    170' freefall

I lasered that exit at 173' to impact. I think the impact point I measured to was a very small distance (single digit feet) above the landing. I know this thread is old and someone drug it up to talk shit...but there is a 159-162 foot exit point being freefalled there now... Get in - Get off - Get away....repeat as neccessary

    aussies busted

Just because there was a bust doesn't mean you have to name the site and post images of it... I mean, this was a one time thing...I doubt anyone has jumped it before, and no one ever will again. Get in - Get off - Get away....repeat as neccessary

    Canopy size?

Unfortunately, unless you are flying a 190 tarp you will never even make it to the trees to swoop through them.... Instead you'll be dodging fences and metal poles... Get in - Get off - Get away....repeat as neccessary

    Canopy size?

Nick- Sometimes you post on here about the "new generation", and people who don't actually know you could get the wrong impression. But in reality, you're great to the new guys. Such is the paradox of the virtual world... Get in - Get off - Get away....repeat as neccessary

  8. Haha what? Did I miss the joke? Was your post a joke? Why get involved in a mud slinging contest before you've even entered the sport??? Get in - Get off - Get away....repeat as neccessary
  9. I wonder how many people who actually BASE jump voted yes, as opposed to anti-BASE skydivers who peruse this forum... I think Mac-10 hit the nail on the head... Get in - Get off - Get away....repeat as neccessary

    Saturday . . . .

Wish I was in town... Good looking out once again Nick... 16 people showing up? You guys should have a little boogie at the low rock... Kurt Get in - Get off - Get away....repeat as neccessary
  11. I say it because for some reason our BASE etiquette of no site naming or specific photos or mentioning locations of exit points seems to have been thrown out the window with this one. Get in - Get off - Get away....repeat as neccessary
  12. Has there ever been an object burned so bad before it was actually under construction? They're probably waiting to bust the first jumper there so it can be put all over CNN and get them more free publicity. Get in - Get off - Get away....repeat as neccessary
  13. Is there any reaction to that from the general skiing world? Probably none...because 18 deaths out of millions of skiers is less than the number of people who died driving on icy roads traveling to and from a day of skiing. Get in - Get off - Get away....repeat as neccessary

    Toxic PC's

I thought that went without saying (or at least had already been said earlier in this thread). The construction methods are noticeably different in the Toxic PC's (and, in my opinion, better), and there are several other differences, as well. Are we reading the same thread? I only pointed it out because it had not been previously mentioned. Get in - Get off - Get away....repeat as neccessary

    Toxic PC's

There is actually more to the toxic than the block/bias construction. The vents are placed differently, changed based upon where the high pressure areas exist in a centerline PC. The vent placement is different on 42/46's as opposed to 38/36/32's as well. Seriously Ralph, just email Marty... Oh, and for people who like pretty colors on their gear, you can have a Toxic made with all sorts of "Look At Me" shades...or maybe a rainbow for those folks... 18. Yeah, I know what you mean. It's really mellow to static line it. But sometimes I like to scare the shit out of myself and feefall it. Good point. Get in - Get off - Get away....repeat as neccessary
  19. The lower exit point no longer exists...it has been covered up with paneling. Gotta flik the upper steel from here on out... And the wind has been calm here every night...tonite it's forecast @ 2mph from 11pm-4am and 0 from 4am-7am Get in - Get off - Get away....repeat as neccessary
  20. Because that would just be low altitude skydiving... And Tom, you are aware that generally when people preface a statement with "honestly", it implies over 70% of the time that they are totally full of shit. 22. "Urban Paratrooper" It was in the title of one of the news stories. Cheers to whoever coined that term...I fucking love it!!! Reads like if they had been slightly more cordial to the spectator, there would have been no issues. Lets face it, there are very limited possibilities to assume why someone would be parachuting into a city in the middle of the night: 1. Aircraft emergency 2. Smuggling(this was Florida you know and not everyone is cool with illegal immigration or blow) 3. BASE And it sounds like BASE never crossed the dudes mind. 23. I have no problem replacing them...I just don't want a new one to possibly fail in its first use. I'm thinking of 1/16" 7x7 Stainless Steel cable currently. Has a 400# load rating, and cut resistance. Use a fancy knot to attach a piece of spectra for the carry away portion. Clamps or crimps or something to fashion the loops on the ends. Some epoxy to coat both the clamps and cable ends so as to protect my canopy in the stash bag. And if it gets hung up, a small piece of metal cable laying around a site shouldn't arouse to much suspicion. My only problem with this is the thought of the metal and clamps having a little weight. When it rips off an object, it might have enough inertia to carry over the top of my inflating canopy and dangle bridle and metal in my face. Or worse, screw with the opening. But that might be over analyzation and extreme paranoia on my part. Get in - Get off - Get away....repeat as neccessary
  24. I recently had my carry off SL set up "slide" a little under load before the break cord gave way. Upon post jump inspection, the steel girder it was attached to had sliced at least 1/2 way through the 800# or 900# braided dacron at the three separate points of contact. Now, I know the #1 thing is to assemble the setup in a way that precludes it from sliding, thereby eliminating the serration slicing of the suspension line. Beyond that. What materials have a greater cut resistance than 900# Dacron yet would still be suitable for fashioning carry off SL setups? 1575# braided Dacron is obvious, and what I will be using until I find something better. 1/2" tubular 1000# webbing? Spectra? Kevlar? Does anyone have a source for black 1575# braided Dacron line? Get in - Get off - Get away....repeat as neccessary
