  1. I had a bad grommet on one of my reserve flaps that was gradually sawing through the reserve closing loop. It never got to the point where it broke, but it could have. 2. There's an 18 hole disc golf course now. "If it wasn't easy stupid people couldn't do it", Duane. My momma said I could be anything I wanted when I grew up, so I became an a$$hole.
  3. When you consider how many jumps are made there compared to how many incidents there are the incident rate is pretty darn good. And it's not just tandems there either, they may do 200 tandems a day on weekends, but there's also a ton on teams and fun jumpers. I heard there are 13 4 way belly teams training there this year alone. "If it wasn't easy stupid people couldn't do it", Duane. 4. I guess that's one downside to SDC, and also one of the reasons I visit other dz's. Some people get a little carried away with the beer rules though and then it loses it's meaning. 5. Maybe there used to be issues and people don't know the place has changed, or refuse to believe it. I've only been jumping since 2003, and never made it to SDC until 2006, so I don't know what it was like back when there were incidents like Ron Passmore's. I've been to a few dz's where people sit around and whine about how bad SDC is, but I don't hear people at SDC talking crap about other dz's, so it seems a little one sided to me. 6. It doesn't hurt that the Democrats have been holding things up with the RTW laws either. When I was there they pretty much took roll call then reccessed until Monday.
  7. I'd go with a T2i, T3i, whatever they're up to now, for jumping, save the nice heavy stuff for ground only. "If it wasn't easy stupid people couldn't do it", Duane. My momma said I could be anything I wanted when I grew up, so I became an a$$hole.
  8. I kind of took this as the USPA helped write it. It seems to me like a good way for the USPA to be legally in charge, since non group member dz's will be required to follow their rules whether they agree with them or not. 9. I knew I should've bought that stuff from your friends when I had the chance. "If it wasn't easy stupid people couldn't do it", Duane. My momma said I could be anything I wanted when I grew up, so I became an a$$hole.
  10. I was going to tell them that we already knew you liked it up the azz, and they should come up with something better. "If it wasn't easy stupid people couldn't do it", Duane. My momma said I could be anything I wanted when I grew up, so I became an a$$hole.

    Tron

One of my friends said, "Tron did not suck." I agree, it does not suck. "If it wasn't easy stupid people couldn't do it", Duane. My momma said I could be anything I wanted when I grew up, so I became an a$$hole.
  13. Well I could see that with what they were posting. "If it wasn't easy stupid people couldn't do it", Duane. My momma said I could be anything I wanted when I grew up, so I became an a$$hole.
  14. Somebody has Lucky's phone, so if someone has an alternate contact let her know. I assume she lost it at a restraunt. "If it wasn't easy stupid people couldn't do it", Duane. My momma said I could be anything I wanted when I grew up, so I became an a$$hole.
  15. I have done very little with the servo focus mode, but it seemed to me that it never locked on to anything, it lets you shoot with the focus wherever it happens to be. My other thought is, are you using the full 9 points of focus or just the center? In a picture like that with all 9 points active it might pick the balloon as the focal point and not the guy. 16. How did you launch a 16 way out of a Skyvan? I thought you could only have 9 or 10 behind the line. The biggest I've heard of so far was a 21 way out of a C-130. 3 rows of 7 with 2 people laying down in each row. "If it wasn't easy stupid people couldn't do it", Duane. 17. I used 1" wide sticky back Velcro strips on mine. I sandwiched the ringsight in between the sticky sides, then just wrap it around the Hypeye indicator and the bite switch when I'm shooting stills also. Rubberbands work too as long as you don't take it on and off the helmet a lot. Tape may actually be stronger than a wire tie. "If it wasn't easy stupid people couldn't do it", Duane. 18. Yes it could, or the ringsight may rip out of the helmet and release the main, but maybe not if the Hypeye was attached solidly the ringsight, but then the wire tie probably wouldn't hold that kind of force anyway, or the Hypeye itself might rip off the helmet. It's hard to say since there's a whole lot of stuff that can help or hurt the situation. "If it wasn't easy stupid people couldn't do it", Duane. 19. I heard of a guy that used to use a Polaroid for stills. He built a sheet metal box to catch the pictures as they came out of the front, and used his hand to push the button. That was a long time ago though, there's better options now. "If it wasn't easy stupid people couldn't do it", Duane. 20. Actually I forgot a couple, it was 3 1/2 times falling off early. The first two were hanging exits on a 182, 5 seconds early (I got in before the last guy), then 10 seconds early (I got on level but was a long way away). The third was climbing out of the SDC otter in winter, missed the step and the handle. I got hung up in a CASA at Rantoul launching a 6 way round. We shimmied down the ramp, did a hop at the end, and I swung my feet back as hard as I could like I do on a 182 exit when I'm on the side. The formation spun quickly and blew up. I had time to wonder why I was floating so bad before I looked over my shoulder and saw I was still in the plane. My leg strap had caught an eye bolt on the side of the plane and I was dangling underneath it. Jim Benton drug me back in. A month later we were jumping into a party with a 182 that didn't have a jump step. The first guy went out on the outside of the tire, I climbed out second with the intention of going Golden Knight. I slipped off the back of the spring and fell, but I was able to hook the door jamb with my right knee, so again, I was hanging under the plane. I gave them thumbs up that I was okay, the third guy assesed the situation and decided it looked okay from his end so he climbed out over me. The last guy was diving so it didn't matter to him. To exit I just straightened my leg and fell away, after a little tumble. Stan named that exit the Lead Knight. "If it wasn't easy stupid people couldn't do it", Duane. 21. I did probably hear you wrong, it happens. I don't remember who the skunk girl was. We were talking about the grease trap at the cafe backing up, she didn't know what a grease trap is so we described it as a skunk times ten. She said that reminds her of going home with all the skunk roadkill on the way. Back on subject, I have docked on our tail more times than I care to count, fell of way early 1 1/2 times, and got hung up once. "If it wasn't easy stupid people couldn't do it", Duane. 22. You gave me one of my favorite quotes from nationals, "Sometimes we go by 'The Nasties' because, you know, we're girls." Not quite as good as the girl who said, "I like the smell of skunk, it makes me happy." but it's close. "If it wasn't easy stupid people couldn't do it", Duane. My momma said I could be anything I wanted when I grew up, so I became an a$$hole.
  23. The bridle exiting the side of the roll spins the canopy as it comes out of the bag. I always had linetwists, that were nearly always in the same direction. I was told to roll the bridle extension down the center of the roll instead of coming out of the side, no more linetwists from the canopy getting spun as it left the bag. 24. Glad I wasn't the only one... I loved that high step. The Deland step looked harder than it really was. I didn't like having it kind of under the plane, but it was easy to find. The hardest I've found so far was CSC's PAC, he wasn't giving us much of a cut so the prop blast was pretty strong (not at nationals). Are you from either Tenacity or Neccessary Equipment? 25. I just tried to vote a little bit ago, I guess they ended public voting already. "If it wasn't easy stupid people couldn't do it", Duane. My momma said I could be anything I wanted when I grew up, so I became an a$$hole.
