The reason I think about getting one is just as an insurance. I can't afford paying $300 on a traffic ticket and a higher car insurance. Do you think it's worth buying something in the middle class or would you rather go with nothing at all? Edited to add: Aren't multi band jammers illegal?

    Radar Detector

Hey everybody I was just trying to decide if I should get a radar detector. I checked a few out and I think I would go with a Whistler Pro 78. Is it worth the money? I don't really speed but I drive regularly 15 over with the crowd. Do you think they are worth it? I'm a young driver and if I get a ticket my insurance would skyrocket... So any advice on which to buy and if they are worth it?
  11. My host mum just asked me what GPS she should get for her doughter. I read a bunch of stuff and tested them and ended up telling her to get a Mio C230 for $149. I know that it has certain disadvanteges and a bunch of features are missing. But after talking with her we decided that those fancy features are just not worth paying something like 700$. If I would have bought one I would have gone exactly with this one just because I would need it to navigate and all of them to a similar job there. I agree though that it would be worth spending more money for one with traffic data if you are living in a really crowded are.
  12. The only people the American dream does not work for are lazy asses. So guess to what group those 60% belong
  13. How's about just releasing all people from jail who are in for silly drug crimes like smoking pot? That would most probably safe more money than a big fat tax increase would bring
  14. Okey I doubt that just the managers benefit but let's assume it is like that. If they wouldn't, they would change to a different company where they make more money. And then some other managers would be needed and chances that you get the top managers without paying top wages is slim. So that would just decrease the quality of management and how good that is for the company along with not being able to fire people should be obvious.
  15. Yeah but as soon as Bush will be gone it's gonna go up unless another complete moron becomes president. But I actually think all candidates (even the republicans) are better than Bush. To the thread poster: You are basically complaining that the companys do what's best for them and their shareholders and not for the public. Have you ever thought that what's best for the company is also best for their workers and their community? Do you seriously think that if Hershey wouldn't lay off those workers and just pay them for goodness sake they would stay in business very long? And guess what happens if they go out of business... Right everybody loses their job and you won't have any chocolate anymore. All this complaining about layoffs just makes me think how financially ignorant some people are. Have you ever thought about investing in Hershey and profiting from their good decisions instead of complaining and losing money or possibly your job?
  16. It's not like it would change anything for me...
  17. Last jump was on halloween but Christmas, and with that a lot of jumps, is coming
  18. Yeah I know I also doubt very much that Clinton will make it. But as long as a democrat is elected I'm good with it.
  19. I would say that most illegal immigrants are still hard worker. You don't leave your country, your family and your friends if you don't think it's worth it. I talk out of expirience. And it wouldn't be worth it if you were not working for it.
  20. I would dare say tough that chances that the illegal immigrant are doing a better job and that they value the job are pretty high.
  21. I completely agree that there is still a choice behind it since we don't know everything yet. But it would be a very poor choice to go with the unprovable and very unlikely thing...
  22. I meant it in a sense of accepting other religions even as an atheist. Yeah but I would prefer the billions of the millions if I had to insult anybody
  23. That is why I support Clinton. She is the only one who has an at least kind of acceptable plan about future energy sources and I believe that this is the most important issue next to the US deficit.
  24. Rubbish is rubbish regardless of how many people believe it. Reincarnation IS on the same level as UFOs and ghosts - rubbish. That might be true but that's like comparing Jesus to ghosts. It's true but you are not very open minded if you to do it. And they don't even argue about it they just say it like it was fact. Uh, no, you don't. God didn't create any Bibles; printing presses do that. Nor did God write the Bible; men did that. It has some very archaic and dated stuff in there that's far more applicable as a "this is the history of the Jewish people" than as "you really should kill all gays." So pleas tell my why all those people who just pick the part's they like about the bible still belive in the other parts? You just told me that it is obvious that the bible is a horrible resource and I am still curious why anybody would think anything in there is true if they don't belive everything ist true (I'm good with that. people who do that just choose to ignore science and belive god made the bible. They at least to it all the way). So if you are not beliving that god made or at least inspired it why would you even look at it? Is a photon a particle or a wave? They are both. Nothing grey about that.

    AGGGHHH!

The crazyiest thing that happend to me: I usually drive to Skydive Wissota in Wisconsin from Toledo, OH because it's awesome up there. At work someone told me that her cousin skydives and she gave him my e-mail address. He than mailed me and asked me where I jump so I told him and he goes: Oh are you the crazy kid from Switzerland the DZO and Jumpmaster from your DZ told me about a week ago at a boogie? So it turned out that he talked to my DZO and jump master a few days ago in Perris and they told him about me and out of a pure coincident he got my email. I thought that was pretty cool.
