  1. Bad attempt to hide a problem !
  2. Yes be carefull with tape ! A colleague rigger found this on dive loops !
  3. Same thing but with a mini-link.
  4. Some years ago they have the same problem with the pilot-chute there was a safety bulletin about it (I can not find it right now) and change the pilot-chute. Wash the free-bag will be a better solution for this problem.
  5. This also, I just set 2 snaps, easy to remove the bungee.
  6. You are not correct ! Till last year (2013) the lifetime for a reserve in Belgium was 20 year. The BPRA (Belgian Parachute Rigger Association) raise this lifetime to a maximum of 25 years. This action starts in 2014. To keep everyone happy we extend the older reserves (from 1993) always with one year. Example: a reserve with DOM 01/01/1995 will get the end of his lifetime on 01/01/2017 on the age of 22 years. a reserve with DOM 01/01/1999 will get the end of his lifetime on 01/01/2024 on the age of 25 years. So in Belgium you will not find the older Swift , Swift+, etc...anymore. Exception: Reserve parachutes lifetime limited by the manufacture, we follow the rules in the manual. (Rush reserve by Firebird in Germany is 15 year)
  7. Facebook is not the holy grail! AAD announce that the manual will be on there website by next week, or you can require for further information. So don't guess for things: ask them! Or wait till next week.
  8. Recently "Firebird" announce a bulletin that say there harness-container systems have till now a maximum life-time of 15 years, and can now be extended to 20 year maximum. This is not for there Tandem systems and Reserves. This means that there "RUSH" reserve lifetime is maximum 15 years! Bulletin in attachment
  9. Last week a customer of me his Optima I don't work anymore, even with new batteries the screen stay blank. I contacted L&B to send it in for inspection and repair, Mads Larsen send me a mail with "No" problem. Today I receive a brand new Optima II. This is what I call "Customer Service"
  10. A customer of me have also a "fail" on his screen. So I contacted Paolo from ParaSport ([email protected]) he reply me immediately and ask me to send it back. A few days later I receive a brand new one! Good service to me.
  11. please change the title "Vigil misfires" other AAD are involved.
  12. A reserve in Belgium is 20 years. A harness container system is 25 years.
  13. I just receive this from MARS: Mirage Approved AAD List Current as of 20 April 2012 The following Automatic Activation Devices have been evaluated by Mirage Systems, Inc. to determine their operational compatibility with Mirage G3, G4.1 and RTS harness and container assemblies, and are APPROVED for installation: Brand Model Manufacturer Argus One Pin Aviacom, SA/NV Cypres 1, 2 One Pin (Student, Expert, Speed) Airtec, GmbH M2 One pin (Student, Expert) MarS a.s. Vigil I, II One Pin AAD nv/sa Advanced Aerospace Designs Mirage Systems, Inc. determines the operational compatibility of an AAD with our harness and container assemblies based upon the following criteria: The AAD will fit into the retaining pouch provided in the reserve container. The electrical cables are of sufficient length. The operating controls are accessible when installed. The closing loop cutter will fit into the elastic keeper provided. Approval IS NOT based upon the AADs operational reliability. For questions concerning the operational reliability of an AAD, contact the manufacturer. Install and use an AAD in Mirage harness and container assemblies at your own risk. Since the reserve closing loop of a Mirage harness and container assembly must pass through the pyrotechnic cutter assembly of an installed AAD, the potential exists for the cutter to fail to cut the closing loop and to trap it within the cutter mechanism. While the likelihood for such a failure may be remote, if it were to occur, it could possibly interfere with the immediate release of the reserve pilot chute, even if the ripcord is manually pulled. In addition, there is also the remote possibility that a partially cut closing loop could fail later, causing a dangerous premature deployment of the reserve parachute. Mirage owners should note that current designs of pyrotechnic cutters used in AADs do not include a "fail-safe" mechanism to guarantee that a faulty cutter cannot interfere with the manual operation of the reserve parachute in any way. Federal Aviation Regulation Part 105.43(c) states, “If installed, the automatic activation device must be maintained in accordance with manufacturer instructions for that automatic activation device.” Contact the manufacturer of your AAD if you have questions. Owners and users of Mirage Systems, Inc. products are encouraged to weigh the potential hazards of installing and using an AAD against the potential consequences of not having an AAD installed, and to make their own decision about using an AAD. For additional information, see Mirage Product Service Bulletin 06-11-2 dated 24 June 2011

  18. Wish pro and contra's and expierience on using this snaphook (static-line) with or without the locking pin? I am afraid to use the locking pin because of damage on the static line when we set more than 8 people out of the ramp of the C130. Are there people who know about a accidential open snaphook because of not using the locking pin?
  19. This container is made by a rigger in Holland (Netherlands) it's a copy of a thinback container, very simple to pack a round canopy in it. Mostly used by glider pilots, ther is no packing manual of this container as far as i know. (The rigger who made this containers died one or two years ago)
  20. I have seen this 2 times, the small ring of the drogue 3-ring system blocked in the middle ring due a wrong packing (small ring have one twist) It happend with a Vector II tandem and a Next tandem. Nothing wrong with this two systems, packing error.
  21. wow, that give the person all the answers !
  22. The DOM of this Cypres is 4/99 this mean it will expire 7/2011 (12 years + 3 months) The cutter can show another DOM there is no problem. The "Do not remove seal" is a sealing from the factory even when the did maintenance the will stick a new one on it. The problem is that you say there is no other sticker on the unit. When maintenance is done there must be another silver sticker on the side of the unit with the date of the last maintenance. This sticker must show at least the first 4-year inspection (2003) or the 8-year inspection (2007). Is there a red sticker on the unit that shows the last battery change ? When this 2 inspections are not done and you have to send in this Cypres it will cost you 2 times 4-year maintenance + new battery ! Best you contact AirTec and provide them with the serial number of this unit, the can tell you of this unit has his maintenance or not. Hope you don't pay too mush for the unit. Good luck.
  23. contact AirTec the will help you out
