  1. What do you mean??? You are the local anywhere close to or East of the 15 Get in - Get off - Get away....repeat as neccessary
  2. I've tried this route before, but it offers no seperation of the bridle from the object...which I guess isn't a big deal on a lot of stuff but I still like to have my bridle as far away as possible from eveything snaggable. Get in - Get off - Get away....repeat as neccessary
  3. I've never attached break cord directly to the object. I prefer to use a carry away SL setup. If I think the carry away SL will get hung up or slide excessively, then I attach a piece of 800# or 900# Dacron to the object with a surgeons knot to close it up and tie my break cord to the dacron runner. 5. I have a regular protech with ears, but I'm not too fond of that Ace of Spades one. They do make it in OD though. Get in - Get off - Get away....repeat as neccessary
  6. I don't recall the paragliding helmets I checked out at Torrey Pines as having ear openings for easy communication...which I consider a neccessity...but I will look into them further. And most of them had what I consider to be excessivley protruding mouthpieces...I want something lower profile. Not sure if lower profile would offet the same protection though. This is merely the "brainstorming" phase. But I have thought about it for a while...ever since I met one of the Tahoe crew who busted their jaw. Spoke about this at length with Seth Gray as well. Figured I'd put a post on here and attempt to get a broader perspective. Get in - Get off - Get away....repeat as neccessary
  7. I have contacted a helmet manufacturer about the possibility of making a full face BASE specific helmet...either a single custom one or more if anyone else is interested. The points I feel are important: Full Face yet Low profile Unobstructed vision on all axis Ear openings for easy communications Light weight No visor Anyone else have any more ideas or suggestions or input of any kind??? 8. No shit. No one said ambulances shouldn't be there. And if a fatality occurs, then the fatality should be removed in a timely and appropriate and respectful manner...not left to sit there as the fuckhead deland staff members suggested...and JLMiracle(and obviously you) agreed with. But Jamie is right. My apologies for bringing this trash up here. And RJMoney was right, he must know me well...I was drunk and I was super pissed when I started this thread. 9. Wow...all I can say. Got my first eye opening example of what so many have complained about in the past here on dz.com. The following post was made by a DZ.com member. This member's profile states he jumps a Velo with a 2.25wl, lists swooping as a discipline, and has an image of themselves swooping as their avatar: Billvon, a moderator here on DZ.com replied with the following: So, as I pointed out...how can you ask if someone hates swoopers who swoops themselves? Who flies a velo @ a 2.25 wl? Who has an avatar of themselves swooping? And didn't the person say that having an ambulance was a good idea? I mean, what the hell are you debating? You yourself are saying that ambulances are a good idea at swoop comps and bridge day. He said the same thing didn't he? Am I missing something here? It makes no sense to me...does it to anyone else? Imagine my surprise to find my post deleted. There was no personal attack. There was no profanity. And did whoever delete my post also delete the stupid post from the moderator??? Of course not. ******* ********!!!!!!!!!!! And for the record...this post is in no way a reflection of my feelings towards Tom. I think Tom is pretty fair, has people's best interests in mind, has always been straight with me, and has helped me in my BASE endeavors in many many ways. No debate about that. But these other guys...what a joke. Oh well, I like the BASE zone. I have learned lots here, met many friends here, had many good laughs here, and enjoyed just the plain BS that goes on here in my 100's of days I spend alone in hotel rooms everynight while I'm on the road. And I will continue to in my quest for BASE in all 50 states. But the other forums are a joke...and full of jokers. And that is the absolute most polite way I can put it. 10. Many a time you've said that a fatality should not be taken away from the scene of the accident? Please explain your logic behind that statement... Get in - Get off - Get away....repeat as neccessary

    Hey Tom

Well- I guess I don't need to piss off everyone in Tennessee. I guess I don't need to piss off all the AFF-I's. I guess I don't need to piss off all the women on the board. I guess I don't need to piss off everyone with a stupid fucking dog as an avatar. And it would take a fucking Miracle to not piss off all of the above...so I will refrain from any personal attacks. Plus now I'm depressed that I've picked the lock to the 22nd story roof entrance at my hotel somewhere in the Midwest and the winds are 10mph and increasing...aren't winds supposed to die down around 2am? This BLOWS!!! Get in - Get off - Get away....repeat as neccessary

    Hey Tom

If I call a female member of DZ.com a stupid fucking cunt...do I get banned from the forum I post it in? Or from DZ.com in general? How long would the ban last? Just hypothetically speaking of course... How about if I send it to her in a PM? Are PM's fair game as long as they are not threatening in nature? Thnaks, Kurt Get in - Get off - Get away....repeat as neccessary
  13. Hey dude...I have been following this thread and I haven't seen anybody ask it yet, so I will. (or else I'm really dense and missed it)[url] Do you have BASE specific gear? Or do you plan to flik with your Talon 2? And man...the people that replied are actually only looking out for your best interests. Even if they don't like you they don't want to see you get hurt. 14. Tony- I had forgotten about that....that was the funniest shit ever!!! Here's a pic from that trip...of course Dale is smiling and I am pissed that the wind sucked so I had to work... Get in - Get off - Get away....repeat as neccessary
  15. Our friend and fellow BASE jumper Dale McLemore (kameradale) was lost in a swoop comp today. Dale is a great guy who always has a huge smile on his face, hilarious stories and makes everyone he meets feel like he has been their friend forever and ever. He IS that guy who will give you the shirt off his back. I already miss you bro... Get in - Get off - Get away....repeat as neccessary

  18. I thought the letter was: A. To help your family come to grasp with why exactly you were BASE jumping in the first place. B. In doing so, to hopefully persuade a grieving family member not to go on a tangent sueing gear manufacturers and bombarding every elected and/or public official with correspondence attempting to outlaw BASE more than it already is. 20. Did you ever go back and say hello to our 6'6" 300 pound witness and his two pit bulls? Wasn't his name Anthony? We should find him and flik his 28th story window for the hell of it. I'll be in NY sometime in June... Get in - Get off - Get away....repeat as neccessary
  21. I have to give props to TruckerBASE. I have never met Dennis, but I had seen his exploits on here before he was banned and on the Blinc archives. He gave me the "inspiration" for lack of a better term to bust my ass and alter things so that I could make a living while traveling and flik stuff everywhere in the process. 22. Really? I already received 32 PM's But to elaborate for you, I have accounts everywhere, and if I don't have better criteria at that time (like a specific appointment or a trade show) I schedule my business trips around exit points. So after Chi Town I am free to go basically anywhere in IN, OH or MI Oh yeah, I was just kidding about the 32 PM's Get in - Get off - Get away....repeat as neccessary

  25. The velcro is perfect. And the TP is so friggin huge that there is no way to not line it up correctly. My Flik 266 is the smallest canopy Apex uses the large TP on. I actually trip out on the size of the TP...my Rockdragon has a very small tailpocket, it requires being carefull to properly mate the velcro once you have stowed your lines. My Flik is the opposite. It's like 50% larger than it needs to be. And I think the brakes are good. I've taken this setup off 240' B's and 265' B's HH and SL as well as higher S's and been satisfied with the settings. Had people from above filming and observing openings off a 370'B and everyone has agreed that brakes are satisfactory. Get in - Get off - Get away....repeat as neccessary
