That was helpful. Twice my rig has been to the loft since I moved to SoCal, and twice I've been charged substantially more than I've paid for the same services in NorCal. Had a vending machine at my last job that would take your money about 50% of the time. Several years ago I took a good friend to the DZ for a tandem. He was a little nervous, so I made sure to manifest on his load (mostly so I could see his face when he got in the door ). The pilot had the radio cranked up for the climb to altitude, and I could see that Dan was concentrating on the music to keep himself distracted from the real purpose of the plane ride. At about 11k I noticed he was starting to get that ''Deer in the headlights" look, and was alternating between glancing nervously at me, looking out the window, and staring at the stereo speakers. I was looking right at him when "Sweet home Alabama" came on, and I had a thought that made me grin. Then he turned from the window and made eye contact. He saw me grinning, looked up and pointed to the speakers, nodding his head as if to say "yeah, great song!"....and that's when I lost it. Between the song and the look on Dans face, all I could think of was the scene in "Forrest Gump" where Forrest was learning to dance...I was still laughing when he exited, and for most of the jump.
