  1. pressurized suit. Kittinger had one too and I think he even had to abort one or two jump at 60 000ft because of the suit being not strong enough. And even on the last attempt, the succesful one, his glove had a hole in it but he sustained the pain and got all the way up to the 100 000ft.

    HD and Sitfly

Don't know if it's only the photo and/or if it's what you call sitfly. But by the looks of it, your probably not relaxed cause you are buttflying and getting a big airstream in ur ass which might not be the best of ways to feel relaxed
  3. within a wing lenght of the ground you get more lift because of what we call the ground effet. On small runways planes use this to just lift of the runway and loose the drag from the road to gain speed quicker while staying in this 5m range and then gain altitude. Of course if they exit this area to quickly, the plane stalls and if there's a building you had to clear well put the breaks and make your prayers. So actually, this method of launch could get someone to do the first wingsuit landing. You gain speed, lift chest, get a good angle of attack, do some pretty proximity flight to the raod and then land smoothly back on it with the roller blades all over your body.

I'll try getting instructor there, that's probably gonna settle the problem since they pay for the training so I'll be good enough to fly with him and it will also be less expensive to teach him . But, I'm sure am already good enough...

    HD and Sitfly

Good thing you look to alot of video, thats what got me able to sitfly. I had started skydiving in the end of last years season, and finished it with 25 jumps, 2-3 of them trying to sitfly, but in vein. Then winter came in. I looked around 100 hours of videos, at school, before bed, before lunch, each time analyzing what was happening, trying to recreate in my head the pressure involved on the feet, arms, legs, back, head.. 5 months passed and I went to Z-hills to put some jumps since I was starting to be crazy and the season only started in 1 months and a half. First jump, I got out of the plane, put pressure on those feet, back, hands, and there ya go, got all the way down in a sitfly which was very stable. If your a visual dude like me, go to www.skydivingmovies.comand download the entire freefly section

    Kids Fall rate

Hopefully my fallrate range with be good enough, but I'm not that worried about it since I'm a lightweight jumper (145 lbs), naturally I fall slow. I was actually thinking about a weight belt as a solution, in a same time it will be easier for him to arch. Why is it not recommandable? And I wouldn't be in a hurry for picture if I were you since they only started building it. 14Feet 1400 HP,circle(no octogon), shittt cantt waitt!!!!
  8. I'm a little confused here, why is he wearing the no drag setup and her the big suit?

    Kids fall rate

Ok, I posted this in the tunnel forum section, but nobody seems to hang out there, I thought I'd have better chances here! Thx There is a new skyventure opening close to my home(montreal), in a near future and I'm pretty exited by the idea to initiate my lil couzin to flying. He'll be having his 9th birthday in a couple of months and he told me he was disappointed that he will have to wait another 6-7 years before skydiving with me, but I told him he won't have to wait for that long! So after seeing a couple of vids of kids flying in tunnels, I was wondering what are their freefall speeds. I can fly a little below 100 mph if it's needed on my belly, and can go around 160mph sitflying. He is lighter than me, probably almost a good hundred pounds, but his body surface is also smaller, so I thought that maybe this would all end up being proportional. Will I be able to fly with him? Thanks!
  10. Ok yeah, I admit I did a stupid comment up there, I was at work and didn't have any brain matter left to answer right. I know shit happens under canopy, I had around 40 when I started collapsing my slider and the second time I did it, I pulled the cords down, not on the side which made the slider move downwards right on my toggles which where still stowed. My right toggle unstowed itself because of the slider and the other was stuck in the grommet of the slider. Canopy started spinning while I was struggling to pop that shit out of there, took around 500 ft/4-5seconds to clear that out while that reserve ride idea was slowly rising in my mind. That event combined with a long spot gave me again the opportunity to test my landing skills with my ''B'' plan, which looked like a small dry piece of land within a field of flooded mud. Yeah, it looked like it was dry...

  12. Sry dude, it's probably my inexperience talking here, but I can't see how I could get a malfunction under a perfectly inflated canopy? I was also wondering, when you spread toggles/risers on the sides instead of pulling them down, will the canopy react differently?
  13. When you mean accuracy trick, you mean fixing one point that isnt going upwards or downwards while you fly your canopy which means you will likely land at that precise point using the glide ratio you are using, like when I'm trying to land those Cessna's right on the numbers of the runway on my piloting classes? And yeah, my harness is fully articulated, thx for that tip
  14. Yeah so I'm gonna get a RDS and some HMA lines for my sabre 2 then! Thx for the tips
  15. Alraight, I'm gonna try those tips next weekend. I'll get to jump a lot since it will be my Birthday
  16. I already open at 3500' which is kind of high already, but at my Dz they want people to be safe, which I respect.
  17. I've been having some long spots this year cause I've started to do exclusively freefly, so I almost always exit last or just before students since they open higher. Problem his, since I jump a Twin otter and there is rarely under 15 people in it, it's not rare to be far away from the landing zone. It's not that bad, I mean, I had to practice my ''B'' plans a couple of times which gave me a lot of confidence in my landing accuracy, but now I'd like to be able to get to the LZ almost every time if possible. So that got me thinking, which is better, rears or toggles with wind pushing you to the LZ, and I've heard of fronts if wind is against you? Thanks (Sabre2-150 loaded 1.1 if it matters here)
  18. 641 mph is what he did... And yes, given the altitude he had and the temperature involed, he did get faster then the speed of sound. What we know: 100 000ft exit 641mph top speed Now I estimed roughly that to get to terminal speed given the small density of the air at that altitude it would have taken 20 000ft. And then, this nice little calculater comes in:http://www.aerospaceweb.org/design/scripts/atmosphere/ At that altitude, the speed of sound is around 585 mph, so yes, kittenger holds the record to be the first man going over mach 1 in freefall. But, what this guy wants to do is to go over the speed of sound at sea level units, which gives 742 mph.

  20. he's been saying this for about 10 years... Never got to do it, and I don't think this time will be different. but I sure would be happy for him if it happens
  21. well, they'll be in freefall more than 50-60 seconds. Thats the only benefit I can see.
  22. Yeah, I could hold a stable sitfly on my 30th jump.
  23. At my Dz, it's been a while that we have a landing place in front of the Dz for C-D licence holders (they swoop the manifest
  24. gotta have some 50cent knee reaching gangsta style t-shirt then
