  1. Yeah, but Paul is an aspergery little weird guy, while Sanders is.... Oh.
  2. The Patriot Act was a vile power grab given life via political theater. So I have no real problem with it dying by the same sword. I have no problem with it dying. Or being killed. But it isn't killed by wielding a Nerf sword. Rand Paul just did a campaign speech. Oh, no doubt. He uses the filibuster well, as he has before, to get himself every politician's life-blood: lots of publicity. And it costs him nothing. Smart tactic. He's still an aspergery little weirdo.

  4. Yes. And I'm very sensitive about my body image, if you don't mind.
  5. Yeah IIRC they figured out pretty quickly the guy had nothing to go after. I hate people like that. Bottom line, if you can afford a fucking car, you should be able to afford the fucking insurance. The guy who hit Krisanne did have insurance, Billy - the legal minimum amount required by that state's law. But her damages exceeded the limits of liability of his policy, so her own insurance had to kick in to cover the remainder. What she's saying is that after the other guy's policy limits were exhausted, he didn't have enough personal assets of his own to make it worth while going after him for reimbursement (subrogation) of what her own carrier had to pay on her behalf. Blood from a stone, and all that.
  6. Relax, Grasshopper. Observe the peaceful grace of the butterfly. Contemplate the sound of one hand clapping.
  7. Obama Deficiency Sense Absolutely You sound syndicalism about Obama.
  8. Totally! Which is why I lawyered up to make sure I got all my expenses covered by the (too many) insurance companies that were involved. It actually does make total sense that MV coverage would be primary in those accidents and the health insurers would subrogate (I actually work in the health insurance area though not in claims; still a little of that stuff has seeped in through osmosis.) I'd just never really thought through where my auto insurance fit in if I wasn't actually in a vehicle... but I learned (the hard way). Speaking of subrogation, it wouldn't have been just your health ins carrier that had the right to subrogate. Once your MV carrier paid on your UM/UIM claim, your MV carrier did have the right to pursue subrogation against the other guy to get its money back from him, since it was his fault.
  9. Interesting little factoid about insurance and pedestrian accidents. Guy who hit me was ticketed for a red light violation but lawyered up and got out of the ticket on a technicality. His insurance company didn't dispute that he was liable for the accident (since, as mentioned above, I was not jaywalking, but was in the crosswalk with a walk signal), so my medical bills went against his insurance. Problem was he had the state minimum (which at the time was $50K, may still be) which wasn't enough to cover my bills, so the rest of the payment was made by my uninsured/under-insured coverage on my auto policy (even though I was walking). I guess if I'd been a non-driver who didn't have my own auto insurance I would've been screwed on the bills on that one, or maybe it would've been borne by my medical insurance company (as it was they were off the hook for all the bills). Your medical ins co was off the hook for the bills because there were sufficient motor vehicle insurance policies in place (his plus yours) to cover all of your bills; and under most states' laws, MV ins coverage is primary over health ins coverage. Had the aggregate of whatever combination of his MV coverage (if any) coverage plus your MV coverage (if any) been insufficient to cover 100% of your bills, then your health ins coverage would have been triggered for the remaining uncovered amount. Clear as mud?
  10. I know it's a bit off topic, but doesn't Paul sound absolutely desperate to be believed? There are many times when studying scripture that I wonder what prompted somebody to make a particular statement. In this instance, I've discovered that there were other teachers seeking to build a following for their own self serving purposes - and in doing so they started to attack Paul's apostleship and called him a fraud. Sounds pretty similar to a dick-swinging contest between biker gangs over bottom rockers.
  11. Nope; those are for Clown College.

  15. You know those Commie spies and moles you and your elk used to obsess about? They're still here, well blended-in. Just waiting for the word.* Just how well do you really know your "friends and neighbors"? ------------ *Not "The Word" you're waiting for. Just the word.
  16. I've always wondered why Izod doesn't have a bottom rocker. Now I understand.
  17. I've reviewed the answers I gave in 2009. They haven't really changed, but maybe I've mellowed just a tad more. Anyhow, I'm not rude (moi?) to people when they ask the questions, although I try to steer the conversation to "pass the potatoes" as soon as I can. But I'm naturally an impatient person, so I just don't have patience with the same questions & comments over and over the way some others in this thread seem to.. For this reason, I never disclose I'm a skydiver to those who don't already know it, and ask my family to do likewise. Sometimes my wife amuses herself by throwing me under the bus to see me squirm when she's had a few martinis, but hey - that's my gal, and she thinks it's a hoot.
  18. I'm guessing that was his point.
  19. Yeah, I have always been told that variety in diet is far better than always having the same intake. I would love to only have to eat this one thing again, but it's not looking that way. I'm going to have to go back to cooking. you could rub plant chlorophyll all over your skin and just absorb your nutrients from the sun. no more eating for you, more twinkies for the rest of us. works out for everyone.
  20. You two sound like you're already dating.
  21. Who is the white community leader? Who is the latino community leader? Hitler! Pancho Villa!
  22. Here in CO, bicycles are legally vehicles, but not skateboards, rollerskates, etc. Well, clearly this rocket surgeon prolly figgered that well, duh, bikes have wheels and have rights on the road, so skateboards must, too. Calling Professor Darwin.
