  1. mchamp, check out #40 on this list. 421 km/h - roughly 260 MPH.
  2. Taking our DZO's sister on a tandem. I'm the purple spider monkey on the side of the plane.
  3. :19:0 Finally set a new personal best for total number of jumps in one day.
  4. Take this guys class, it's $15 for 5 PDF's and will teach you a TON about your camera and how to use it. Digital-SLR-Guide
  5. :6:0 We had weather most of the weekend, finally started jumping LATE on Sunday and got a few in.
  6. Love mine, need to order a second one for my second rig.
  7. A memorable student for two reasons, one, she was a lot of fun on the ground, in the plane and in the air. Second, at the end of this sky dive I got my first cutaway. I also think the pic's where the TI is smiling and having fun like this one are more interesting as well.
  8. 634 1 1 line step through that hung the slider, it appears.
  9. Interesting, not only was I taught on, I then had to jump said taught on pack jobs (200sq ft+). Made me hate packing so much that I did NOT pack unless I had to until I started flying video at a DZ with no packers and wanted to know what was in the pack job. A lesson re-learned this past weekend. Now I fly much smaller canopies and would rather pack for myself.
  10. LOL, yes, I know that was the cause. My question was the ideas on how it got that way. After reading through all the great feedback here, I'm betting single line step through while the rig was being moved. My son and another younger packer where doing the moving while I was gearing up for another load. Lesson learned on my part.
  11. I had not thought of that and it was a tangled mess when we got it back to clean it up later. When I pack myself, 18-24" tops is left. I don't know in this case as somebody else packed it. Great lesson to be learned here and I normally do all my own packing. In this case they did stow it all, I bet the single line roll through happened... sounds very plausible to me.
  12. I will have to look this weekend, I can't remember right now.
  13. Clicky I have a speculation at this point, but nothing more. A little background; normally, I only pack for myself. I make 6-10 video jumps a day, normally all on this canopy. A Spector 150 loaded at 1.4ish. This day however I'd been jumping the 182 and doing back to back's using two rig's and letting the TI's and a new young packer pack for me. Our primary pilot got back and we did this jump from the King Air. Spot was long and left so we dumped high as per the TI's indications, and glad that we did. Line twists on this canopy are no big deal. Kicked out of those and then the fun began. If you look at 25-27 seconds you can see that the left break line is wrapped around the toggle on the other side, ~I think~ somehow. Next thing I know the canopy is diving and turning hard on it's face and see that line across the middle so I chopped it. When we got the canopy back, the breaks where still stowed, the top right keeper on the right toggle was the only thing not stowed, but there was NO damage and the break was still set. Had that line be caught there it would have torn that keeper out coming loose. Thoughts, ideas, speculation's? BTW, I do NOT us an RSL anymore, it had just been removed 3 weeks prior with my last repack. Sigh... did not find the free bag or pilot chute either.
  14. Playing with the 32 bit non-pro to render a 4 minute clip on a very fast laptop the other day took right at 5 minutes for an MP4 clip. The same clip in Vegas 8Pro 64 bit took me 1 minute and 13 seconds. If 9.0D has the bugs worked out, I'm ready to shell out the $$ and buy the upgrade.
  15. It is on 9.0d now and I don't have any problems with the program... Are you running the 32bit or 64bit version? 64 I'm going to assume based on your responding to me.
  16. Do you know if the 64 bit version issues are straight yet? I'm ready to upgrade, but not until they are! DSE told me to hold off on 9.0A, and I've just not gotten back to it yet.
  17. I have two cards. I land, pull one card, give to editor, grab my other card, clear it, go pack and repeat. Anywhere from 6-10 times a day right now. When I can afford a second rig that number will probably go even higher.
  18. Right now a referb is kind of out. I really want a back up that is like the 100 with a side load memory card slot. I do this for hire and so it's very important to have that.
  19. I currently shoot a 100, just want another for a back up. May just need to go ahead and pick up a couple more from sony style while I can I guess. Was/am still hoping to find something that side loads though. I use the hype-eye-D Pro from Hypoxic, love it, works great!
  20. Hello, I hate to even ask this and yes I've searched several different things looking for the answer. The CX-110 will NOT work with the way that my helmet is setup, I really need to get to the card on the side like my 100 has. What is/are my options for a new CX100ish type camera to have as a back up these days? Am doing enough videos a weekend now that having a back up on hand is a must. When I go to B&H, the 100's are discontinued. Thanks in advanced, BK
  21. +1, I really want to upgrade to the T2i body this summer.
  22. I work in a pretty humid climate and I've had very, very little fogging on either of my lens's. I don't swap or remove either though during the day and even during the week many weeks. I've found that helps to cut down on the fogging that I've gotten in the past.
  23. Beth, I use an XS as well. I had the EXACT same error happen about 5 months ago. I sent it in for repair, had it back in around a week if memory serves and I've had no problems since. I've shot probably close to 100 tandems with it since the repair, plus hundreds of non-skydiving stills with it. I don't know what caused it though. All in all I'm happy with my XS, good balance of quality, weight, and price. BK
