  2. The title of that article does not match the rest. He is not suggesting as you are that global warming has stopped. Even if he was, the assertion that lack of change over an 8 year period represents sound evidence that man made factors have no effect would be incorrect, primarily for no other reason then the simple fact that everything has an effect. You cannot change something (increase emissions) without an effect. The reason for the use of "might", "could", "perhaps" is because nobody knows with certainty what effect it will be, however scientific data suggests that pollution from man made sources has the potential to increase average temperature, leading to problems that humans would consider adverse. Naturally people who perceive this hypothesis as requiring them to "give up" something like their SUV tend to reject it.
  3. Or until the pilot decides to reduce power on the good engine, rather then pushing it up trying to climb.
  4. That is disgusting. Why is there a glass cage around the drum set in a church?
  5. I guess what I meant to say was I am under the impression that a 28' reserve would hold together at weights and speeds far greater then 160lbs and 110-120-ish knots. What little info I have on them specifies weight ranges from 180lbs to 295lbs, speeds from 0 to 250 knots, with plotted opening forces at those speeds for pressure altitudes 0-15000 feet.....Durability one would expect in a common ejection parachute....(If you are referencing C9's). I meant it as a question to you not a statement.
  6. 160lbs is considered "obese" and too much for a 28' reserve?
  7. That 2nd pic is in Dan Poynters skydiving handbook, pg 163.
  8. correct. The certification basis for the 7ac was CAR 4a, you were not required to seek approval for aerobatic maneuvers as in part 23, and there are no placards regarding such maneuvers.
  9. Not that I would take a competing manufacturers word as fact, but what would you say about butlers opinion on the preserve 4? http://www.butlerparachutes.com/everythi.htm Last two paragraphs on the last page.
  10. I dont see why the rates cant go up $5-$10. That increase is nothing across 180 days. Not even close to a proportional increase. People should be happy to see only $5 extra.
  11. $$$ aside, would Pioneer even sell one to the civilian/sport market?
  12. Everybody has broken rules. Cloud minimums, airspace, TFRS, undetected paperwork discrepancies, etc. Chances are they were accidental and were glad nobody busted their ass. I cant think of anybody who would bust their friend because he flew his cherokee but forgot to update the W&B sheet. Willfully flying for 10+ years without the required certificate is in a class of its own.
  13. The FAA takes away your certificates (which you didnt have anyway), fines you (maybe), then tells you not to do that again, and hopes you dont. And of course if you go off and fly without a certificate they can always threaten to keep your certificate longer......
