Just file a claim with your insurance company and allow them to pursue it. They are quite experienced with dealing with other insurance companies and you will be surprised to see an insurance company actually work for your best interests

I was lucky enough to have a close up encounter with a condor 2 months ago while hiking in the backcountry of the Los Padres Forest. I think a big problem for these birds is that many of them are raised by humans and they now see us as a easy supply of food. This bird came within 5 feet of us and aggresively challenged us for our backpacks. We decided to leave and it continued to follow us. Im sure it has learned to do the same with hunters, and could easily eat lead by stealing shot game before it could be recovered. They are beautiful animals and I hope we can find a way to share our forests with them

Hi, it definatly sounds like a vacuum leak. Have you recently serviced your transmission? Sometimes when you change the tranny filter you can get a tiny leak that is really hard to detect but will make your car run just the way yours does. I used to have an old wagoneer and had the same problem a couple of times.

Im not sure I understand your post, if you take the one time lump sum option on the lottery all the taxes are already taken out, so you would be able to keep the 10 million and only have to pay taxes on the intersest you make from the money in the bank. Or am I missing the point?

Your post again doesnt make sense. You are not making your business decision based on the tax code, you are just getting a total write off on the money you spent doing business. And when you lower the corporate tax rate, it does nothing but influence my decision to pocket my profits rather than reinvest that money in my corp in order to reduce my tax liability. Its called the "cost of money"

I usually just lurk here but I couldnt resist chiming in. Your hypothetical doesnt make sense. Why would you declare that 20000 as income? That money would be an investment in your business and would be %100 tax deductable, the people you paid that money to would be responsible for the tax. You would just be required to send in a form 1099 on them at the end of the year

I understand what you are saying, but I believe you are missing the point. Football in nothing more than entertainment and image. You say he is a true villan, I agree. People dont want to spend $60 on a ticket the game to see this jerk. Who would want him to endorse their product? Will Rodgers once said " if there are no dogs in heavan, then when I die I want to go where they went". So many of us see our dogs as family members and for this guy to kill them for mere entertainment is completely unforgivable in the eyes of so many Americans, myself included, his acts go beyond the scope of what is legal and just digs right into our heart. You are advocating insurance that disriminates against those with existing conditions, that doesnt adress the problem in any way whatsoever. By creating a large pool, everyone can be insured and costs are absorbed by so many more that premiums could still stay reasonable, I thought thats what this thread was discussing

instead of pooling insurance through small orginations like uspa and some bowling league why not an insurance pool of 300,000,000 people by having "The People" create an insurance pool? The larger the pool the cheaper it can be, right?

I found the 2% medicare numbers at the heritage foundation website, if you google health care administration costs, you will find numerous sites stating the one third of every dollar goes to administration costs. If your company is only 10% thats great, but they are most certainly on the lowest end of the spectrum. Where do all your stats come from?

like I said, Canada is not a system I would want to duplicate. The other link talked about the European system being stressed. Our system is going bankrupt also. Maybe Im being foolish, but yes I do. The reality is that the government is already involved in healthcare. It spends billions every year just trying to decide who does and does not get it. There are so many different departments its ridiculous. Just streamlining would save alot. Duplicating HMO's and eliminating lawsuits and going to arbitration could save much also. Maybe Im being prejudiced, but if so many other countries can do it succesfully, I have to think America could do it better! Shit even Iraq has government sponsored healthcare, and guess who is paying for it.

to each his own, personally I am really tired of watching my premiums go up 20% a year, and am willing to try something new. About the only country Ive heard nightmare stories about is Canada and their system. So maybe that would be a good example of lets not do it like that!

Acutually I belong to Kaiser because I prefer the service they provide for the price. You spoke of administration costs as being out of control, I agree. Did you know that administration costs for medicare are approximately 2% in relationship to private healthcare companies that range between 15 to 30%. Statistically Americans pay about 40% more for healthcare than other industialised nations that subsidise their healthcare

I agree that lawsuits dont do much to keep costs down, but that is easily controlled. I belong to the Kaiser HMO, if you want to join, you must sign a document waiving your right to sue them and agree to settle any disagreements through arbitration, maybe something like that could be done on a national level and we could all pay a heck of alot less for insurance. Just my opinion

Sorry, I thought the point you were trying to make was that nationalised health care is bad, and it seemed kind of strange to use a country that has nationalised healthcare as an example of a good system

are you aware the reason health care in Costa Rica is so cheap is because it is government subsidised?
