  1. Gumpdom: Initial Setup 1ea-US Army surplus desert cammo net w/ poles 1ea- 1997 Honda Odyssey van minus back seats 1ea- 2000watt Honda Generator 1ea- 5000btu window unit AC 1ea- 900watt cheapo wal-mart microwave 1ea- cheapo folding cot 1ea- military surplus sleeping bag 1ea- fire extinguisher 1ea- 40qt Igloo cooler Additions to existing setup: 2ea- 100watt glass solar panels 1ea- 40amp hour LiFePO4 battery w/ charge controller 1ea- Engel 40qt Refrigerator/Freezer (12VDC, 24VDC, or 110VAC / 1- 2 amp draw) 1ea- 12VDC 1-2 amp draw Swampy Mighty Kool model# MW-2 (roughly size of a 2-slice toaster is for those nights where AC is not needed) 1ea- 12VDC to 110VAC 300watt inverter to run laptop which when connected to car stereo yields decent surround sound experience. The addition of my solar investment (cost more than I’ll ever get back from many years of use, going “green” is expensive) limits the use of my Honda generator to running the microwave or on super hot days the window unit AC. On auto-throttle the generator will run AC for approx. 14 hours on about 1.5 gallons of real gasoline (alcohol is for adult gatherings and racing, not powering generators) The Engel cooler’s limited amperage draw allows me to bring frozen dinners and ice cream for a more enjoyable experience on those hot summer days. Adult beverages have since been banished to the analog Igloo 40qt cooler. Car stereo is wired to work off either car battery or with flip of switch from solar panels and it’s battery. This setup has limited my need for fuel to about 1 or 2 gallons (usually have a lot left over)for a three day weekend depending on the conditions. Winter use of generator is use of heat lamp or small cube space heater with around same consumption as with AC unit. Van died on me this fall and have since bought new ride, in process of realigning and recreating Gumpdom. No doubt it will be bigger and better than version 1.0.
  2. only in the muff bro's trailer giving homage to mr gates and our many departed brother and sister skydwellers.
  3. lurch, my brother, you couldn't have said it better. gray was a part of my coach course at jumptown along with the delandian laidlaw many, many years ago. he loaned one of his old jumpsuits to do my check jumps, until he loaned it to me bird shit couldn't keep up with me. never knew mountains like him could fall so slow. gray, keep mister gates and little miss debbie out of trouble till i get there. might need some wing and harp coaching too, depending where we are.
  4. maybe the multiracial one reads SC? sad thing is the wasted money on green when if those evil giant carbon problems were addressed and into full swing, there would be residual monies to play with green things and the nation would be busy working and not collecting unemployment. most all of the energy companies have been looking into the next chapter of energy without being directed to by the multiracial one. the saudi's and everybody else knows that the oil can't last forever and when the change comes, they want to be on the cutting edge. as with HBO, ooops wrong order, BHO, he must be dyslexic, even in the academic world first you prove your premise, then train folks to work the buttons and valves. his approach was like giving the final test the first day of class and then spending the rest of the semester teaching the course material. we sure got a lot of bang for the buck with all of that green job training. might not have been a bad thing to get the jobs situation under wraps so that when folks were making some money they could afford to buy some green devices. a person of his ego (I, I, I, I....) does not back track, ever. that would force him, the multiracial one, to admit he was wrong and that will NEVER happen.
  5. If it can happen at the state level, it surely can happen at the federal level. way to go CA! http://www.foxnews.com/us/2012/05/12/california-authorities-lose-data-for-700k-plus-home-care-workers-recipients/?test=latestnews

  8. Your a liberal then You know what is best for you, the planet and everyone else Anyone who does not agree with you (cause you are so smart) is stupid, ignorant, brainwashed or religous And you voted for and will vote again for Obama Does that about nail it? marc, please remember that it's the playbook, no science or sense of right or wrong is involved. see below link....... http://vcn.bc.ca/citizens-handbook/rules.html
  9. actually, it's very sad! MLK's dream was that of a color blind society. it that context, we as a nation, should be "evolving" towards removal of the "race" and "gender" check box on ALL job applications. the most qualified should get the position not the decision based of a racial/gender equation.
  10. i was roughnecking on drilling rigs in western OK, when directional drilling was first was born. at first it was somewhat awkward with the limited down-hole tools that were available. out of that technology came the directional boring machines that most utility workers use to minimize surface damages when installing ducting. we re-entered existing vertical wells and tried to build a kick-off to continue drilling horizontally. this procedure give more exposure to the producing zone and is also a boon for the environment in that we were using existing sites thus not having to dig as much new dirt. another big help to exploration came with 3D Seismic Surveys. when i was working up in PA and NY we core drilled a few holes in the newer fields that we were "wild-catting" just to make sure the surveys were correct. it's amazing the technology we have today. the geologist i worked for knew pretty much to the foot mark each formation we were to encounter on our way to total depth and payday. http://www.rri-seismic.com/Frame%20Pages/Tech%20Pages/Seismic/seismic.htm
  11. Why, do you like bullies? www.chicagotribune.com/business/bizwrap/la-pn-romney-apologies-after-bullying-incidents-in-high-school-revealed-20120510,0,622342.story So you are going to post this in two threads? 13. http://www.foxnews.com/leisure/2012/05/10/us-hybrid-car-owners-unlikely-to-buy-again/ looks like 33-35% would buy another hybrid. gee that must mean 65-67% are going back to those gasoline burners!
  14. God is not flip-flopping. His followers are having the difficulty. http://www.npr.org/2012/05/11/152466134/same-bible-different-verdict-on-gay-marriage?ft=1&f=1001 As I stated above, BHO's decision is going to cost him dearly in the Black community, middle class mothers and seniors. His loss of support among Blacks, et al., cannot be overcome by the liberal democrats and LGBT folks. looks like "evolving" in the nick of time has it's own rewards............ Obama touts gay marriage stance at Hollywood fundraiser, as event raises nearly $15M http://www.foxnews.com/politics/2012/05/11/obama-touts-gay-marriage-stance-at-hollywood-fundraiser-as-event-raises-nearly/
  15. http://www.foxnews.com/opinion/2012/05/10/euro-must-go/ kallend he's another one from academia for ya. his credentials can be found at the following link so you don't have any knee-jerk reactions of a possible FOX based/biased opinion. http://www.rhsmith.umd.edu/lbpp/faculty/morici.aspx
  16. and thanks to the owners of private lands so evil oil could drill there. that way the great orator had something to brag about.
  17. I sort of agree here. I think he always supported it, but because of politics he wouldn't be completely open about it. And I think all politicians do this sort of thing. Which is why I wouldn't make a very good politician. I doubt that this is true. http://www.gallup.com/poll/147824/adults-estimate-americans-gay-lesbian.aspx U.S. adults, on average, estimate that 25% of Americans are gay or lesbian. More specifically, over half of Americans (52%) estimate that at least one in five Americans are gay or lesbian, including 35% who estimate that more than one in four are. Thirty percent put the figure at less than 15%. Sorry, I'm missing your point here. (???) i was just "buttressing" your statement with a link

  19. Explain the "simple American mind." Aint she sweet and so humble oh brother, will Germany be so humble and sweet when the rest of their union drags them down the tubes. financial desperation tends to initiate world wars.
  20. yup, the US Army taught me a lot about nuclear, biological, and chemical warfare. How to wage it and how to protect my soldiers when it's waged on me. lucky those ruskies never trekked down the Fulda Gap, thus we never had to test that training. http://www.lmrk.org/corexit_9500_uscueg.539287.pdf http://www.rikiott.com/pdf/9527A%20MSDS.pdf MSDS for the chemicals that was/is still being used to combat spills. another interesting portion in addition to the ingredients is section 11 where no toxicity tests have been performed for either product. maybe some of that money that was wasted solyndra could have better been used to buttress existing endeavors (see link below). $535M would go a long way in solving pollution problems in either coal or petroleum. http://www.bloomberg.com/news/2011-09-28/solyndra-s-733-million-plant-had-whistling-robots-spa-showers.html "it covered 300,000 square feet, the equivalent of five football fields. It had robots that whistled Disney tunes, spa-like showers with liquid-crystal displays of the water temperature, and glass-walled conference rooms."
  21. http://www.foxnews.com/opinion/2012/05/08/why-death-europe-is-america-opportunity/ sound familiar???
  22. instead of accepting help from the international community that had the ships and equipment at the ready, he chose to dump even more chemicals into the gulf cleverly disguised as "dispersants." can only wonder if a different result would have been achieved without dumping the chemicals, resulting in the oil covering poor ole davy jones locker.
