***The letter (i.e. Raven IIg) describes minor modifications. The first batch of Ravens were obviously "A", most of which had their original sliders repalced by bikini sliders, converting them to Raven-B. Raven -C were rare. Raven -D were a major redesign and were the first Ravens with large logo panels, aka. "Super Raven." Raven -E,F, G, etc. were all minor modifications. what about those "major redesign"? could you tell some details?

ok, one last (i promise! ) question: is there anybody out there who would NOT encourage me to buy a RAVEN 3 to skydive it as my (first) main to train for base? (note: for additional information see post #41)

is this S in tyrol (austria) a "almost-legal" object? is it tolerated that it is jumped? is it only jumped in the dark or also at daylight?

i have a question to a quite old canopy: it is a Raven 3 (III?) - DOM 06/1987 - dacron lines - used as a reserve in a student rig - 3 jumps. is this a Raven or a Super Raven? (i do not know if the labes says "3" or "III") would it be ok to jump it as my main though it is really old? my plan is to put approximatelly 300 jumps on it (as my main!). i have 136 lbs. naked. would it be ok for my weight to skydive a raven 3 (III?), or would you recommend a raven II. maybe i could get problems to reach the dropzone on (more) windy days? note: i would like to jump a raven because it was recommended to me to use a big 7-cell on skydives (preferably a raven or fury) to train for base-jumping (where a wingloading between 0.6 and 0.8 is common). i am looking forward to your opinions. thanks for your efforts! edited: spelling

ok, here's an offer - maybe it would be just fine for my purpose: Raven III (note: i am 62 kg / 136 lbs naked) 06/1987 dacron lines used as a reserve in student rig 3 jumps 100 Euro (=120 USD) should i ask the seller how ofter it was packed? (is this that important?) should this be a Raven or Super Raven - how can i proof? (is it that important?) so i think this could be perfect for me skydiving it to train for base? my wingload-calculation: 136 lbs. (weight) + 34 lbs. (gear, clothing, helmet,...) = 170 lbs. 170 lbs. / 249 sqft. (raven III) = 0,68 (wingload) @tom (and all): what do you think - could the Raven III be a problem for me (62 kg / 136 lbs) on (more) windy days - so that i am not able to get back to dropzone or have to stay on the ground? i hope i am not too much annoying you due to my large number of posts/questions i posted - i am only an ignorant beginner who wants to make it the right way. thank you once again for your great efforts! well, i found 2 fury in the 2nd-hand-stocklist of a (almost) local rigger: DOM: 1987 jumps: 450 price: 277 USD lines: dacron DOM: 1988 jumps: 100 price: 307 USD lines: (maybe without lines) maybe they are overpriced - i don't know. but i wonder if "all" aviable fury (worldwide) would be 18 years old or even older?

well i thought it would be better to post my question into this existing threat than to post a new one that has (almost) the same subject... ok or bad habit?

as you may have read on my other posting i am searching for a canopy to make my basetraining while skydiving. i got that hint, that the "fury" would be a better option compared with the "raven". what do you think? edited to add: sorry for my bad english - it is already too late here in europe...
