  1. I totally agree. However, some people don't believe that it's possible for sponsored atheletes or company reps to accurately represent their product against other companies products without bias. In some cases it may be true (definitely not Isaiah) but I thought an 'unbiased' reference may be the most helpful to the jumper. So what did you think of the KA? 2. And a birthday tomorrow.....what a busy week
  3. Here's a video from Performance Designs, specifically about Sabre2 end cell closure. Enjoy
  4. Ahh, didn't see that. Well, IMO, the KA is a good stepping stone to a X-braced. Particularly if you like the 'feel' and characteristics of Performance Designs products. A jumper at our DZ spent today on my wifes 107. The jumper normally jumps a XF2 109. They liked the KA more cause of the steeper trim and they felt it (the KA) had a better flare. Of course this is all subjective as there are others out there who feel the opposite. I absolutely believe that the KA is the best swooping 9 cell (non x-braced) out there right now, with the XF2 being a close second. Actually, drop Vectracide a PM. I believe he used to jump a XF2 and now jumps a KA. He will be able to give you a good overview of what he thinks the two perform like compared to one another. He also had the spectra lines on the KA and has since switched to the HMA (stock) option now so he can give you his thoughts on that change too. Blues, Ian ps: In case you wonder why I reference the XF2, it's because it's the only other 9 cell out there (in that category) that is even close to the performance category you are looking for. 5. Demo the KA 107 and see if it fits your needs. You can read what I and everyone else say about the canopy but in the end you will need to find what fits you the best. Additionally, since KA's are now lined (standard) with HMA there have been no 'lineset' issues. Have fun. 6. I'm not sure if he's still on the 96 but he's on a velo. Blues, Ian To the mind that is still, the whole universe surrenders. ~ Lao-Tzu It's all good, they're my brothers ~ Mariann Kramer
  7. Correct. Placing him in the top 10 put him in the Pro class for the forthcoming year. Having flown with John I can say it's well deserved. Blues, Ian To the mind that is still, the whole universe surrenders. ~ Lao-Tzu It's all good, they're my brothers ~ Mariann Kramer

  9. IMO because it's the latest new toy. Which I can totally understand cause I like new toys too
  10. Yeah, been there, done that. Don't really like the marks the T-Shirt leaves To the mind that is still, the whole universe surrenders. ~ Lao-Tzu It's all good, they're my brothers ~ Mariann Kramer
  11. Dave, We used them cause it was the cheapest option for us. Getting a course of blades is pretty pricey, not all comps are run on blades anyway and when a blade grabs the end cell it's normally uglier than a noodle strike
  12. I still train on them, and Travis Stewart trained on the 10's at our DZ all season and did just fine. I see no problem with them. Put up a wind indicator nearby and use that. 13. Tonto's post pretty much sums it up, IMO. A common mistake is to want to turn over the top of the gates. This often leads the pilot to drive themselves down lower, and harder, than they should resulting in either a bail to toggles or a less efficient swoop. Make sure you set your initiation point far further back from the gate than you think it should be and slowly shorten it up. 14. I knew I liked you for a reason Judy. Hope to see you again in TN sometime soon. Blues, Ian To the mind that is still, the whole universe surrenders. ~ Lao-Tzu It's all good, they're my brothers ~ Mariann Kramer
  15. Truth has to be proven fact. Now, for you to have FAITH that it is the truth is fine but don't run around making statements that you, or any person on the planet, can't back up. I agree with Goofyjumper. Just say you're pregnant, say you're happy, but if you want to bring religion into it then you're just 'bringing it on yourself' so quit complaining. 16. I have an AAD in my rig. It's currently turned off 99% of the time as I'm doing hop n pops and landing with multiple rotations. I'm shipping it off to Airtec this week for the speed mod (I believe it's available now) so I can turn it on again. 17. Hurl an object at 100 mph dead straight. Measure distance. Hurl same object at same velocity with a 10 degree angle at launch. Measure distance. Look at Olympian shot put, long jump, hammer throw, etc, etc, etc. They all follow the same principals. It's a balance between the best angle for the velocity of the object. 20. Nice job Alex. Glad you had a good, fun time. Hope you, and everyone for that matter, learned a bunch. See you soon! Blues, Ian To the mind that is still, the whole universe surrenders. ~ Lao-Tzu It's all good, they're my brothers ~ Mariann Kramer
  21. A lot of the 'big name' swoopers started when those downsizing trends were common. Also right about the same time fatality rates were higher than ever for hook turns. I doubt he meant that in regards to downsizing but I can't speak for him. However what Frost says is true. Eventually he'll get better and, potentially, become a better known swooper.....OR.....he'll die, or break himself and quit. Most of the time, it's the latter. Those aren't really good odds IMO. 23. Oh come on....$58.88 per jump is a steal I'll be sitting this one out too. Blues, Ian To the mind that is still, the whole universe surrenders. ~ Lao-Tzu It's all good, they're my brothers ~ Mariann Kramer
  24. Just got word of some of the final results (unofficial so don't lynch me if I got a few incorrect!!)
