  1. Yeah Then Gaza Strip has more populated areas and less populated areas. As you said, a simple google earth view will show these claims of being the most densely populated in the world, are far from being true. But, if you repeat something enough time... "Carpe diem, quam minimum credula postero."
  2. Actually, I don't think that's the case. they've proved that they can maintain a ceasefire when they want to. They followed the recent 72 hour cease fire until 4 hours before it was scheduled to end. But if you're right, it's much worse. it means there is no point in signing any agreement with Hamas leaders if their people continue to shoot at Israel... "Carpe diem, quam minimum credula postero."
  3. Ok, let's say Iron Dome is ~90% effective (not including mortar shells and short distance rockets where it's less effective. If someone was shooting at your family and had only 10% of hitting them, would you allow them to continue? It's great that you're suggesting Israelis take these chances, would you accept it for your own family? Your analogy is flawed. you're comparing burglaries (which you can easily recover from) to murder (which is not so easy to recover from) Completely agree. But Israel is doing just that. you're immune system will destroy a cell if the pathogen "hides" in a civilian cell, much like cancer treatment will harm nearby cells to kill the cancer. If Israel went all out (and I can think of several countries that would go all out to stop missile attacks), Gaza would be flat. Luckily, this is not the case. Israel is trying to take out the threat while avoiding hurting civilians. not an easy task when they are used as human shields... "Carpe diem, quam minimum credula postero."
  4. Well, you can force Israel to share it's Iron Dome defense system with Hamas, like the UN suggested... http://www.washingtontimes.com/news/2014/aug/1/un-condemns-israel-us-not-sharing-iron-dome-hamas/ "Carpe diem, quam minimum credula postero."
  5. Ok then, let's look at a few "independent sources" that do more than just "say". They also "show" Full story with a video on how Hamas set up and fired rockets right next to hotels and apartments: http://www.ndtv.com/...fires-rockets-571033 A finnish reporter saying Rockets are fired from right next to Gaza's main hospital (the same one Hamas leaders are hiding in...) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Nu-e5qWXx-k Italian journalist Gabriele Barbati said he was able to speak freely about witnessing a Hamas misfire that killed nine children at the Shati camp, confirming the Israel Defense Forces version of events, but only after leaving Gaza, “far from Hamas retaliation.”" http://www.algemeiner.com/...d-children-in-shati/ And if that's not enough for you, there are also the videos where Hamas admit it themselves https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yuNQvPh8XKA Need more proof? As usual, your hatred towards Israel blinds you to the fact that Hamas is the worst enemy of the Palestinian people you care about so much... "Carpe diem, quam minimum credula postero."
  6. I think it's more of a teritorial dispute, rather than a religious conflict. At least (mostly) on the Israeli side. Some do try to turn it into a religious war though... "Carpe diem, quam minimum credula postero."
  7. A few notes... Iron dome is indeed impressive but it's far from perfect so when the sirens go off, you still have 10-15 seconds to run for cover. If anything, it allows Israel to react with less force. Can you imagine the response if hundreds of missiles actually landed on Israeli cities (as they target cities and civilians) causing hundreds of deaths? Saying Israel shouldn't respond and let Hamas fire freely because it has invested in shelters, sirens and Iron Dome doesn't make sense. Ok, I agree. how exactly do you do that? Good idea in theory but: a) Hamas will not run out of missiles that quickly as it's being supplied by Iran and others (and they also manufacture the basic ones themselves) b) an Iron Dome intercepter missile is way more expensive than the Hamas rockets. c) not responding sends the wrong message. they will keep trying (e.g. the array of terror tunnels crossing into Israel) But this is exactly what Israel is saying. Gaza is not a democracy. While Hamas won the elections to Parliment, they overthrew the PA by force. If you try to resist them, you'll get executed. Not argueing that military action is not the best option. No one in Israel wanted to go into Gaza. People keep saying what Israel shouldn't do. I'll be happy to hear suggestions on what Israel SHOULD do. "Carpe diem, quam minimum credula postero."
  8. I knew you would bring up this single picture again (as you always do when this topic is raised) While I agree that that was a poor activity for a school field trip, your interpretation of it is completely off. If this is the best you can find Vs. a well documented array of hateful official school textbooks and TV shows, it kind of makes my point. Again, I grew up in Israel and I can name many flaws of the Israeli education system. teaching children to hate and kill was definitely not one of them. "Carpe diem, quam minimum credula postero."
  9. Absolutely false. I grew up in Israel and I was not "taught to hate Palestinians", not even close to it. While the Israeli education system focuses more on the Israeli narrative there is nothing like what you see in official Palestinian text books and children TV shows case in point: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=21dIRCMfnHs "Carpe diem, quam minimum credula postero."
  10. No, not really, your analogy ignores one simple point. Israel sends it's troops to fight while the civilians stay in the back. Hamas put their civilians (often forcing them) in the front and is shooting from behind them. So in your analogy, if the brother tries to hit you, then yes, you are a legitimate target for him, if he's trying to hit your kid who is behind (not in front of) you, then no, he's just another terrorist like his brother. I even found a nice illustration to show the difference... "Carpe diem, quam minimum credula postero."
  11. Yes, and you would feel aweful about it and you will be mad as hell that you were put in this no win situation. but if the choice is between risking that kid or risking your own kid who will be shot if you don't remove the threat, you would have made the right choice "Carpe diem, quam minimum credula postero."
  12. Ok, that's fair. Sounds like you would do whatever you can to not hit the kid, including warning both of them, firing a few warning shots, etc. which is exactly what Israel has been trying to do. But, if after all these warnings, I still chose to keep shooting and using my kid as a human shield, you have every right to protect your family, as long as you're doing your best not to hit the kid (as much as possible) Again, Israel has no desire to see civilians die. it doesn't align with our values and it definitely doesn't serve any purpose for us. The only ones that benefit from civilian deaths are Hamas "Carpe diem, quam minimum credula postero."
  13. Oh really, so what would you do if I shoot at your family while hiding behind my kid? would you just stand there and hope I keep missing or will you try to neutralize me to protect your family, even if you may unintentionally hit my kid? "Carpe diem, quam minimum credula postero."
  14. No. Civilians have been killed and that is horrible and definitely not what Israel wants. I'm saying that most civilians were killed because of Hamas cowardly tactics of putting them next to rocket launchers. I'm also saying that dead civilians are exactly what Hamas wants and that they often "manufacture" and stage events to serve their media campaign (which is sadly, working) Hamas is the worst thing that happened to Gaza "Carpe diem, quam minimum credula postero."
  15. Yeah, happens all the time. They also used images from horor movies http://www.algemeiner.com/2014/07/15/hamas-uses-horror-movie-still-of-headless-girl-in-miniskirt-to-depict-gaza-casualties-on-social-media-warning-graphic-video/ Just google "Pallywood" and you can see some interesting productions where dead people get up and do another take. "Carpe diem, quam minimum credula postero."
  16. Back on the original topic of news accuracy, here are a few examples showing the main reason you haven't seen "proof" under from Israeli sources about Hamas using civilians as human shields. Hamas has threatened journalists in Gaza not to report it. now that they are out, some chose to speak up... 3 examples, from India, Finland and Italy... Full story with a video on how Hamas set up and fired rockets right next to hotels and apartments: http://www.ndtv.com/article/world/ndtv-exclusive-how-hamas-assembles-and-fires-rockets-571033 Why you usually don't hear about it: "This report is being aired on NDTV and published on ndtv.com after our team left the Gaza strip - Hamas has not taken very kindly to any reporting of its rockets being fired" Want more: A finnish reporter saying Rockets are fired from right next to Gaza's main hospital (the same one Hamas leaders are hiding in...) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Nu-e5qWXx-k Want more: "Italian journalist Gabriele Barbati said he was able to speak freely about witnessing a Hamas misfire that killed nine children at the Shati camp, confirming the Israel Defense Forces version of events, but only after leaving Gaza, “far from Hamas retaliation.”" http://www.algemeiner.com/2014/07/30/italian-journalist-defies-hamas-out-of-gaza-far-from-hamas-retaliation-misfired-rocket-killed-children-in-shati/ "Carpe diem, quam minimum credula postero."
  17. Yeah, there are some fucks on the Israeli side. I (like most Israelis) completely reject them. Main difference is, they do not run Israel. Hamas does run Gaza... And, Do you really want to compare how many fanatics are on each side? how many terror attacks have been carried out by Israelis against Palestinians Vs. Palestinians against Israelis? Trust me, you'll lose that one... "Carpe diem, quam minimum credula postero."
  18. Again, how can you keep a straight face while writing this crap? Hamas has openly called (and threatened) Palestinians to act as human shields. They were caught hiding and firing rockets and explosive from schools, hospitals and homes and there are multiple videos showing them firing around children and even holding children while fighting. your hatred is blinding you. If you support the Palestinians, you should reject Hamas. it's the worst thing that ever happened to them... "Carpe diem, quam minimum credula postero."
  19. Look, it's pretty simple. If the basic premise for all of your statements is that Israelis don't have any claim on this land and that they were "brought in from Europe after the holocaust and took over a land that belonged to someone else", there is no point in even discussing anything with you. And just to be clear, I completely reject that position. Israelis have a historic claim on this land. who are you to say that "it started in 1948"? you can't chose the start date to fit your views (btw, factually, it started way before 1948, google the riots that took place in the 30's). and everything I wrote is fact. There was never a state called Palestine. there was a division plan following WW2 to divide the land between Jews and Arabs, which one side rejected and attacked. this is fact. until 1967 the west bank was Jordan and Gaza was Egypt. Fact. I'm not saying Palestinian shouldn't have a state (I support a 2 state solution), Just not if their state replaces mine... "Carpe diem, quam minimum credula postero."
  20. This map is bullshit... 1947 - there was no Palestine (and comparing "land" to "settlements" doesn't make sense... Partition plan - This was the partition plan based on the then population distribution (which again, shows how wrong the previous map is), the "Jews" accepts it. the "Arabs" rejected it and attacked. so there could have been a "Palestine" if they accepted the partition. They did not 1949-1967 Still, no such thing as Palestine. the west Bank was Jordan and the Gaza strip was Egypt. No wonder neither ever wanted them back... Present - so if Gaza is "Palestinian land" (which it is), what is the justification for attacking Israel? There is no Israeli presence in Gaza since 2005 "Carpe diem, quam minimum credula postero."
  21. no twistin anything, it's a fact. just an irrelevant fact. There are many countries that didn't exist a few decades ago. Would you say the same about Jordan who was founded in 1946? How does your logic sit with your support of a Palestinian state. that never existed... No, but there was an "Israel" in that land 2000 ago, which is more than you could say for most other nations. who are you to decide what timeline is relevant and what is not? No, not denying it. just saying it's irrelevant. the relevant part is the fact that this has been the Jewish homeland for 3000+ years When said country keeps saying Israel should be wiped off the map and has been waging war (although by proxy) countinously for decades. Saying that Iran "never started a war" is naive and weak. Hezbollah is a proxy of Iran, they don't move without orders from Tehran I hope this deal works but I highly doubt it... "Carpe diem, quam minimum credula postero."
  22. Oh, where do I begin.... a. even you can't deny Israeli's historic connection to this land. and there was a jewish presence there always. Claiming people just "moved in" is simply not true. And btw, if not existing before 1948 means it shouldn't exist, why don't you apply it to Palestine. after all, it NEVER existed... No, not because god said so, but because of a 3000 year, well documented heritage Better than signing it and violating it like Iran and Syria did, right? actions like stopping the Iraqis and Syrians from getting nukes? hell, someone should... beside, Israel never said another country should be "wiped off the map", Iran has, on multiple occasions. But, as always, if your basic premise is that Israel has no right to exist, there is no point in talking about it... "Carpe diem, quam minimum credula postero."
  23. Surprise surprise... Iran says to continue building at Arak nuclear site despite deal "Carpe diem, quam minimum credula postero."
  24. so, even though an AQ affiliate claimed responsibilty for this attack , it didn't stop them (as always) from blaming Israel... "Carpe diem, quam minimum credula postero."
