  1. Correct. Sure there are the odd runs that range from 450 to the 600+ (unofficially) foot range but they aren't common. In my experience most good competition runs (at sea level) range from 300-400 feet. However, that said, as techniques and training improve I expect to see that number come up to the high 300's on todays parachutes for an average. With the next generation of wings....well, that's anybody's guess
  2. That bastard got my old baby wet!!!! Looks nice T. I'm hoping to make it to SA in 2007 for some family stuff and will make sure I stop by if I end up going back. Blues! Ian To the mind that is still, the whole universe surrenders. ~ Lao-Tzu It's all good, they're my brothers ~ Mariann Kramer

  5. Or maybe, just maybe, they're normal people, with otherwise normal lives who happen to have found something they're not ashamed of doing that can make them a living. More power to them IMO. 6. Yeah, that mofo is the smoothest, sickest pilot I've ever seen on water. It's a true pleasure watching him......now tell him it's going to happen in Feb this year I will do my best. I've had to miss the last 2 years because of scheduling conflicts. Maybe I'll be a little luckier in 2007
  7. 8 way freefly ....on a 100th jump? Guess I'm getting old Nice pic though
  8. I agree with you. Sure, I'd like to win, but I've yet to go to a competition where I wasn't challenged or didn't learn something. IMO the journey is more valuable than the destination. 9. Tami, Please give Scotty our best wishes for a speedy recovery. Glad to hear he's doing well. Hope you are handling everything ok as well. Blues, Ian (and Katie) Drennan To the mind that is still, the whole universe surrenders. ~ Lao-Tzu It's all good, they're my brothers ~ Mariann Kramer
  10. That's about as crazy as saying a long jumper has to keep their feet below a 2 foot mark. It totally defeats the objective of the discipline...to go as far as possible. I'd be pretty disappointed if they point a limit on the techniques we could use to achieve that goal. Might as well require everyone to wear a wingsuit for speed rounds as well (I'm just poking fun at you here Johnny ) Blues, Ian To the mind that is still, the whole universe surrenders. ~ Lao-Tzu It's all good, they're my brothers ~ Mariann Kramer

  20. Team Mandrin has them and I see them land with their sliders behind their heads all the time. I haven't heard any negative comments from the team about them either so I assume it's not too hard to pull down. 23. RR1: Spinner on 135 heatwave RR2: Bag lock RR3: Tension knots on experimental lines. RR4: Unknown, but it was an ugly mess of linetwists (flying straight) and what looked like a step through. I spent all the time (until my minimum cutaway alt of 1500) working out of the linetwists and mess but ran out of time. The step through made kicking out of them near impossible although I did get really close before running out of altitude. Tempting as it was to keep working on it, I followed my rules and proceeded with my emergency procedures.
  24. HAHAHAHA - will do It'll be a little while till we see you guys again - off to Hawaii for 2 weeks on Sat morning
