  1. Why the ambiguity?? Just kidding. Like I said...I'd be comfortable with my toxic 42 and a well primed pin rig there...but the velcro rig is getting the 46. Get in - Get off - Get away....repeat as neccessary
  2. Maybe I need to ditch the Flik and get another RockDragon... Get in - Get off - Get away....repeat as neccessary
  3. I'd put my similiar 42 on my pin rig there (well primed of course) and go hand held without a second thought. I personally would not feel comfortable with a 42 on my velcro rig off that object though. Get in - Get off - Get away....repeat as neccessary

  5. Flik'd a lowish coastal S last night with my Perigee 2/Flik 266 Vtech/46" Toxic PC. 1/2 second delay tops. Exited slightly head high if anything. Had a violent opening, felt like a 3+ second delay...combined with a 90 left. Any ideas what could lead to a hard opening with such a short delay??? 8. Dude, why stop there? Only take one car per load. Don't leave your car at the end of the road by the park...the cops look for people selling and doing drugs in that park when it's closed. Don't even park on a street next to it...go back a few streets and walk a little...those who live closest know what is going on and they aren't all BASE friendly. Don't take excessive or any non-jumpers...unless they are a get away driver in which case they have no business even being around the stick. What kind of hook knives did you find? The Apex velcro chest strap ones? The Asylum jr ripper snap in ones? Who's design fails the most??? Get in - Get off - Get away....repeat as neccessary

    Baffin locals

I hear the locals are super pissed about global warming literally burning their objects and would love to take it out on a group just like yours... They know Lee cannot watch all of you all the time with his cannon... Get in - Get off - Get away....repeat as neccessary

  11. Bill S showed me the same thing (break-cording the canopy to shrivel flap attachment). Since BASE 60 was Bill's mentor, your train of thought is probably correct. This method works great on our local rock you speak of...because its an easy hike back to the exit point to retrieve your shrivel flap and the site is quasi legal. But I would prefer not to leave my shrivel flaps on the side of a B that my canopy just woke up the security guards. I personally am interested in the deletion of the PC. Several others from this same literal line of BASE education were the first to suggest I ditch it... KUrt Get in - Get off - Get away....repeat as neccessary
  12. I have a Dainese vest with the neck protector. It has the honeycombed back protector, hard pads to either upper sides of the back protector for your shoulder blades, hard chest protection with some of the honeycomb stuff like the back protector, and the neck thing. It has no pads on the tops of the shoulders. The neck thing made me feel stiff...like Frankenstein with a rig...so I removed it. Mine is incorporated into a neck sleeve on the vest, so I don't see it as any kind of entanglement hazard. One thing I did notice. With the jackets etc with pads on top of the shoulders, it seemed like a PITA to reach overhead with a PACKED rig on my back. Then I went back to the store with an unpacked rig...with things looser it was much easier to simulate reaching for stuff overhead. So I'd reccomend trying on whatever you purchase with both a packed and unpacked rig to get a better idea of what your range in motion will truely be under canopy. The North America D store is 2 minutes from my garage. Get in - Get off - Get away....repeat as neccessary
  13. Did she know about this slit prior to the jump yet still jump the system? Did she have a second looser loop of breakcord? Was the container opened or closed when the break cord failed? How high was exit point to impact? Not trying to grill you, I just really want to know all the factors. The way I exit on SL jumps is intended to minimize pendulum effects upon opening...the trade off is less object separation. A hanging up PC could cause a serious off heading with minimal object separation, essentially causing an unavoidable object strike... At least, that is my train of though at the moment... 14. I'd like to talk to Rob...I'm wondering if he was tied off at the PC attachment point for a 9' bridle length? or if he went down the bridle, for an effective 7' or 5' foot bridle length? From what I remember Todd telling me, these failures were on 9' bridles. So Todd started tieing off 2' or greater away from the PC attachment point, in essence making it a 7' or shorter bridle. No more failures. I always tie off as close to my pins as possible without risking my canopy hitting the object. I know about the 110' over concrete...I feel in that instance especially a PC might make something "survivable" that maybe shouldn't be survived... Your irony is killing me It's all about balance. Some stowed, some handheld and some basement shit... Get in - Get off - Get away....repeat as neccessary
  15. Thinking about ditching the security blanket (pilot chute) for future static line jumps. I already have shorter bridles, or tie off down the bridle away from the pc attachment point, to lessen the snatch forces on the break cord. Has anyone actually had a PC save them from a premature break cord failure? If so, are you aware if the break cord failure was due to a rigging error? Or was the break cord tied directly off to a sharp object? Or did the system truely fail? I seem to hear more about people losing PC's and bridles and center cells from object entanglement. I've heard several stories of off headings and object strikes due to PC/bridle entanglements. Input welcome... Get in - Get off - Get away....repeat as neccessary

My entire post was supposed to be a PM to a poster I've had previous PM conversations with before...I fucked up big time and somehow posted it to the thread...what a douche bag.... My apologies to everyone for the mistake! I wouldn't ever intentionally call your shit out on a public forum...site names or locations, or jumpers names or locations. Tom, please just delete my entire post!!! Sorry again Kurt Get in - Get off - Get away....repeat as neccessary
  20. Why do you want to load the hell out of a 244? Just curious. PM me if you're feeling shy. Get in - Get off - Get away....repeat as neccessary
  21. While the weather conditions obviously sucked for jumping, until the gear is inspected it seems all this speculation is premature. And unless something blaringly obvious is found, as in a pull up cord left in a closing loop, without a jumper to witness the event or a spectator with a video, we will never know the truth. Late pull? Hard/missed pull? Either/or combined with a hesitating pilot chute? Excessive closing loop tension? Forgetting to do the little velcro thingy on the bridle above the upper pin? Is anyone aware if this jumper used tools (a pull up cord more specifically) to prep/pack the PC? Wasn't this the "speculated" cause of the last fatality at Twin even though the PC was clear upon inspection after the incident? Condolences to the jumpers family and friends...and to the poor unsuspecting tourists who it sounds like witnessed the ordeal. I hope there weren't any kids there. Cleatus (DZ.com sign in) and Nick Atkins are in Spokane... I have friends in Seattle with some epic objects... Portland has Ray Losli and company...there is also a sweet 370' S about 1 1/2 hours from Portland. Let me know where you get hookups and where you don't and I'll fill in the blanks...i've met people everywhere in PNW / NorCal in the last six months.. 24. I've never thought of using zip ties. They wouldn't show up on a metal detector, and they come in a bunch of cool colors as well... Get in - Get off - Get away....repeat as neccessary
  25. Cons - Slinks are harder to rig, easier to damage Pros - Slinks do not show up on metal detectors. This is only really important if you have removed all the rest of the metal from your rig...but if you have, then they are a virtual must. Get in - Get off - Get away....repeat as neccessary
