  1. From the quality and style of his posts, an Iranian sponsored comic book... I can argue with opinions and I can argue with perspective. I can't argue with sick, delusional imagination O A proud representative of God's chosen people. "Carpe diem, quam minimum credula postero."
  2. sounds like you have a serious inferiority complex. We are god's chosen people, live with it. Show me one religion (including yours) that doesn't say they're god's favorites? would be a hard sell if they didn't... but that's irrelevant for this incident your posts make no sense. it's almost amusing... "Carpe diem, quam minimum credula postero."
  3. I don't think anyone said they ONLY had paint guns. they had personal side arms as well but were ordered to use them only as a last resort. They asked for permission to open fire only after some of them were almost beaten to death and their side arms were taken and used against them if they didnt have side arms they would have been dead "Carpe diem, quam minimum credula postero."
  4. if the scenario is the same (i,e a well known blockade in a state of war, with sufficient warning given and ignored), then from a legal point of view, it would be legal according to international law. would it be smart? probably not. "Carpe diem, quam minimum credula postero."
  5. i saw it here http://www.ynetnews.com/articles/0,7340,L-3898181,00.html it's an Israeli newspaper but considering that Israel said from the start that it will deliver the supplies to Gaza, I don't think it should be an issue (no issue of "opinion" here). sadly, this fact is being ignored by the mass media elsewhere... edit: a cnn link as well:
  6. I agree. and it also makes me believe that many of the people who joined this thing in good faith were misled by the organizers who, as clearly apparent by their own statements and video shown, did not plan for a quiet resistance. I don't think it matters what was actually on board. the fact is that Israel said it would allow it to go in once inspected. btw, the supplies that were on board were already transferred to Gaza and currently Hamas refused to accept the shipment so its stuck in the border crossing. "Carpe diem, quam minimum credula postero."
  7. Oh sorry, I forgot us jews control the world media. how is an Australian newspaper more or less impartial than any other? "Carpe diem, quam minimum credula postero."
  8. Use them when you need them and dump them the morning after, huh? "Carpe diem, quam minimum credula postero."
  9. no. but saying on video that they are is. as seen in the OP video Peaceful activists wouldn't have armed themselves with knives slingshots and metal clubs. Once again you ignore facts. Israel said it will deliver the supplies after it has been inspected and they refused. moreover, all of the supplies have been sent to Gaza where its stuck at the border crossing because Hamas wouldn't accept it. another proof that delivering the supplies was not the main issue here. that could have been done peacefully like its being done daily. I'm sure some did and they were fooled by the blood seeking organizers. again, there was a simple way to deliver aid without violence. They wanted a media circus and unfortunately Israel was stupid enough to give it to them. "Carpe diem, quam minimum credula postero."
  10. Boatloads of bloody-minded pacifists "Carpe diem, quam minimum credula postero."
  11. you need to be careful with your assumptions about international law. When a state of was exists, a naval blockade is legal by international law. and yes, it can also include international waters (it cannot block access to another nuetral country though). such a blockade can be enforced and any ship (even civilian) can be boarded if the existance of a blockade is well published, the intention of the ship to run the blockade is known and the ship has been warned. all of these terms are met. this doesn't mean that this wasn't a poor PR move on Israel's part but it was damned if it did and damned if it didn't "Carpe diem, quam minimum credula postero."
  12. wow, its been awhile since I've seen such an intelligent post... "Carpe diem, quam minimum credula postero."
  13. I'm not an expert on legal issues so I hope i'm not way off but as far as I understand, maritime blockades are a legitimate and recognized measure under international law that may be implemented as part of an armed conflict at sea. and, a blockade may be imposed at sea, including in international waters, so long as it does not bar access to the ports and coasts of neutral states now, if a blockade is in effect and is known and the ship has indicated its intentions, it can be boarded after sufficient warning. again, this may have been a stupid move by Israel. but these were not "peaceful civilian" ships. and again, I think the video says it all... "Carpe diem, quam minimum credula postero."
  14. If the desired result was to get the supply through all they had to do was to let Israel inspect and clear it. Israel promised to let the supplies in once inspected and despite the mess, they already transferred what was on that ship to Gaza. They didn't care about the supplies, they cared about making a scene, hence the violent response on board "Carpe diem, quam minimum credula postero."
  15. And you had every right to board those ships to inspect them. and if your forces boarded those ships and were almost lynched like this video shows, you would have had every right to respond with force. Takeover video let me remind you that: - Israel said it would transfer all of the supplies to Gaza upon inspection (and it fact, it did so today) - they boarded the ships with paint guns and almost got killed by the mob - this is exactly what IHH (which have supported terror groups in the past) wanted. always ask yourself, who has the most to gain from something. they wanted a media circus and sadly, Israel was stupid enough to give it to them. "Carpe diem, quam minimum credula postero."
  16. well judging from the outcome which is Israel is being displayed as the bad guy (again) while people ignore some basic facts that change the "innocent, peaceful civilians" story, Israel did wrong. They set up a media trap and Israel walked right into it. "Carpe diem, quam minimum credula postero."
  17. irst of all, don't get me wrong, I am not happy with this incident. as much as these were not "non-violent peaceful activists". fair question, and I'm not sure I can give you a good answer without considering the whole context and not just the actual takeover. in the same scenario of a political group with a clear agenda other than humanitarian aid provoking and ignoring multiple warnings a takeover is imminent. Do you think an Iranian commando unit would have used paintball guns and resort to live ammo only after being lynched? judging from the way they shot their own civilians a few months ago, I doubt it... "Carpe diem, quam minimum credula postero."
  18. another close up video of the initial takeover. if this is not a lynch attempt, I dont know what is. I'm not an arms expert but if you check out 00:52, it looks like a paintball gun to me. Close up video note, this is not easy to watch. "Carpe diem, quam minimum credula postero."
  19. the word that was used in the original source you quoted. if you want to add your own words, it's not a quote "Carpe diem, quam minimum credula postero."
  20. Wow, this is low even for you... "Carpe diem, quam minimum credula postero."
  21. here you go http://www.reuters.com/article/idUSTRE64U27020100531 "Carpe diem, quam minimum credula postero."
  22. define independent? this is an Israeli newspaper, not an Israeli spokesperson. how is it less valid than Al Jazeera or the Turk TV which is quoted as fact? but anyway, just look at the video taken during the initial takeover. you can clearly see the mob storm the first soldier down and then another one being thrown off deck. "Carpe diem, quam minimum credula postero."
  23. http://www.ynetnews.com/articles/0,7340,L-3896796,00.html and This is an Israeli newspaper so you can say it could be biased but considering that all of the rest of the sources take the Palestinian/Turk channels as pure fact, I don't think its an issue (especially when the video shows exactly what is described) "Carpe diem, quam minimum credula postero."
  24. The initial force was equiped mostly with paint guns (anti riot gear) and wes attacked with knives, crow bars and some live ammo (possibly from a gun taken from a wounded soldier). only after an Israeli soldier was thrown off deck (30 feet) and another stabbed, they started using more force. There is a video of the initial takeove showing the guy being thrown off deck by the mob. innocent peace activitsts, sure... I can't believe Israel didn't see this coming considering how much they enjoy the media circus. "Carpe diem, quam minimum credula postero."
  25. and the 6 wounded (2 criticically) soldirer were hurt by the breeze, right? While it is an unfortunate outcome that shouldn't have happened, this is exactly what the organizers have hoped for. if all they wanted was helping Gaza, they would have accepted the offer to transer the supplies peacefully like is being done daily through Israel and/or Egypt. still, Israel shouldn't have been dragged into this provocation "Carpe diem, quam minimum credula postero."
