Question to skydivers from Joe Jennings
boffin replied to JoeJ's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
What drew you to the sport in the first place? Always wanted to try, made a tandem, and fell in love not just with the sport, but the family What kept you in the sport? The exhiliration of free fall, the family, and BEER Has skydiving changed other areas of your life? Skydiving has totaly changed my life. I used to be quiet stayed home and watched tv after work. now everything is skydiving. there is an american flag infront of my office, and when i pull in in the morning I decide on my pattern and try to figure out what my spot would be. Has skydiving affected you personally? hate to quote a shirt but... "My girlfriend told me I had to choose, her or skydiving... I'm gonna miss her" but it was worth it ' Why should someone try skydiving? you dont ride in a boat to experience swimming... Other thoughts? We are one crazily diverse group of people, I work in hte music industry and jump with army vets and nuclear engineers, where else could all of us meet and become brothers other then a c182. -

was explaining the parts of the rig to a tandem (because what other kind of conversation would I have with her) and after getting to the pilot chute she asked "I thought you said you were jumping, why would you need the have a pilots chute" I just couldn't answer, just had to smile.

How to recover your lost main and freebag
boffin replied to Cutaway01's topic in Safety and Training
after spending a good part of my day Sunday looking for a friends main, I would defiantly appreciate learning these tips and tricks, be it a pamphlet or a book. The less time your out looking the less loads you miss. -
couldn't agree more

Not only is it comfortable, but it just seems to stay put with the factory wrist mount strap. Never had any problems. Always spot on, no batteries to worry about, what more do you want in a wrist mount...

Although it is still tough to bag having only a handful of jumps on it, the main is fantastic. consistent on heading soft openings. it is a great combination of forgiving and performance.Feels nearly impossible to stall.

Just bought a G4 for my first container, and could not love it more, I was jumping a wings for most of the season and found the G4 much more comfortable. The padding in the back is very comfortable on the trip up. the molded ends on the cutaway housing also feel much more sturdy that most rigs I have looked into.

Cessna Caravan crashed in the Cascades-Skydivers on board
boffin replied to Amazon's topic in The Bonfire
Never jumped out there, but I still feel that anyone that skydives is a brother of mine, and it has really hurt to hear this story. It is a sad day when something like this occurs. Thoughts and prayers go out to all of you. ~Blue Skies~ -
On Saturday NBC had a segment on Jeep World of Adventure Sports that focused on the USPA championships, and then focused on what a tandem jump is like. anyone else see this
