I hear you SpeedRacer. I sat down and ran thru some figures last week and decided my '99 Jeep TJ must go. I am replacing it with a VW Golf GLS 1.8T. Each time I drive to and from the DZ I will "earn" a free jump. It is kind of funny because the day before my first jump I went to a Jeep club meeting and was planning on joining AND THEN SKYDIVING HIT ME LIKE A TONS OF BRICKS. My budget can only handle one cash draining hobby. Bye Bye Jeep, Hello Mirage G3 etc.... I think you should add BP Amoco to your boycott list. Sir John Browne the BP CEO helped to cause this problem by closing down exploration and reducing production in 1999. Actually Congress allowed the oil co.s to merge which reduced competition too.

I see what you are saying FallnAngel but I think the reason for the 3x's reference has been used by others to show the speed with which this skydiver was maintaining during his landing. It is often hard to understand the emotion of a writer. I don't think anyone here means any disrespect. In fact my eyes are watering now(and I am sitting in my cubical world at work) and almost always do when I hear about the loss of any skyflyer. My thoughts and prayers go out his family and friends. Yummmmm! I have started to have steak the night before I jump too. During the week I try to eat less red meat as I am aging. But the night before I jump my mind goes' "Why the hell not. I am taking more of a risk in the morning. So Enjoy!"

I just got a skydiving tattoo a month ago. I designed it myself. I took the canopy from the USPA wings (or the ARMY Aribirne Wings) and added it to my father's Air Moblie Wings with a rifle and a lightening bolt behind them (for all you military guys they are the original Air Assualt Wings). They look like the USPA wings but are not as curved upward. And just to make it real I replaced the shield with a ying/yang for the balance between skydiving and life, I need one to have the other.

I sent out my letters except for the IRS. There is no way I want any contact with them. I also sent one out to President Bush with comments added about his dad jumping. I am planning on hitting up my Senator and Congressman. Send out those letters - it may be you someday who needs it.
